Vol. 6 - Chapter 51

"Wow," Kaori said as the guard she was with took her to what was probably the fanciest place in the entire city. "This looks... different." 

A clean, gorgeous, white mansion of sorts with a luxurious garden outside and gates separating it from the rest of Amber. 

"This is the Arcane's Manor," the guard told her. "Considering your status, it makes sense to me that you should call this place home during your time here, ma'am." 

"Okay. Can you show me around?" 

"Certainly." 

The two of them entered the building and, if the place looked beautiful outside, inside it looked downright magical. Golden furniture, expensive-looking paintings, a red carpet that covered the floor, statues, and decorations that Kaori imagined each cost a few white royal crowns. There were too many things to spot. 

The one thing Kaori didn't see, however, were people. The building seemed totally empty. 

"Uh, where is everyone?" Kaori asked.
