Almost Became a Meal

"Splash"

The formation that almost looks like a giant ball drops into the lava. Immediately the hot lava started clashing with the formation.

Some people were nervous so they immediately started panicking and the formation started acting weird. Just when Magnus was about say something....

"Hey you bastards, don't stop the Qi supply. Or I will personally kill you." Thomas shouted towards his team.

Although its not encouraging but it worked. Soon the array is stabilized and Magnus kept on diving deeper.

As they dive deeper the temperature increases. People started to sweat and the inside became humid.

But everyone remained calm. Any wrong move here means the death of everyone. The outside has nothing but hot red lava and the it's squishing the formation with force unimaginable.

"We will be reaching the opening soon. From here on we don't know what going to happen so keep on the steady supply of Qi. Take pills and potions that you guys have in reserve or you will probably regret it."

Magnus remained everyone and soon he focused on the control. The lava below this point is much hotter than the surface. There are gaps, strains raising everywhere in the formation and Magnus is keeping everything under control.

All his brain cells are bushy calculating and controlling the formation. He even switched between his mind avatar to control the formation while he personally filing each corner of the formation with Qi. Multitasking of this calibre is not possible for a human to achieve without years of training and mastering the ways of array formation.

Array formation are a very complex technology. It uses various calculations to control the Qi but even still normal array cannot possibly done everything. It only works 80 to 90 percent of the time.

So in order to reduce those chances of failure Magnus personally handling the Qi control along with Array plates.

"Everyone squish together. We are going to make the formation smaller."

Magnus decided to reduce the size of the formation to the minimum limit so that less Qi will consume and at the same time use those Qi to strengthen the formation.

Soon everyone came very awkwardly close to each other. If this situation were to happens in a different occasion there's a chance something bound to happen. But now it's a different situation. Nobody is thinking anything other than surviving. So everyone remained as calm and continued doing their job.

"Here we are."

In the middle of the deepest part of the volcanic crater there's a medium sized ball of Qi landed. Besides the landing point there's a stone slab with curvings and behind that is the opening of the tunnel underground.

"Ahhh!" Someone shouted. And soon one by one people started shouting with pain. Renna wanted to see what happened but Magnus shouted,

"Controllers, don't lose focus. Everyone don't touch the formation. Those who are injured, try to stay close with everyone as much as possible."

But still people started to cry with pain. The formation is getting unbearable and the oxygen is getting low. Even though cultivators can survive with few breathings but still there's a limit for young and weak people like them.

Magnus is also at his limit. He can fill that his hands are shaking, his energy level is hitting the lowest bar. But his mind is still on full power. He can still calculate and think straight.

"Everyone, hold on to the fallen man. We will be going down."

Saying that Magnus drove the formation and jumped down.

The tunnel is much bigger than their formation. And because of the upward flow of lava it's very hard to dive. But Magnus cleverly diving close to the tunnel walls. Since lava is a high viscous liquid, the walls decreases their movements towards up relatively, which means less upward pressure.

"Neil people are dying!" Clementine reminded him.

But Magnus didn't reply. He knew that some people will die. And the people also know the risk. They can walk out from that hill any time they want but everyone remained there means that they are willing to take the risk.

But deep down he also knows that some people might've influenced by him or other.

They probably didn't think it through. But at this point it doesn't matter anymore. Magnus is not gonna stop because of them and neither anyone here would do the same.

"Take care of their body!"

This is the list he can say. At least they will have a resting place.

- A few more meters and we will reach the barrier. I will know if my gamble worked or not at the end of the line. Hehehe....if I live I will move on forward but if I die my story will bury together with everyone here....I am Magnus Rackham.

The formation finally hit the invisible barrier and with a flash of light the entire formation with everyone inside disappeared.

Magnus was the only one remained conscious when the formation hit the barrier and just like he suspected they all got teleported to a dark place where he finally loses conscious and went to sleep.

Magnus slowly opened his eyes. Everything is dark and only source of light is coming from the front is very dim.

"Chained Up! Huh!"

Current situation is not good for Magnus. There's two large handcuffs in his hand and they are connected with a chain from the wall. Also he cannot feel his Qi.

"Seems like the foe Clementine's master is facing is not an average enemy!"

Magnus set up straight and closes his eyes. Although he can't use his Qi but that doesn't mean that he can't use his mind. Soon he started to recall what happened after they teleported.

Before he closed his eyes, he assigned one of his avatar to take over his body. And so Magnus was always conscious all the time.

After the teleportation, they all ended up inside a large hall room. The room was very big and only people inside the room was an elderly old man sitting in a stone slab.

When they appeared he briefly opened his eyes and then closed again. Soon another young Man entered along with a few man and took all of them away and through them in these cells.

There's really not much information he could gather aside from some conversations he heard about the hour is getting close, these kids will be sacrificed, etc.

Aside from Magnus the others are also down here.

"Clang.....Doom" a large sound came from outside.

Magnus started paying attention towards the source of the sound.

"Graaaaaaaaa"

"Stop it, Sir, Igor. You know you can't eat these childrens before the time. So please be patient."

"Graaaaaaaaaaaaaa....boom..booom....boom....booom", the sound is getting closer and closer.

Soon the source of the sound stands in front of his cellar door.

"Graaaaaa....Graaa Graaaa....Graaaaa Graaaa Graaaa"

(Miss me....I sure thought you are dead but fate has handed you to me....I sure will enjoy killing you.)

Magnus opened his eyes and looks at the beast that is standing in front, the blood hound.

"Graaa....(Enjoy the pain)" With a single dash the beast it came right in front of Magnus and opened it's jaws to bite down at him. But just as Magnus was about get eaten by the beast, he heard a mans voice.

"Hey, do you mind eating him somewhere else."

The beast instantly stopped it's attack the moment it heard the noise. The next moment it closes it's mouth at looks at the direction towards the voice came from.

"Graaaaaa....Graaaa" (And what's a chained up old man like you can do to me. Soon my master will kill you.)

"Yes. But still even your master is not directly disrespecting me but you a lowly dog thinks yourself better than him." The last part of the sentence became so loud that it almost blew off Magnus.

Magnus also looks at the direction of the voice. Although he cannot detect anything but he can pretty much guess how powerful the other party is.

The blood hound is an early rank 5 beast. To cowar a beast like that with just voice the other party is probably much powerful than the beast, at least level 55+.

"Graaaaa" (Fine) It then looks at Magnus and says, "Graaaaa" (I will eat you after my master has finishs them) and then politely leave this place.

Magnus quickly turns towards the direction of that man and bows down a little before saying, "Oh kind master, Thank you very much for saving me."

He didn't get any reply immediately but a few moments later he heard the same voice again, "Do you wish to live?"

Magnus didn't hesitate and quickly answered, "Yes."

"Good! Then stay put and try to preserve your strength as much as you could. You will be needing them soon if you want you and your friends to survive."

"Alright!"

Magnus didn't question what, why or anything. It's not easy to trap a powerful warrior let alone two. Clearly they have their own plan to get out of here.

But that doesn't mean he should through everything and wait for someone else to save him. Chances are that they won't or their plan may fail.

"I am not a man who will wait for someone to rescue me...I am Magnus...."
