Chapter 97: Coming Again
"So, you're going to take her? My cousin?"
After a brief explanation, Clark Kent, also known as Superman, understood the purpose of Thor's visit.
Thor had no reason to hide his intentions.
"So, would you like to go to another world?"
Clark seemed quite relaxed and wasn't rushing to express his opinion. Instead, he asked the girl beside him for her thoughts.
In a way, letting her make her own decision showed his stance, much like a parent asking their daughter in a TV show: "Do you want to go with him?"
The girl hesitated and said softly, "My original mission on Earth was to protect you. But now, you're the most powerful being in this world, and you don't need my protection. I don't have a mission anymore…"
"After all, the world only needs one Superman. I want to try a different life!"
Clark nodded. "Well, I hope you can let her have a safe and happy childhood."
"I will."
Thor said, taking the girl's hand and walking slowly into the portal.
"Wait, your hammer."
A voice came from behind. Thor turned his head to see Clark throwing the hammer back to him...
A few minutes after Thor disappeared, a luxurious Batmobile roared up beside Clark.
A man in a black battle suit stepped out of the car, surveyed the scene, and asked, "He left? Your cousin left too?"
Clark chuckled. "Isn't this exactly what you wanted? You've always been wary of humans or non-humans with powerful abilities."
Bruce Wayne shook his head. "I just think you letting him go will cause Diana to give you trouble…"
"Here, from now on, will be your room."
He guided the girl to the room on the top floor and showed her where Thor had placed her.
When this room was first built, it was designed as a panoramic room. Every wall could become transparent, and it had a very nice balcony.
In addition to its great view, the room's main feature was its sunbathing convenience.
The poor girl had no idea that this handsome uncle planned to turn her into a chocolate...
"Allow me to introduce Thor Odinson, born on another planet like you, in a place called Asgard."
The girl whispered, " Kara Zor-El, but just call me Kayla. What should I call you? Uncle? Or brother?"
"You should call me Big Brother."
It was already enough of a headache with Natalia calling him uncle all the time; Peggy Carter and others often regarded him like an animal.
One more... would be unbearable...
"Boom boom boom—"
There was a sudden knock on the door, and Pepper Potts burst in.
"Who is she?"
Pepper looked helpless. "Boss, I won't comment on you bringing the girl here, but isn't she a bit young?"
Indeed, without counting the twenty-four years she slept in the universe, Supergirl Kayla was only thirteen years old, one year younger than Natalia back then...
Thor stretched out his finger and tapped her head. "What are you thinking? She is my sister."
Pepper Potts glanced at him with disdain. "Forget it. What are you explaining to me? By the way, Obadiah has been waiting in the living room for half an hour. It seems he has something to discuss with you."
"I'll be right there. Oh, by the way, where is my sister?"
"Finally, you're here! I need to discuss something very important with you!"
Obadiah had waited in the living room for half an hour, without even being offered a cup of tea!
Suppressing his irritation, he immediately launched into an explanation about Stark's decision and concluded, "Stark must be crazy, wanting to shut down the weapons department! The shareholders are furious. If you don't stop him, our shares will soon be worthless!"
"So?" Thor's expression remained impassive, though he secretly sneered—these ignorant fools would soon see Stark Industries' shares soar, and he would be waiting to collect.
Thor had no intention of buying in at a low price. The shares in retail investors' hands were limited, and he wasn't interested in such a small amount of money. He was ready to deal with the fat cat Obadiah.
Seeing Obadiah's face freeze as people walked in behind him, Thor smiled. "Mr. Stane, compared to Stark's issues, I think we have another matter to discuss."
Obadiah's face turned pale as he recognized the individuals walking in—those he had hired to assassinate Thor, who had mysteriously disappeared.
