CHAPTER 8: COUNTDOWN

Lucas jumped up, his forehead collided with the cover of the pod he was in. His body was sore in multiple areas, the body suit that came with the game did its job splendidly when it came to intensifying even the slightest of damage.

Lucas raised his hand and saw the cubic design, a sigh escaped his lips.

Things were becoming more complicated.

The Shadow King, and Merlin.

The goal he was given, the purpose of the sword of Kusanagi, and how he had to fulfill it.

Everything was a pain... A pain in his ass, and he could not figure out a way to challenge them.

Shaking his head, Lucas pushed the thoughts aside. He had to prepare for the second-floor boss, if he hoped to get his questions answered.

Getting out of his pod, Lucas made his way to his desktop on the table across the room and propped down on the chair.

His fingers tapped on the surface as he awaited the screen to light up.
