"Nothing… It's nothing, don't worry," Amelia said, waving a nonchalant hand.
However, her future husband wasn't so easily fooled. If it wasn't dire, Amelia would never have pushed him aside. He narrowed his eyes in suspicion, looking over Amelia more carefully.
She did seem as tired as he felt. His eyes focused on her stomach, which… didn't look any different than usual. Then again, it wasn't as though he had been paying much attention to her abdomen to begin with.
Also, what did he expect to see? He mentally scolded himself for hoping to see a slight bump, similar to the one Emmeline tried to flaunt at the dinner earlier.
Amelia saw where he was looking and hastily cleared her throat. "I'm suffering from digestive issues. Luckily I have my very own live-in doctor to care for me, if not things might be worse."
"Is it bad?" Matteo asked, still worried. "Have you been drinking enough water? Do you need to sit down?"
