Prologue

"Here we go again."

A young man stretched out in the seat and devoted his full attention to the computer screen.

He had finished working and wanted to drown himself in a juicy web novel: Martial World.

He read some recommendations on a forum and wanted to try it.

In principle, it was basic and cliché; nothing remarkable.

Yet, he wasn't looking for an incredible masterpiece.

Besides, he already knew to what he would be exposed.

This was simply to calm his boredom while at the same time taking his head somewhat away from the worries of everyday life.

However, to his luck and, to some extent, misfortune, the web novel became more and more interesting as he read it.

His mind slowly became involved in the world the author wanted to build for the reader.

There he encountered a hot-blooded protagonist, something he hadn't seen in a long time. But, oddly enough, that was one of the elements that appealed to him the most.

Perhaps as Plato had said: Beauty is in simplicity.

It almost became the norm to make flat main characters. As long as they weren't brain dead, readers would be satisfied, and unfortunately, he had to be included.

Anyway, the time flew by while he was having fun.

The light coming through the windows acquired an orange tinge; giving the room a warm feeling.

The latter denoted the arrival of sunset.

At that, as if he had been injected with some kind of sedative, sleep gradually invaded him.

He did not panic. Instead, he felt calm.

After all, he had already suffered a similar experience.

And, not just once.

Although, he didn't know if that was detrimental to him.

Due to the irregularity of such an event, it was ignored until now.

'What doesn't kill you, only makes you stronger, right?'

Still...

He struggled to get his words in order.

"Should I go to the doctor?" He asked in a slow tone of voice accompanied by significant drowsiness.

Every time it happened he had the same thought, but in the end, he didn't end up going; he didn't want to spend money unnecessarily.

Their economic situation was not the best, not to say precarious, leading him to be a big cheapskate in every way possible.

Now, it is possible that this action may have killed him or, failing that, saved him. Only the future can determine this.

Even wanting to make a decision, his resistance prevented him from doing so, leading him captive into the arms of Morpheus.
