Somewhere in the central continent, there is a place called Darjling Forest. This is one of the most extensive forests in the world with a size of roughly 300000 squire kilometres. Apart from its size it's also quite famous for its trees which are sometimes known as the most expensive trees as the furniture made from these trees lasts almost a thousand years.
This entire forest region is home to many species including humans as many people live in deep places in this forest. One such place is known as Deep Forest Sect. It's a low 3rd tier sect that mostly does business on trees and furniture and train themselves in forest environments.
Since the forest is home to many humans including other species there are sometimes crazy beasts or monsters that attack humans. The Deep Forest Sect maintain these situations by sending their disciples on various missions.
The sect usually hires new disciples at the beginning of the year. So various people from the forest region started to make their way towards the only city in the forests called, "Minthra".
Among the many travelling Carriages that are heading towards the Minthra inside one of the carriages, there is a very young boy with brown hair and blue eyes sitting at the edge of the carriage while listening to the conversation of the other children.
"Hey, Neil have you heard that in Minthra people stayed up all night and the lights never goes off until sunrise. Isn't it cool?" The boy close to him is very excited since this is his first time visiting Minthra from his village. The Darjling forest has many villages scattered throughout the land. Some were very wealthy while some were very poor. But whatever the condition they may live on the Minthra is like a dream for them. Minthra is the most important place and sort of the main hub that connects each village. Every day people from the villages went to Minthra to trade.
The stories about Minthra are like a fairytale for the children and so now everyone is really excited to go there.
Neil also nodded his head since he doesn't want to be left alone. "So Neil you never told us about yourself? Which village have you come from?" Another boy from opposite Neil asked him which immediately grabbed the attention of everyone in the carriage.
The brown-haired boy named Neil started his journey with them but he never really spoke about his village with anyone. So some children thought that maybe his village is raided or destroyed. It happens quite often with people who live in very dangerous places in the forest regions. So the children didn't ask him thinking that it may be a sensitive matter for him.
But now that one of them has asked it, everyone also wanted to hear about it. Hearing the question Neil didn't give them an immediate answer instead, he replies after a few seconds of silence. "I came from a village called Grove Hut. Have you heard its name?"
"Grove Hut! You are from the North?" A boy quickly responded. "Yes, I am from the North. In fact, Grove Hut is probably close to the border of North and the West so you probably heard its name." Neil replied as he let out a long sigh.
"This year the village is raided by bandits as a result food is very limited. The village chief is very kind to me since he let a young orphan like me live there but since the bandits raid it's much harder on them so decided to travel to Minthra to find work." Neil started sharing his story to everyone and soon all of them are quite sad. The life and death situations are quite common in the forest. Each year there are many children that become orphans. Some of the children survive the winter but the rest are not so lucky.
"I am really sorry for your loss. But rest assured we will surely get inside the deep forest sect and our life will be set." The boy close to Neil tried to cheer him. Everyone else started to follow him too.
"Thank You guys it means a lot to me," Neil replies with a smile to all cheering. "But how are you sure that we will get inside?" Neil asked with a curious look on his face.
"Well. The sect has announced that this year they will accept a large number of disciples. I don't the reason but it means that we have a higher chance to get in than the previous years." Another boy replied.
"Oh. Then we will see each other every day."
"Yes, yes."
Soon the boys started to talk about many stuff and just like that night fall in the great forest.
.....
Deep in the night when everyone is sleeping, Neil wakes up and quietly disappeared in the forest. After a few minutes of walking, he soon reached a small pond. The pond is very bright because of Moonlight making a spectacular scenery.
"Every one of you should've been happy watching this scene." As he spoke, Neil set down beneath a tree and started looking at the pond.
Its been three months since he got separated from Anna and her personas. Although the time they spend is not that long Magnus got quite accustomed to their presence.
"But to think even this remote sect has started to make moves. The matter in the north really shook the Sun Sect completely." The world doesn't know but the Deep Forest sect is actually a branch of Sun Sect.
It's one of the most important branches of the Sun Sect and they have been supplying Sun Sect new disciples every year. The reason Magnus came to a remote place is to get inside Sun Sect much more easily. He could try to enter through other branches but the Deep Forest Sect is very special since this sect is under the direct command of the sect master of Sun Sect.
The way the Sun sect hires is a little different than other sects. They have almost 20 small branches scattered in the central region only. This small sect first recruits disciples. They train them make them powerful then these disciples are taken back to the main branch. Prior to their departure, they are called Outer Disciples of the Sun Sect.
After entering the main branch they are called Inner Disciples. There the Inner disciples train under the sun sect for a long time possibly until death. And if someone in this region becomes stronger they will have a chance to become an officer of the sect.
But if some of these officers become too powerful then they might have a chance to become a core disciple. That is Magnus's main goal. Of course, there is another easy way which is to become a personal disciple of an Elder but that part is a little tricky for Magnus since he can't really share everything about him to a master and it's not necessary for him to have a master.
'Ok' Magnus clenched his fist as he stood up. "From here on no more Qi. Only raw strength." Saying that Magnus positioned himself and started to punch the tree.
In order to master his body and increase his strength Magnus decided to train his physical strength. The Magnum Opus III is all about body training. But it's not as easy as the other one. Technically speaking he could enter into a simulator and train his body but that really is not efficient as he thought. So he decided to change his training ground. So these few days Magnus is punching and kicking any hard place he could find with only his row body, no Qi or technique.
"Damn, it's really hard." Each kick and punch left a blood trail in the tree since his skin started to break apart and blood started to flow out from the wounds. But Magnus persisted and keep on going.
'Punch, punch, punch like him. Punch like Zorodon that shattered the sky and air. Punch like him start broke the very fibre of space.' Magnus shouted in his mind as he increased his punch but the tree is like a mountain that didn't even flinch with all these kicks. Instead, it was Magnus who is suffering the most and at one point he could feel that his body can't keep up.
It was then he finally stopped. He soon dragged his body into the pond to clean him. After washing away all his blood he used Qi to slightly healed his wounds. "It's not convenient. I need to enter the sect quickly. Although the boys are it will be easy but they still have to pass the test. If my cultivation is above 30 it might be harder for me to get in but now that I compress my levels I think I don't have to worry about that."
In these past 3 months, Magnus has compressed his cultivation from level 35 to level 20. Normally compressing the cultivation is very hard and it's a very ancient art too. When someone like Magnus makes a very fast breakthroughs there are usually some missing gaps or instability in the energy. By giving enough time to stabilise the realm these issues can be fixed. But compressing is a different method. The compressing means that you're practically making your body's energy more denser.
So that's another reason Magnus started to build his strength so that those dense Qi are distributed properly. This is the reason why his metabolism increased recently and his healing capacity also increased. But with such dense Qi it will be hard for him to cultivate faster. But Magnus doesn't care. Aside from increasing strength via cultivating there are many other methods out there to make oneself stronger.
One of the key ways is also what Magnus is looking for. If he achieved that he doesn't have to worry any more for now.
"I guess it will be a very interesting ride to Sun Sect." Saying that Magnus started to make his way towards the camp.
