Erickson Daniels, don't play innocent here, didn't you know that there is a chance of Mina  having cancer, you are a doctor and you should know better.

That is the more reason why you need to trust me on this, the chances are slim infact is not heritable, only if she does something to trigger it and besides she get check up every month and if there's anything, we can treat it immediately but I know there won't be a problem, I have her chart and she's not showing any sign. 

Look Erickson, I agree with your Dad on this we can't have you Marry someone who has the tendency of becoming terminally ill sooner or later

If you will have me go through a marriage of convenience because of business, I will consent with you only if it is Mina, I said looking at them sternly, I pick up my fork, let's eat guys is getting late, I told them as if we never had the conversation.

After dinner, I was pacing forth and back at the balcony, I just find out about the cancer from Mina this afternoon, I know it something painful, she couldn't be going around telling everyone, how did my parent find out.

Resting my elbow on the railings, I look at the full moon light, the breeze blowing on my face, it would have been nice to enjoy such a breezy night without a burdensome mind

Eric, I heard a footstep behind me,  I look back to find the butler coming towards me

Is everything alright, I saw you pacing back and forth, is it the business or you have a patient at the hospital.

Julius is more of an uncle to me ever since he started working as a butler in our home, he's kind, cool, hardworking and caring, he does his works as if we are his family and we grew so close to each other over time

 Straining my eyes, I move closer to the moon light to see the object very well, what is this, I ask 

Is it not yours, I told Gabriel you said he should trash the suit, he insists on trying his best to remove the stain, and while he was at it, he found that in your pocket and gave it to me, I taught it must be something important and here I am.

No have never see this before, and it's found in my pocket which I don't remember putting it there 

How did it get there then 

I don't know, and I don't know what this is 

I think I really need to call P, Julius reply 

Please do and give this to him, I want answers before tomorrow ends I said giving the object back to him

Good evening Daddy, evening mom, hi Elizabeth, I greeted grabbing a sit beside Dad. Good evening, dad reply, how is the project going 

Is going fine, the sample should be ready in a week

That's good, he said, we all started eating

Half way through dinner, I saw Dad hesitating for a moment 

Clearing his throat he finally speak up 

Earlier in the day, I received a call from the Daniels about an important issue, which I have decided to keep to myself for some reasons, but as of this moment, the Daniels have denied of any relationship between you and their son, he said looking at me.

But to keep our relationship they have decided to have Elizabeth marry Erickson. 

Dad, how can you allow that when he's already in a relationship with my sister, how do you expect me to go out with someone I already see as my brother in-law, Elizabeth said with all seriousness 

Elizabeth this is not for you to decide, the marriage contract has to go on and if it didn't work out with your sister, then you have to give it a trial too.

But Dad...........

Enough Elizabeth, prepare to have lunch with him anytime soon and do not embarrass me.

I wanted to act indifferent about what he said, but honestly I don't know what I feel for Eric yet and something in me makes me feel like I own him and not give him to someone else 

I open my mouth to ask why, facing my Dad, 

Mina see me in the study after dinner

The rest of the dinner go on in silent, hardly could one hear the sound of cutlery on the dish.

After dinner, I waste no time following Dad into his study.

Mina tomorrow morning before going to the office, we will go somewhere together, it very important.

Alright Dad, but I want to know why the Daniels would change their mind all of a sudden 

You don't worry yourself about that, the appointment is set for 9am tomorrow, we go from home, you can go and turn in for the night, he said picking up his own to write, obviously done with me

I went back to my room prepare to make some changes for the coffee shop, I open up my laptop and unlocking my phone, I saw miss calls from Eric.

Brazing myself to listen to what he have to say I dialed his number. Maybe he doesn't like me after all, did I do something wrong during the lunch, but then why would he ask me out, do I look some joke to him, I keep on wondering when his voice chim in.

Hi Mina, I hope you are fine 

Yes, I am, how about you? 

Am good, so do you want to have dinner with me tomorrow, he ask 

Eric I believe you heard from your parents just as I did mine 

Mina don't worry about that, it nothing serious okay, we gat this uhn 

Seeing you very calm , you must know the reason behind their decision then, so tell me what is it? 

I don't know, but it okay, I made myself clear already, it you I want, no one else

I could hear my heart beating sweet rhythm into my hears hearing Eric telling me he wants only me, 

I don't know what to say Eric 

You don't have to say anything, just agree to the dinner 

Alright then dinner tomorrow, I answered with a shy smile on my face.

So, I will see you tomorrow, and yes I will be late coming in to the office tomorrow, I have an important appointment, I already told wilson to reschedule our meeting.

Alright, good night Eric

Sleep well, he replied.

I drop the call and went straight to bed, I didn't want to think about anything for now, the project is enough to be on my mind.

The next morning, I set out with my Dad in his car, he didn't tell me where we are going but I guess I will when we get there, but then I didn't know I will be this surprise when we arrive at the city central hospital.

Wait, why are we here,

We are here to run some test on you ofcause, this is a hospital, my Dad anwered

Is this why the Daniels change their mind, did they perhaps taught am pregnant with some one elses child, because I can't think of any plausible reason, have taught about a lot of reasons and I ran out of reasons.

Still thinking of why my Dad brought me here, I found myself behind Dad in front of Eric's office, my head is now going front and back center with different taughts.

I wasn't the only one surprise to see him, my Dad was surprise and obviously Eric was surprise to see us.

Are you the one am expecting, he ask, facing my Dad.
