Alex walked into the washroom leaving Lillie's side temporarily. He stared at his reflection in the mirror and saw his dark eyes, he closed his eyes and breaths deeply and exhaled slowly and then leaned forward to fetch the water from the faucet with his hands and pour it on his face. The coldness of the water gave a sense of refreshment to him.

With that, he was able to put his mind to rest and his thoughts in order. He couldn't believe he almost lost control over himself.

He walks out of the washroom and found that Raal and Kevin had already arrived and sitting comfortably on the couch chatting. How did he not sense them or pick up their scent? Was he that distracted that his senses failed him? It seems that she has that much power over him to distract his senses completely.

He walked over to them and sat across them while they stood and gave a slight bow of their heads to show their respect. "Have you done all that I told you to do?" Alex asked as soon as he was seated.

"Yes, Alpha, it is done," Real said while Kevin nodded. Though they responded to him, their gaze was on Lillie. Alex noticed this and a small frown appears on his face. Then, understanding that they were confused he eased down a bit.

Alex was about to speak when Kevin beat him to it and asked straight away, not beating about the bushes. He could not stay in the dark. Heck, he did not want to stay in the dark. He and Raal were his beta and gamma so they had the right to know everything about their alpha.

"Alpha, who is she? Someone, we should know?" he asked while still looking at Lillie.

"She is your Luna and queen," Alex said without explaining any further.

The beta and gamma pairs looked at the man before them like they were expecting him to 'ha, just kidding' to them at any moment. How are they supposed to believe something like that? A human has never been mated to a shifter before. Never. This would be the first if it were true.

"Alpha, are you saying that she is your mate?" Real asked looking very confused or probably refusing to believe what he just heard.

"Yes, that is exactly what I am saying."

"But that can be. How can that be?" Kevin asked.

"...."

"Alex," Kevin called when he received no reply. Sometimes Raal and Kevin often call him by his name whenever they were alone with no one else present and Alex does not mind. Those two have been with him for a long time now and they are more like brothers to him.

Alex turned to him and arched a brow without saying a word.

"Alex, we are not understanding you right now, she is a human, how can she be your mate?"

"When you meet Selene, feel free to ask her about it." Alex deadpanned, making Raal chuckle lightly from the side while Kevin pouted in annoyance.

"Call for Cecile and tell her that I want her to come here as soon as possible," Alex said looking at Raal. He nodded and stood to his feet and walked out of the room to make a call.

A few minutes later he walked back in and said, " I have asked Mark to go and get her, she should be here before sunrise." He said and only got an "Mmm," as a reply from Alex.

"You should go and have a bath, alpha, or at least have a change of clothes. That way you will be much more comfortable waiting for her." Real advised but the man was Dead serious about not leaving her alone at the hospital.

"No. I will not leave her side. You can bring a change of clothes for me, I'll stay here." Alex said, firmly not giving room for any objection.

Left with no other choice, Raal and Kevin left and went back to the villa. Alex went to check on Lillie and then returned to the couch and sat down and threw back on the headrest and lazily closed his eyes in exhaustion.

A short while later, a knock was heard from behind the door, he knew who it was by the scent and ignored it knowing that the person would enter whether or not he gave his permission.

Receiving no response from inside, the door was pushed open and a woman walked in. She stops by the door and scanned the room, she found the man who had asked her to come on the couch with his eyes closed and her brows knotted in confusion.

She walked over to him and stood in front of him, "My king!" she greeted. Alex turned opened his eyes and saw a frown on her face. She was worried when they told her that the king was in the hospital and wants her there. She thought he was hurt and that it might be serious to have gone to the hospital. Shifters could heal themselves and needed not to visit a hospital unless it was serious she hurriedly came to see him only to find him sitting on the couch, looking as healthy as always.

"You are here, Cecile!" he said and sat up straight.

"I thought you were sick," Cecile said as she sat across from him.

"I am fine."

"Then why did you call for me? I was worried you know." Cecile said and a look of concern was clear in her eyes and tone.

Alex said nothing but he turned his head toward the bed and his gaze fixed on Lillie and said, "Her."

Cecile followed his gaze and found the unconscious girl lying on the bed on her back with an IV drip on her arm. "Oh, goddess!" she exclaimed, "what happened to her?" she asked and moved forward to examine Lillie's body.

Alex followed her closely but kept silent. Cecile reached out to Lillie's hand and her eyes went blank for a second and she mumbled the word, "Vampires," with venom in her voice.

Alex nodded to her and added more details, " There are werewolves as well. It should I say, rogues?" he said with clenched fists rage burning in his eyes.

"As expected of them," Cecile said, nodding in understanding. "They will do anything to bring you down, my king, please be more careful especially now that she is with you."

"I know and I will. But for now, I want you to heal her."

"I will, she is my queen if I don't heal her then what is my duty to her?" Cecile with a smile and began healing Lillie. "Do you know her name, my king?" she asked with her eyes on Lillie.

"I didn't the opportunity to ask," he said with a blank tone and an expressionless face. Cecile laughed when she heard him and shook her head at his tone.
