"I'll need you to get close to the Necromancer so your magic can take effect." Gardenvor said, making his way towards the fields.

The setting sun blanketed the fields in an orange hue. Silhouettes of the husks in the fields became like giants, covering the very grass and soil beneath them. Dusk was going to be soon, the tone from Gardenvor felt serious, as if our objective was on a timer. The air felt heavy as my nerves started to flare up.

I couldn't stop my hands from shaking. The power that ran through me was still tingling in my muscles. The essence of the husk that felt my wrath was still cycling through and into my own body, strengthening me. The fatigue dwindled, though, fear remained in my very soul.

"You got it?" Gardenvor spoke sternly, the look in his eyes saying that this plan meant life or death.

"Got it..." I replied, reserved.

The stench of the undead, rotten, decaying corpses reanimated to do nothing but serve under their masters will filled our nostrils. A smell that'd be forever recognized as I tried not to gag. "Why me? What did I do to deserve this? I didn't want this."

Frustration and confusion started to take hold as my hands clenched. I have already almost been killed twice. Was I going to let it happen for a third time, and truly die?

My hands started to go numb as my vision started to flood with a bright purple hue, my muscles starting to tingle even more. The power flooded through my veins, Gardenvor looking back at me, his eyes showing shock as he looked in my direction, then a grin that felt almost as sinister as his personality.

The first husk ran at us without hesitation, screaming and flailing towards me. My hand lifted and aimed right at the husk, my brows furrowing, "Cease." I spoke, my voice booming with a powerful undertone.

The husk rag dolled and fell right at my feet as its skin turned to ash and bones started to wither. Nothing felt more satisfying than letting the power take control. Husks came in waves, Gardenvor unsheathing his sword and slicing a husk right through the abdomen and up through its skull, falling over as its last moments were it gurgling in pain.

"I just want to go home... I just want to go home... LET ME GO HOME!" My throat strained as I screamed, feeling my hands tingle with overwhelming strength. As I raised my hand, my vision blurred heavily as my mind started to tingle with a sharp pain. It was starting to be too much to handle, but the power felt so good. I felt powerful, strong, like they were bugs under my feet. Every sound around me was drowned out as a smile cracked across my face.

My hand opened as a tingle shot from my finger tips and deep into my heart. Muffled noises of bodies collapsing filled my ears, as if rain drops falling from the sky and hitting concrete. My body felt weightless as I felt the power take hold of me. It was as if nothing can touch me.

A static charge shocked the right of my brain, a powerful enemy was making their way in my direction. I turned to face the foe, feeling a sinister smile painting my face. Raising my hand, the power tingled, as if wanting to be released. The pain was starting to become too much as my mind throbbed. Knowing that I needed to let go of all the power I have built up, I release it all in one direction.

My vision finally came to as the saturation of the sunset came back. A purple mist blanketed the fields as withered bones and ash covered the grass at my feet. Gardenvor came over and picked me up.

"Are you alright?" He spoke, worried.

"I-I'm alright, my head hurts." A pained reply, feeling as if my head was going to explode.

"I think that was a bit overkill, you vanquished them into dust..." Gardenvor spoke, a bit of fear in his voice.

"I guess I did my job then."

The world became a blur as I felt my vision darken.
