The College -2!

"Hello!", the voice was enthusiastic as the man greeted everyone with a simple but sharp smile. Kisan pushed his chair to Professor Jonas and grabbed another one from the side. Shekhar moved a small ball in his hand and threw it at Jonas, and a smile appeared on his face.

"Here is the thing you asked for, Professor!" Shekhar calmly said. Everyone's ears perked up as they got ready to listen to the explanation.

"This ball contains some data from the biology department, it's about research done by other professors on certain genetics," Professor Jonas looked at Amita as he threw his words out of his mouth.

"But why do you need it, Prof?" Kisan's eyes fell on Shekhar as he asked the question.

"There is something wrong in that department, I have some suspicion that they have stolen data from another third-world country and made it their own," Jonas replied with a stern expression. Everyone looked at each other and couldn't think of saying anything.

"But you have made this public now, Prof! Don't you think it's gonna damage the reputation of the institute?" The boy with dyed brown hair frowned.

"That's not my problem. If the institution is full of thieves, today or another day, it will have to come down," Jonas replied without any expression this time. "And they had already questioned our chemical department just because a chemical was leaked in the air."

"So you are taking revenge, hmm? It's more of like an act of vengeance than work of right act,"

Amita's prying eyes revealed an unusual expression with a bit of impoliteness in her words.

"Say whatever you want, I must identify problems and rectify them through the following processes," Though Jonas's expressions were stoic, his softened words still gave it away.

"Immature and full of nonsense," Amita rolled her eyes and looked away.

"What do you mean by that, even if I am doing it with the intention of revenge, it's still a right act,"

Jonas backed himself up with a righteous expression this time.

"Intentions do matter sometimes, Jonas. And you know you are bluntly claiming it in public, just because you are blinded in revenge and want to return humiliation to them doesn't mean that you will not think of consequences!" Amita's words this time were not kind and people around them noticed the tension in the atmosphere."And you Shekhar gave the secured information away just because this man requested, I had better expectations from this college's renowned student and the professor,"

"Hey, you do not even know internal stuff, Amita, stop blaming Shekhar without any prior knowledge," Kisan protested with an annoyed expression.

Thud!

Shekhar tapped the table and his eyes looked into Amita's two, making the scene awkward for a moment.

"You have such beautiful sharp eyelashes yet quite dull observation," Shekhar gave a sentence and took out a simple white plain paper. Amita was shocked for a moment and choked on her sentence. She didn't expect such words from him.

"damn!" The dyed brown-haired boy let out a word in surprise. Even Kisan was flabbergasted for a moment.

"Meet me at the class!" Shekhar put the laptop in the bag as he strolled away with the white paper in his left hand.

"Alright, let's see what he has got in his hands, it better be something convincing otherwise the day is not quite a good one for you," Amita fixed her white shirt and followed Shekhar.

"And people ask me why I want to remain single," the brown-haired boy scoffed and went back to studying his stuff.

In the messy classroom, Shekhar turned on his computer and opened up a file while drawing something on the white paper, from a closer look, it looked like a geometrical-shaped object.

"It looks like Quagga, isn't it?" Shekhar's eyes revealed a devilish look as his tapping became faster and faster.

"An African extinct animal?" Amita took a closer look while pondering.

"Hmm, now look at this data from another university in Africa, the details of the diagram of body stripping, it was there in a paper around twenty years ago, but our college claimed they drew it five years ago and they even won some national level awards for it," Shekhar made a same drawing using the data in the computer.

"What the hell?" Amita's eyes widened as she snatched the mouse from Shekhar's hand and frantically scrolled down.

"No, no! Prof Kumar can't do that, How is that possible?" Amita's heart began beating faster as she wiped the sweat off her forehead.

She was a student under Prof Kumar and dreamed of discovering something new in her domain but now it seems to be shattering as her Professor himself faked his achievements.

"Calm down, there is more," Shekhar with a tight face and gloomy eyes extracted details of another genetic information and handed over two pieces of paper to Amita.

"Ever wonder why they never published their discoveries outside of the nation and created a limited exposure, see it yourself."

Amita's hands were shaking and she desperately tried to extract details from both documents finally she couldn't help herself and fell on the ground with lost expression but a hand took her in his arms.

For a moment, Amita was lost in a trance after tears began rolling down her eyes. Images of her working day and night for her subject and not getting any achievements, finally made her think she was not competent enough to discover something.

But today, she realised it wasn't her competence, but her professor's incompetence was the main cause.

"What a waste of talent, I told her to pursue the degree abroad but she didn't listen to me, now look at her," Jonas took a deep breath and sighed.

A common man may not understand their dedication towards their subject, but Professors like Jonas very well understood that their subjects were like their life.

Leaving everything to dedicate your life to one subject and later realising you wasted all these years was nothing less than a nightmare.
