Commander! 1

What he saw shocked him greatly...

It was a man full of burned marks and was disabled. He didnt have any arms nor his other one leg. The only limbs that he had was his right foot! He was sitting on a wheelchair which are automated.

The man was looking at Adam with tears falling from his eyes, and was full of sadness.

As Adam saw the face of the man, he remembered who it was.

It was the commander!

During invasion, commander lost his limbs from the D-grade monster, and was now disabled.

Adam got confused cause as he looks at the surroundings, there's no dead human but instead, monsters!

' so he was fighting monsters just now... I thought...'

Adam was now planning to ran from embarassment, as he thought earlier that there's a murder, but stopped when the commander spoke to him..

" Who are you?! " the commander asked while holding back his tears.

" Adam...My name is Adam.." , Adam said facing the commander upfront

Silence triumphant as the two look at each other, trying to observe the person before them. This silence fade when Adam began to speak again.

" Ahmm.. I didnt see anything, I was just passing...and.. I think I should go now.. See you later hehe..", Adam said while he starts walking away, but before he could take two steps, a loud laughter from the commander was heard.

" hahaha, hahahh, hahha,...why are you trying to get away, its not like Im gonna hurt you... ahhaha" said the commander while laughing loudly.

Adam starts to face the commmander again with his face becoming slightly red from embarassment, and as he look, he saw tears starts falling from the commanders eyes again.

Tears are falling from the commanders eyes while he was laughing which confuse Adam.

" tears..are you perhaps..., crying? " adam asked timidly as he was afraid of provoking the commander

the commander immediately checked his eyes to look for tears, and as he feels it, his lively face before starts to turn gloomy.

" should I leave?... " , Adam asked as he saw the looks on the commanders face and thought that its good if he leaves.

" no, you dont have to.. " said by the commander, then continued, " Perhaps, can you talk with me for a while? " , the commander said pleadingly

Adam was left with no choice but to agree as he felt the sadness between the words spoken by the commander.

They started searching for a place to sit at. They silently sit on one of the rocks, not saying any words.

A minute later, the commander broke the silence and asked a question.

" what are you doing here deep in the mountain? ", the commander asked as he can feel that Adam was just an F-rank

" Im planning to kill some monsters and level up....also gain battle experience. " , Adam answered truthfully

" Oooh, I see, so you are a dagger user, hmm. " the commander said after seeing the dagger on Adam's waist.

" yes..how about you? , are you here to kill some monsters too? For fun? "

" hahaha, not really, ...I just want to kill some monster to ... to ease this pain.... even by just a little bit.. ", the commander said while looking at his chest as tears began to form on his eyes again.

Adam was schock as he saw the commander starts crying again, he was about to lend him his towel when suddenly, the commander began telling the story of his past.

" I..I had two daughters,... the older was 3 years old, while the younger was only a baby, 4 months old." , The commander said with a smile on his face.

" where are they now? " , Adam asked confusedly

" b..before, years ago, my wife and I had a fight, I was so angry at her that time, so do you know what I did?!.. I drank and drank allnight. After that... I sleep with other woman.. When my wife saw that, she didnt spoke anything and just run....

I was so ashamed that time so I began chasing her to apologize... There's a monster invasion that time and announcement rang but my wife was still running, seemingly clueless...I want to stop her but before I could.." , commander paused as tears began to burst out from his eyes as he reminisce a gruesome scenario

Monster! A large bear-like monster appeared and grip her head... Lifting her.. " the commander said, as he burst into tears again.

" then.. The bear ates her completely... That... time, I saw our child that she was holding falls to the ground before she was eaten... I was so dumbstruck that time...I starts running towards our children thats on the floor hoping to save them..b..b.. but before I could reach themm... The bear... It steps on them .... I saw my daughters body explode like that... I was such an idiot, I was... An Idiot! " the commander said with a tearful eyes.

Adam was staring at the commaner like a dumb as he dont know what he should say or do. Adam was not the sort of person who gave advice to others, so he's trying to look for word that might be comforting. Soon, Adam began speaking....

" I.. If I were your daughter... I would not wish to see you in this state.. I would not want to see you live your life full of guilt..

I would rather want you to live your life ordinarily... I would not wish to see you suffering. " , Adam said as he was looking at the void and it seems that those words was actually meant for himself...

Meanwhile, the commander heard him and began to stop crying, it seems that the word from Adam actually comforts him.

A later while, commander saw the serious looks on Adam's eyes, so he then call Adam's attention while making clown face..

" then would you rather see me like this.. " , commander said as he make a funny face

As Adam starts to look at the commander, he first notices the funny face of the commander and feels like laughing as it was so funny...

" Pfft " , Adam said while holding his laughs. But..., he wasnt able to..

" Pfft, hahahahah, whats with the face hahaha", Adam said joyfully.

The commander also laugh loudly. Laughter triumphant between the two..
