Chapter One

(Knock knock).... The knock on my door woke me up from my sleep, "Who is it?" i asked half awake.

Don't tell me you are still asleep, do you know what time it is? i heard the voice of my evil step mother at the door and the sleep that was still in my eyes disappeared, i was wide awake.

I quickly got up and checked the time on my phone... Shit!! it's past 8 i said in panic and hurried to get ready ignoring the annoying voice of my step mother at the door. Today was my first day at work and i'm already 5 mins late. OMG!! Why today of all days!!.

i knew now hard it took me to get that job and now here i am, blowing it. Good job Kal! i said as i massaged my temples and hurried to the bathroom.

i finished bathing in less than 5 mins, i couldn't waste more time. I opened my wardrobe, scanning through the clothes to see which i would wear. my eyes landed on a green dress... "perfect" i whispered and laid it on my bed.

I looked at myself in the mirror and frowned.... my hair had grown way too long, i thought about cutting it but i was already late. reluctantly, i packed it into a messy bun and quickly put on the gown.

as i looked at myself in the mirror, my eyes widened in shock; What the f**k was i wearing?

The gown was sleeveless, and it had a cut in the front that exposed my chest. It didn't look too bad but this wasn't my style of dressing making me wonder when i got the dress. it hugged me firmly and i was sure i would be the center of attraction if i wore this on my first day of work.

The loud sound from the door, broke my chain of thoughts as i watched mother barge in uninvited with an angry look on her face.

"I have been standing outside your door knocking for close to an hour and you were awake the entire time?" she asked in a high pitched voice and i almost rolled my eyes, she was so dramatic.

Good morning mo..... i was interrupted with a deafening slap on my face. the sound of bells ringing echoed and for a moment i thought i had lost my hearing.

"What is so good about this morning?" she asked and i blinked away the tears that threatened to fall from my eyes.

"You were supposed to wake up early and prepare breakfast for your siblings but now you are all dolled up ready to go spread open your legs for that broke ass boyfriend of yours" She spat out in disgust.

"I am off to work mother" i said and turned around. i wasn't going to show her how deep her words affected me.

"Finally.... i am so glad you finally found one" she said with a cheerful voice and i rolled my eyes at how quick she was to switch moods.

she was such a Chameleon.

"Hurry now, before you are late, forget the breakfast i'll handle it" she said as she tried to push my out my room but i held my ground.

I removed my hand from her grip, walked up to my wardrobe and pulled out my black jacket.

Before she could say anything, i grabbed my bag and walked out the room. I wasn't in the mood to exchange words with her anyway

The sun woke me up as early as 6am today, but i didn't feel like getting out of bed. I was not sleepy, but i was exhausted. Yesterday was hectic because of the on going war between the Blood moon pack and the silver moon pack and as the Supreme Alpha, it was my job to end the war. After a lot of bloodshed and negotiations, they were able to come to a compromise. I thought it was all over but last night, i received a call from Caelan to come over for a meeting with the new shareholders of my company at Canada.

I wanted to Cancel the meeting, but i later found that it was not just a meeting, it was another arranged date my mother had set up with a family in an attempt to find my mate.

I thought i told her i was done with this? i sighed and massaged my temples, i didn't want to spoil my mother's reputation so i decided to go.

i bathed and dressed up in my regular black suit and headed out. When i landed in Canada, Caelan sent some of his Guards to come pick me from the airport because he could not make it. Caelan was my right hand man, my beta and my best friend. We've known each other from childhood and we grew up together. But after my dad's sudden and mysterious death, I was to become the next alpha, and i was just 12 years then but because i had no other sibling, i had to continue from were my father left off.

And when i grew older, i asked Caelan to be my beta and though hesitant at first, he later agreed. After a few years of working together, the elders suggested that Caelan goes to Canada to manage the upcoming company there. i couldn't stop him from leaving because i knew he was the best man for the job and after 10 years, i could finally meet him again.
