"Wait! Don't go!" Rose called out, stopping Kieran just before he made it out of the room.
He turned around, narrowing his eyes. "What?"
"Did you really come here because you were bored?" she asked, her eyes widening as a sudden thought struck her. "No way! Did you sense my period cramps all the way from your house? That's crazy!"
Kieran scoffed, flicking her forehead. "No, dummy. I didn't come here to cure your cramps."
"Ow!" Rose rubbed her forehead, frowning. "Then why?"
"I guess I also came here to ask you out on a date," he replied, adding quickly, "Only because my father's making me do it."
"Oh." Rose's mind went blank for a moment, caught off guard.
"So… do you want to go out to dinner with me tomorrow?" he asked.
"No," she answered immediately, without a hint of hesitation.
Kieran stared at her, his eyes widening, clearly surprised.
