Chapter 162: Aether Appears

Although Daisy's cakes are delicious, her business seems cursed. The stall's performance is dismal.

Despite Thor's presence, the afternoon has seen very few customers. Even if Thor himself baked sweet potatoes, the situation wouldn't be much better!

As expected, Daisy's balance was at zero, much like the account of the poor character from the original story who sold cakes for six seasons.

Thor decided to help her out.

As Jane Foster's former assistant, Daisy was quite talented in astrophysics. With the rapid development of Maria Rambo's Spear Bureau, there was a clear need for such talent.

Daisy eyed Thor with suspicion for a few moments before asking, "Are you sure you don't want to stay with me?"

Thor: "..."

"Pfft—"

Miss System burst out laughing: "No wonder this girl and Jane Foster are friends. They're clearly cut from the same cloth!"

Thor, his forehead lined with frustration, responded, "Why do you always think like that? Do I really look like that kind of person?"

"You are!" Miss System complained.

Daisy nodded in agreement: "Didn't you carry Jane away in public?"

Thor felt as though he could never clear his name.

Fortunately, a group of passing girls came to his rescue.

"Hey, are you Thor?"

A short girl pointed at Thor excitedly: "God, I'm your fan. Can we take a photo together?"

Thor smiled and nodded: "Of course!"

"Stupid... obsessive..."

The fans quietly handed Thor a business card, left satisfied, and walked away while turning back: "Master Thor, if you ever get dumped, come find us!"

Thor: "..."

With a slight twitch of his mouth, Thor conjured a faint flame in his hand and burned the business card to ashes.

Turning around, he found Daisy watching him with bright eyes.

Daisy picked up a cake, handed it to Thor, then playfully draped her arm around his neck, standing on tiptoe to take a selfie.

"Click."

The camera flashed a few times. Daisy pushed him away with a look of disgust, reviewed the photo, and said excitedly, "Alright, I'll print this out and put it on the billboard tomorrow!"

Thor: "..."

He didn't expect to become an online sensation one day. He had laughed at Captain America for the same reason in the past.

After the photoshoot, Daisy regained her energy and asked, "What can I do for you? Shouldn't you contact Jane directly?"

Thor managed a serious expression: "Jane has lost contact, and there's no signal where she is now."

At the gate of an abandoned factory, Thor and Daisy got out of the car together.

"Right here," Daisy pointed at the factory gate. "Three days ago, a strange phenomenon occurred here—an unstable space and a mysterious gravity field appeared."

She shrugged: "I always felt the atmosphere inside was eerie and ominous. Jane insisted on going in, so we stayed inside all day yesterday. I really don't want to go in today... what are you doing?"

Before she could finish, Thor had already pulled her into the factory.

As soon as they entered, it was clear something was off.

Although they were indoors, a chill permeated the air, making Daisy shiver.

Not far off, abandoned tables and chairs floated eerily, reminiscent of a ghost story.

Daisy moved closer to Thor.

They only encountered a few curious youths who had come to explore, but there was no sign of Jane.

"This is odd. Why isn't she here? Has she already left?" Daisy wondered aloud.

"No," Thor said, shaking his head. "It seems she was chosen deliberately."

In a dark space, Jane Foster was panicking and calling out.

"Hi! Is anyone there?"

"Is anyone there?"

The dark space was silent except for the echo of her voice.

Jane took out her phone to contact Thor.

"Beep—beep—sorry, the user you called cannot be connected..."

At that moment, she saw streaks of scarlet liquid flowing on a stone.

Drawn to it despite its strangeness, she reached out.

The next moment, she lost consciousness.

Simultaneously, in a dark space, a pale face suddenly opened its eyes.

"Aether, has appeared!"
