Chapter 44: You Are Not a Kree
A strange silence filled the cockpit.
Then, the figure on the screen lowered his voice and said, "What you want is here. Come and get it if you can."
"How dare you insult the noble Kree! This is an outrage!"
The one who roared was Branchar, the strongest among the Star Troopers. With a rugged appearance, he looked like a formidable fighter.
However, this was merely a superficial impression. In reality, Branchar's role was similar to that of Black Dwarf among Thanos's four generals—primarily as a tool and cannon fodder.
Due to his uncivilized, barbaric image, he occupied the lowest rank in the hierarchy of the self-proclaimed civilized Kree Star Troopers.
But this time, his anger was shared by others.
With a grim expression, Yon Rogg contemplated for a moment before opening another communication channel.
"Planet C-53 has brazenly declared war on the great Kree. They must be taught a lesson."
It's just a primitive planet. They can be disregarded unless they provoke, in which case, he would be more than happy to retaliate.
On the other end of the communication, the accuser Ronan grinned menacingly: "Understood."
"I will bring Vers back. Then... your task will be to annihilate this planet and erase all evidence of its existence!"
Ronan's smile widened with sinister intent.
…
Thor's bold proclamation left Nick Fury unable to suppress a thumbs-up.
It was indeed bold!
Carol snatched the communicator from him and shouted, "What are you doing? Do you realize that this could spell disaster for your planet!"
Though her memory was still incomplete, her vague recollections made her feel deeply connected to Earth, and she did not want to see it destroyed.
Thor shrugged: "Let them come!"
"You're insane!"
Carol muttered under her breath, rubbing her head in frustration.
Forget it, it's time to step in and mediate...
"Hey, are you really going to be okay?"
Nick Fury quietly pulled Thor aside and asked.
Although he was confused, he understood that aliens were now on Earth. Thor's bravado was impressive, but inviting enemies beyond their capacity to fight was reckless...
"Don't worry. I will handle it, even if the sky falls."
Can you handle it?
Nick Fury wanted to express his concerns.
Thor remained expressionless. If he couldn't handle it, someone else could!
Far away in Kamar-Taj, a certain bald magician suddenly felt an inexplicable chill, sensing that something significant had happened.
…
Nick Fury began to question Carol seriously: "Ma'am, I need to know more about your background and your purpose for coming to our planet."
Carol glanced at him and said seriously: "I am a member of the Star Troopers from the Kree Empire. I came to Earth to find the Skrulls who are hiding here..."
"You're not a Kree."
Thor interrupted, impatient with their futile search for answers. Furthermore, some provocation on his part might accelerate the Kree's actions.
He showed a photo: "Explain this photo."
The photo depicted Carol with short hair on the ladder of an aircraft.
Photo Notes: Carol Danvers, with her formation below.
Carol's eyes widened in shock: "No, it can't be. That's not me!"
Thor ignored her reaction and continued: "Six years ago, Dr. Lawson and Howard Stark collaborated on developing a light-speed engine, known as the Pegasus Project."
"During an experiment, Dr. Lawson disappeared along with a flight attendant—who was you!"
"No, this is impossible!"
Carol suddenly clutched her head and shouted.
She wanted to deny what Thor was saying, but flashbacks of past events on Earth, involving Dr. Lawson, kept surfacing in her mind...
"It's the Skrulls! They must have tampered with my memory!"
She finally convinced herself of this explanation.
Knowing that convincing her would not be easy, Thor said, "Fine, then I will take you to a place where you can uncover your past!"
