Chapter 59: Reluctant to Part with the Tesseract, but Not with Thanos

As the Lord of the Nine Realms, Odin's actions always had immense impact. When he took a stand, he stunned the entire universe. Many remembered the years when he wielded his power over Cosmos.

After all these years, with Hela gone, the Valkyrie army defeated, and even the old Odin nearing his end, it was thought that Asgard had fallen and no longer posed a threat.

But it turned out Odin was even stronger now—once an god, always an God!

In some corner of the universe, a certain purple-skinned entity frowned—Odin's display of power was alarming. After all, there were at least two Infinity Stones in the Nine Realms!

Perhaps sending a scout to explore would be wise. Ideally, someone from Asgard's lead party...

Although everyone knew Odin was aging, no one, except Odin himself, knew how long he could live.

People's lifespans vary, and while they may be considered old, some manage to live an additional five hundred years.

Odin's display of strength was remarkably effective. For a long time after, the entire galaxy's atmosphere improved, with Asgardians holding their heads high wherever they went.

However, Odin himself was not in great shape.

Setting aside his weapon he summoned back, Odin exhaled heavily.

Frigga, concerned, asked, "Why push yourself so hard? If you truly want to teach them a lesson, our army is sufficient."

Odin shook his head. "You don't understand. This universe has lost its respect for Asgard. Even mortal forces dare to disregard us. It's necessary to issue a warning now so that Thor will have fewer issues to address in the future."

His expression grew more weary. "I need to enter Odin's sleep to replenish my divine power. You've been quite worried lately. Also, find a reason to send Sif to Earth..."

The grand changes in the universe had not affected Earth much; people continued their daily routines of eating and sleeping.

It was Thor who noticed the rainbow arching high in the sky and pondered its significance.

As Nick Fury and Talos slowly descended in their spaceship, they saw Thor in his armor and red cloak, with Captain Marvel lying on the ground with Mjölnir resting on her chest.

Nick Fury asked, "What... are you doing?"

Talos, noticing Thor's armor, exclaimed, "Asgardian? My goodness, you're a royal Asgardian! No wonder..."

Nick Fury, intrigued, asked, "Are Asgardians aliens like the Skrulls?"

Talos nodded. "Yes, they are born as the most powerful warriors. They were once a symbol of absolute power in this universe, though they've been relatively low-profile in recent years... By the way, Earth still seems to be under Asgard's domain."

Nick Fury was stunned.

Carol, lying on the ground, suddenly shouted angrily, "Are you done talking? Thor, let me go! What is your hammer made of? Why is it so heavy?"

She began to doubt her super abilities.

If not for this peculiar hammer, which seemed unaffected by gravity, she, once considered a top-tier hero, might be crushed by its weight...

In reality, Mjölnir weighs less than 20 kilograms. The true reason people can't lift it is Odin's enchantment.

Either one must be recognized by Mjölnir or be stronger than Odin—clearly, Captain Marvel fell short.

Thor, retrieving Mjölnir, ignored Carol's irritated glare.

Carol also noticed something strange about the hammer.

"Hey, what's wrong with your eyes?"

Carol suddenly turned to Nick Fury.

"It's a long story... I trusted someone who was wrong..."

Nick Fury's face showed distress.

"That's nonsense; the cat's claw marks are still visible!"

Thor suddenly had a thought, took out the Tesseract, and handed it to Nick Fury. "Take this. It belongs to S.H.I.E.L.D."

Nick Fury was surprised. Could he really get this item back after it was handed over?

A voice echoed in Thor's mind: "Hey, why are you so willing? That's the Tesseract, an Infinity Stone!"

"I'm still waiting for Thanos to provide the equipment..."

"Tsk, tsk, I didn't realize you had such a big plan!"

Nick Fury took the Tesseract and examined it carefully. Meanwhile, the orange cat next to him was eyeing it with interest.

With a "squeak," the Tesseract, which hadn't yet warmed up, disappeared, leaving the Flerken with an innocent expression...
