Ch 27: Mission

Yang feng soon reached the elder hall. When he entered the hall he saw that all the elders were present in the hall. 'looks like whatever it is they called for me is important for all of them to appear.' he thought as the elders focused on him.

"Yang feng, it's good that your here early, the sect has a mission for you. We discovered a enflamed yang stone mine near the sect that has not been discovered by anyone yet. We want you to go to the site with a team of 3 other disciples, those have been selected, and protect the mine till one of us comes there with some disciples and workers to build a stronghold there, can you do it." Second elder explained why he was called.

Yang feng was surprised to hear about the enflamed yang stone mine. The mine with the inheritance was already under the blood battle gang's control so the mine the elders are talking about would have to be another mine.

The enflamed yang stones were not much of use to yang feng, but he wanted to see if there is something under the mine that could allow the enflamed yang stones to be formed, as was the case with the mine under the blood battle gang.

"I will follow elders orders. Who will be my partners in this mission." Yang feng answered in a polite tone. He has a good relation with nearly all the elders so he talks to them politely, but never in a submissive or subdued tone.

"They will be at the gates of the sect in ten minutes, all have been briefed about the mission already. You should pack whatever you need and head to the gates." Fourth elder, the old man in charge of recruiting new disciples replied to his question. Yang feng nodded," disciple understands."

After leaving the hall, he went towards the sect gates directly. He had all of his things in his inventory so he didn't need to prepare anything. As he reached there he only saw two disciples at the door.

The first one was Xie Hong Chen who looked a little pale seeing him and the second one was someone he knew as the disciple of the third elder, Chu Ling (OC). When he reached them Chu Ling greeted him to which he greeted back.

"So who's the third?", he asked them while looking around. "We don't know either, we were only told about the mission but not about who will be with us." Chu Ling replied, also trying to find out who the last one was.

Just as they were looking around, they saw a figure coming towards them with fast but graceful steps. All three of them were mesmerized by the figure coming towards them.

As the figure stopped in front of them, they saw what they could only define as a fairy with otherworldly beauty. She had luscious black hair that was held in a style by two hairpins(same as in manhwa), her bright and slender eyes were of ice blue color which excluding a cold aura, a small and cute nose, with peach pink cheeks, a pair of delicate cherry lips, her jade-like skin was glistening and was devoid of any impurities, her physique was graceful and slander,and she emitted a cold and unapproachable aura.

The three quickly composed themselves and Xie Hong Chen asked," Sister Su Yan, are you the 4th disciple going with us?" Su Yan just nodded and said calmly," Since we are all here then let's go."

The four took off with yang feng taking the lead because he was the one with the highest cultivation among the group. It was still more than a year before the start of the canon so Su Yan has not yet advanced to the true element realm. Among the group only Yang feng had a True Element Realm cultivation.

When they were going towards the mine, yang feng had an indifferent look on his face, the entire time. But his inner thought were anything but indifferent. Ever since he saw Su Yan, he seems to feel an unnatural pull towards her and this pull was not a physical pull, it was more of a spiritual one.

{A-Note: Yes, I am a Su Yan admirer.}

He was having a hard time understanding what he was felling. He didn't know what this spiritual pull he was feeling was but he knew that whatever it was, he was not minding it.

Su Yan on the other hand didn't look that different than her usual self. She was only focusing on the way they were moving on. The four continued moving for a few days and finally reached the cave they were told about.

Reaching the cave after the continuous journey, they decided to rest and recover taking turns. The first to rest and recover were both Xie hong chen and Chu Ling who sat slightly inside the cave entrance, with him and Su Yan keeping a watch.

During the time they were on the lookout his gaze would sometimes travel towards her, but only stay at her for a moment. What he didn't notice was that Su Yan would also look at him from time to time as well, but her eyes only containing curiosity. Before Yang Feng joined the sect, Su Yan was the disciple with the highest cultivation and talent.

But when yang feng joined the sect, she was in secultion and rarely went out, but had heard much about him from the brother who started taking his cultivation seriously after seeing him and grandfather who thought quite highly of him, so this was the first time she was able to see him. She was curious to know what type of person yang feng was and why she was feeling a slight pull towards him.

Just as she was wondering, both Xie hong chen and Chu Ling were finished with their rest and it was now time for both Yang Feng and her to rest while the two were on the lookout.

When both yang feng and su yan were 5 minutes into recovering, they suddenly heard a sound of something crashing into the ground. Both simultaneously got up, looked at each other, nodded and slowly went outside the cave entrance.

Just as they exited the cave, yang feng quickly took hold of his spear that he had tied to his back and blocked a sword strike while placing himself in front of Su Yan. Su Yan also sprung into action and made an ice flower that rushed towards the attacker and exploded in front of his chest, causing the attacking figure to leap back and coughing out a mouthful of blood.

When the attacker retreated, both saw the situation clearly. Xie hong chen was knocked out cold and a barely conscious Chu Ling was laying on the ground with blood leaking from his left arm and mouth.

There were more than 1 attackers, 10 to be exact, with 4 True Element Realm and 6 Separation and Reunion Realm.
