Chapter 36 The Lizard

Tom walked to school the next day and immediately perked up as he saw Peter in his class.

Though he felt that something was wrong as Peter was not in his right state of mind, Tom didn't take any action as he took his class, helped the students clear up some problems as he went around the class.

Finally the classes ended, Tom still had one freshmen class to take so he decided to leave early, though that was all a facade as he saw Peter tailing him.

"Professor!" Tom turned around and greeted,

"Yes Peter, do you have any problems you don't understand," Tom asked with a smile.

"Professor, I have a question to ask of you,"

"Ask away," Tom spoke as he and Peter walked through the crowd of students.

"How would you hunt a lizard? I mean, how would a Spider go about hunting a lizard?" Peter asked, almost breaking off his act.

Tom stopped in his track as he turned around and gave Peter a look that said 'Are you kidding me.'

"Lizards are at the top of their foodchain, it would be extremely hard for the spider to win, let alone kill a lizard, but who knows, nothing is set in stone."

Tom replied as he noticed the way Peter shifted,

'This bastard went and done it, I told him not to get carried away, now Connors is probably a wizard,' Tom thought as he rubbed his temple.

"Thank you professor," peter left in disappointment while Tom immediately took out his phone and saw the news.

"As expected, It's the lizard," Tom thought as he saw the news about the spiderman saving countless peoples lives over the bridge.

"Now might be a good time as any, though I still have classes to take," Tom thought as he felt that taking classes was getting more troublesome than it should be.

"Leave it, Peter is about to graduate, I will just leave and apply where he is going at, he is my main and biggest source of GP among all the students anyway," Tom muttered as he entered the class.

The day was finally over, it was finally evening and Tom left the school as soon as the bell rung.

Usually he would start training by this time in order to get strong, his recent plans of training the Marine arts were now changed due to the recent events concerning Peter Parker.

"Now where did Peter go, let me think," Tom thought as he stood above an eagle of the Empire State.

After some more thoughts, he finally remembered that Lizards themselves were much more in Sewers, which reminded him of the scene of Peter nearly dying due to the lizard's attack.

"I guess the sewers it is," Tom immediately flew off and headed for the sewers, he put the hermes boots back in his storage ring as he knew that they might get hurt.

Soon Tom started running around looking for Peter, with a bit of twists and turns, Tom noticed a fine Web in his way, so he started trailing it, it didn't take him long to come upon Peter who was busy playing on his phone.

"You know distractions like these could get you killed," Peter who was relaxed suddenly flipped mid air and shot a web at Tom, who easily dodged it.

"Woah! So it's the famous Magician," Peter stepped back warily as he looked at Tom.

It couldn't be helped as Fisk had done everything in his power to make both Daredevil and Tom look like bag guys.

"I wouldn't say that, some would say you are more famous,"

"What are you doing here?" Peter asked as he jumped down from the ceiling, landing in front of Tom.

"Looking for a criminal" Tom replied simply as he looked around at the giant web spanning over the sewers

"You know!" Peter was surprised by this, as not many were willing to believe in his story of the lizard.

Not even Captain Stacy who thought he was a genius believed in him, and Connors was also acting weird, not coming to the lab for a few days,

Tom also hadn't gone to the lab as Connors had given everyone a week off.

"Yes, I was there that day, I am sorry I couldn't help you as I was busy getting the others out of the way of harm," Tom replied as he noticed a lot of Lizards moving on one of the weblines.

"It's alright I guess, though how did you know to come here,"

"The same way you did, where would a giant two meters tall Lizard go to hide," Tom asked back as he smiled.

Though Peter couldn't see that as Tom was wearing a mask.

Suddenly Peter who was about to speak shut up as he looked at the webline.

"He's here," Peter whispered as he slowly moved forward.

Tom followed suit as this will help him get closer to spiderman and gain more GP by saving hum for the claws.
