The Ecosystem of the Apls
After six months of surveying Magnus prepared the ultimate guide for this mountain range. They didn't go in-depth very much since they were hiding their presence so that the beasts can't detect them. But the result they got is still astounding. As a matter of fact, the worst possible outcome still came true.
The old research team mentioned a giant beast that is the king of the mountain. Magnus thought that this beast probably died, but they were very much wrong. The beast wasn't dead but instead its twice the strongest of its old self.
That beast is a massive one. It's a bipedal reptilian creature with thick, scaly skin. He has a long tail, a large head with sharp teeth, and short arms ending in clawed hands. His powerful legs support his enormous weight and allow him to move. He stands around 50 meters tall and weighs over 100,000 tons. Magnus speculated that it's around the same size as the tallest mountain. It has very sharp teeth and probably has full-blown consciousness.
From his memory bank, he knew what this creature is. It's a titan. Titans are massive creatures that are sometimes found around many planets. They are the progenitor of beasts all over the world.
This one is fairly younger as it says that some of them are so strong and big that they had the size bigger than a plant. These creatures after breaking throw rank 7 can roam freely in space. Right now the one Magnus saw is an Earth dragon variant titan and it's probably close to level 69.
"You are insane, Robert. That thing can easily kill the Sun Sect patriarch and you are thinking about killing and taking its core?" Anna worriedly asked him.
"I didn't say that I will kill it but it might be good if we manage to kill it. We can easily break through to level 50 with such a powerful core."
"Yeah, and while doing that we will visit the afterlife too." Anna started arguing more intensely. After they argued for a while she somehow managed to change Magnus's mind.
"Okay. I will not try it now. But after we reach level 40. He is my meal." Magnus spoke in a childish way.
"F U. and die on your own. But before you die what about the other one that we discovered."
Aside from the Titan, they discovered some pretty juicy beasts. There are a total of five beasts of 5th-tier beats in this mountain range. If the titan is the king of this land they can be called 5 dukes who controlled five parts of the land. Under them, there are 20 4th-tier beasts. Each of the 4th tier controls thousands of low level beasts.
Every three months later the five dukes will visit the titan and provide him a tone of resources. While the same thing is done by the 4th tier beast as they provide the 5th tier beast with resources. In this ecosystem Titan is top of the food chain, then the 5 beasts dukes, then the commander lever 4th tier beast, than all the lower ranking once. Magnus and Anna fall in the middle of the 3rd tier to the 4th tier.
"We will be attacking 3rd tier beasts from now on. Attacking a 4th tier is risky as there are 20 under each duke. So one of them missing will aleart everyone. After we kill a massive amount of 3rd tier beasts then we will attack them."
Magnus then explained in a more detailed way to Anna. In his plan he will first attack at level 30 equal beasts. Over the 6 months both of them stuck at level 23 and didn't improve that much. One thing is that the Qi gathering array is taking time while also a huge amount of Qi is always taken by that titan beasts.
"So which one are we attacking today?" Anna asked curiously.
"A level 33 beasts. It's the same species of the ape we killed."
"Oh.. So we are going to visit another ape." At that moment Anna asked something ridiculous. "Hey, why don't we compete with each other."
"Oh that's not a good idea. Then how should we compete." Magnus also became interested in the idea.
"Let's see we will count on strike. Whoever strikes him more wins."
"Okay. Let's do this."

Hundred feet below the mountain inside of a small cave a beast is fighting with his life. It's the same ape species as the other ape that they defeated. Although they look same but this one is more powerful. It also has a yellow pattern all over their body making it more ferocious than the other one.
But right now this beast is in trouble. "Grass Cutter, Purgatory"
One attack after another is landing on the beasts body. Each purgatory strike is like a blender that's slicing away his muscles, bone and everything. While the grass Cutter is like a beast clow that's ripping away his organs. If purgatory is a high speed cutting power grass Cutter is like a hammer with a sharp edge.
"Ahhhhhhhh" The beasts tried to call for reimbursement but Magnus jumped at its head and struck right through its eyebrows while Anna went close to its abdomen with a spin she cut through the belly horizontally.
Both of them knew about that beast's weaknesses. Even if a beast becomes powerful it still can't change its weakness that easily. The only way is to handle them with care. But right now there's no point. As the sword went straight through his head while Anna cut opened his belly as all the internal organs started to flow out.
"Hey, I landed the most hit so it's my win." Anna asked as she sat down on top of the beasts and started to absorb the blood Qi. The beast is still didn't died but Anna figured out in the past that the impure Qi can be enter less inside her body if she absorb essence from the beast while it's alive.
"Are you kidding me that's cheating. Each of the attacks are basically simple and they didn't even go inside. And Your daggers are also sharp. " Magnus replied as he sat down close by.
"I told you prime, that a bastard is a liar."
"Yes, Why the hell purgatory doesn't count while your sword attacks are counted?"
They argued for a whole time when Anna absorbed the Qi. After that Magnus went and collected the beast's core. The beast is already close to death and after taking out the core it died immediately.
"Let's get going we need to hunt for more of them."
Soon the entire region became a battlefield. Magnus and Anna found all the close level 30 rank beasts and started to hunt them down one by one.
After the ape beast this time they will be hunting the cobra beasts. It's a giant python that is sized over 100 feet l. But Magnus doesn't fear it.
"Epic sword slash." "Grass Cutter." Both of them attacked with the same time in the head and tail. Anna pined down the tail while Magnus went close. The beast opened its mouth and shot a very strong toxic breath. Soon the clothes that he was wearing were quickly destroyed but Magnus also sent a sharp cut vertically. As a result the beast lost its eyes.
"Ultimate Grass Cutter."
"Purgatory: Sword art."
Magnus's attack cut opened its head and Anna basically incapacitated its heart.

This cycle continued until late at night. Soon Magnus and Anna started killing mercilessly. Each day they would kill 2 or 3 beasts and take their core and essences. They would change places so that other beasts will not figure something going on.
And with that half a month it quickly went by. Magnus and Anna at this time managed to kill over 15 beasts in total.
"It's time to return. We also need to digest them." Magnus spoke after he killed a Bear type beast called Monster Bear.
"Hmm." Anna replied with a worried face as if something is bothering her. She didn't let it surface much but she still looked at the direction towards the far mountain.
' Something might go wrong.' She thought to herself.

A beast haul can be heard in the darkness of the night. In the middle of a large boulder lightning spark can be seen from afar. Each shout produces a large quantity of lightning that eliminates the darkness and it reveals the thing that is sitting on top of the boulder. Its a ferocious tiger with white skin and black pattern is shouting with his might. Each of the shouts are the result of its anger which in result is producing the lightning spark.
In its mind it has a simple sentence repeating, "Kill, Avenge....."
