Talking about Origins (Part - 2)

~'The heavens are fair to everyone, Liu Zheng except when its not, but the heavens do curb the divine spirits by directly controlling their population, especially by controlling the number of those who can reach divine level or you may say Open Heaven 9th Rank.'~

~'So the heavens goes directly for their balls, tsk-tsk-tsk-tsk-tsk. Liu Zheng, throw that dragon source out of you or its going to make your balls smaller, just throw it out.'~ Zangetsu shook his head taking pity on the divine spirits and firmly asked him to remove the dragon source.

~'I am still human, Zangetsu. We'll see when it comes down to it.'~ Liu Zheng tried to act calm but inside he was thinking that if it does interfere with his fertility, he will throw it away.

'To hell with becoming a dragon if it comes with low sperm count.' He thought to himself.

~'I know you panicking bro, don't need to hide it. No homo but we will find a way to save your balls, don't you worry.'~ Zangetsu tapped his shoulder wanting to show support his wielder.

~'Ahem, Ahem. Back to the main topic. Why do you think the divine spirits never face tribulations when they become stronger, they do store a lot of source strength inside their source and later their source strength and bloodline strength give rise to a divine spirit bead which contains a lot of energy, akin to the dantain but without any consequences.'~

Liu Zheng thought for a few minutes and then replied ~'Well, as i said before it is just growing up which is not something that could be tested, all those resources are just to aid this process while humans don't gain strength just by growing up, they have to take energy from their surrounding or else it is not possible to increase their ... I see humans take something from the heaven and earth forcefully that is why they have to go through tribulations and you mean to say that a Zanpakuto is similar to a divine spirit source so it doesn't fit the criteria for the tribulation?~

Old Man nodded and Liu Zheng continued ~'But a zanpakuto doesn't even have divine source strength and they are essentially a soul weapon made of spiritual energy and qi , in my case a sword.~

~'Although it doesn't have the same time of energy as the divine spirits, i.e., source strength but it essentially works on the same principle. You never cultivate your zanpakuto, it just grows as you strength grows. It doesn't continue to grow on its own as you age because if it does, your body and soul would not be able to bear the burden. So as your capacity to hold power grows, they naturally adapt to grow with you, never exceeding the limit of your body and soul.'~ he explained looking at zangetsu.

Zangetsu's pride inflated like a balloon and he said ~'You should be appreciating me more , Partner. Imagine how miserable your life could have been without me. '~

~'Yeah, yeah, yeah. I wouldn't be here without the great Zangetsu. As an expression of gratitude, I give you thissss.'~ A golden ray of light went straight into Zangetsu's head.

Zangetsu decided to check out what he received just now ~'What is this? It says Na-Ru-To. What did you give me Liu Zheng?'~

~'It's good stuff. You can check it out later. Let's continue where we left of Old Man.'~

~'As I was saying, the growth of the zanpakuto works in the same way and what else do you think is special about a divine spirit source?'~

~'The have an attribute from birth so their path is mostly decided and after reaching adulthood, they awaken an affinity towards a certain dao like dragons for Dao of Time, phoenix for Dao of Space Ohhhhh... 

Zanpakuto has an attribute as well Yin or Yang and their shape correspond to a particular Dao, in my case Dao of Sword just like a spirit source . I see, I see.

So, basically a Zanpakuto is a sentient spirit source with a specific attribute (Yin or Yang) and a corresponding Weapon Dao which is made of not Divine Source Strength but instead Qi and Spiritual Energy with a growth very similar if not better than divine spirit sources.'~

( A/N- Here, I summarized it in one sentence. Just keep this in mind and Zanpakuto will never feel out of place in Martial Peak Verse.)

Old Man responded ~'That is exactly correct. I would like to add that part of the reason Zanpakuto have spiritual energy but divine spirit sources don't is because Zanpakutos are complete sentient beings with their own personality. Divine Sources could do certain things on their own but those things are engrained and possible due to the spiritual aspects of divine source strength. Not even divine spirits are aware of their origins so they can't answer it themselves '~

~'It kind of feels weird to know more about myself from you but that doesn't change that it was very helpful. Thanks, Old Man'~ Zangetsu put his fist forward and Old Man responded with fist bump. It seems he too is changing as time goes by.

~'So what about these eyes Old Man, what theory did you have for them?'~ Liu Zheng asked.

~'I think just as feathers of phoenix, scales and bones of dragons as well the horns of other divine spirits contain some specific divine abilities, your eyes are the same since I can't recall any records such eyes. Special eyes like Piercing Sky Eyes, Current Flow Eyes, All Seeing White Eye have been possessed by the human race but they have one or two functions at most which could be very useful in specific areas but your Sharingan, It is simply beyond human, may be even the monster race and divine spirits but we know nothing beyond that.'~ 

~'So these eyes are also probably from some kind of divine spirit bloodline huh, similar to Zanpakuto since we have yet to know how these eyes work with source strength. Well, we should just be glad it works without it. I assume my quincy powers have the same possible origins which just emerged later on its own.'~ Liu Zheng asked to which Old Man nodded in agreement. He now had a better understanding of his powers and its possible origins.

~'We started from knowledge sea and look where we are.'~ Zangetsu tried to get everyone back to the main topic.

~'Yeah, we went too far from our main topic. So, coming back to the question which lead to all the talk about origins, I will basically not face any tribulations for things that are related to divine spirit bloodline or at least appear to be related to them like zanpakuto, sharingan or divine dragon source. 

Only things assimilated after birth which take something from heaven and earth forcefully, such as techniques like my body cultivation technique or qi cultivation technique, unique mutations such as the fire attribute to my knowledge sea or artifacts etc. will cause heavenly tribulations. '~

~'Except the part that you were not born with the dragon source nor have you synchronized with it completely to transform into a dragon which makes it a foreign object capable of making your heavenly tribulations worse so yes apart from them everything you said is correct.'~ Old Man corrected him ending the discussion about powers.

'Hmmm, that's true when Yang Kai was breaking through to the emperor realm which was the most memorable break through in the manhua, he did face repercussions of having the source' Liu Zheng recalled the only break through he clearly remembered from the source material.

~'Now, Now. It's getting boring so let's end this quickly. I think you should go using the jade spirit, you can never too prepared when facing dangers in the future. It might cause little problems but the potential benefits outweighs them.'~ Zangetsu said trying to end this discussion early.

~'I agree with him. You should go for it. I was going to tell you the same answer anyway but I thought it would be a good time to talk about the origin of your powers because the more you understand it, the better you can use it.'~

These two chapters main goal was to explore the differences between divine spirits and humans as well as to discuss the nature of MC's bloodlines. I tried my best to make to mould them into something which would be very natural to the world of Martial Peak and have already decided on a perfect origin story which would be left for the outerverse part (If you think it is the first light like all other divine spirits then no, its better.)

Another thing to point out was that in most stories, the world principles treat the MC's broken abilities and cultivation techniques as Mount Tai. (Image)

I tried to make the martial peak world tiny bit more fair from how extremely unfair it usually is. If you possess too many hacks, the heavens will try its best to kill you, only few survive and even fewer turn it into an opportunity. Don't think of it as hating btw, a simple way to avoid this would be to say MC's karma/causality protects him from this but in this fic, having so many hacks is already enough so no otherworldly protection.
