" I will worry about it myself. If he is as good an emperor as you say, then he will allow me to speak the truth. And if not then I can more than handle myself if need be. For now, the kids should be up soon, and they'll wonder what happened to you. Let's get you cleaned up, okay?"

Yifei nodded her head slowly, her eyes still closed. But once she did open them, she looked at me and smiled softly.

" Thank you." She spoke once again.

" Of course. Anytime you need help I'll be there." I reached down and rubbed her head again. She was too good of a person to experience such a horrible thing.

" Will you come with me?" Yifei asked. " I don't want to be alone." She spoke.

Yifei led me out of the house. It was still early, and the sun had yet to rise. It was still dark.

We both walked down to the nearest river, I had been the one to carry the buckets of water, since they were light, I offered to carry them alone. Once we had filled the multiple buckets we returned to the house where, Yifei fetched a large wooden barrel. It was big enough to easily fit two people.

She instructed me to place the buckets outside and wait while she prepared to fix them.

" I'm sorry. I wish we could use the bath house, but I do not have much money, and this is all I can do for now." Yifei explained.

" Do you need money? I pulled multiple bags full of small coins of the soldiers. If you need it then please Yifei, take them." I told the woman; I pulled out the bags of coins, called Yuanbao, which were all silver and gold and handed them to her. She took the bags and her hands dropped down low. Seeing she was struggling to hold them I carefully picked both back up. " Sorry about that. They're so light I didn't think."

" It's okay... But are you sure you want to give us all of that? I mean wouldn't you be better off using it to get your own place?" She asked.

" No, I want you to have it Yifei. You take the money and use it to get yourself a better place, better food, use it to support yourself and the kids." I told the woman.

Yifei nodded and took one of the bags from me and stuffed it into her robe. She grabbed me by hand and led towards the wooden barrel. She grabbed the buckets of hot water and started pouring them into the large barrel.

She stuck her hand inside to make sure it was warm and once she was sure she reached for her robes.

I turned around to give her privacy, but she stopped me.
