Chapter sixteen

"I don't know that you're taking lessons ." Daisy said when she came to stand in front of her .

"I love swimming." Claire chuckled.she felt guarded as she don't know yet what brought her here .

"Sorry for yesterday."Dasiy tucked her hair behind her ear.

Claire stood transfixed,was she apologizing?.

"hum...you don't need to -"

"No - don't get me wrong ," her hand went to reach Claire's hand as she said in a small voice ,"I didn't know anything about your 'holiday '. "

Claire felt like laughing but she held it as she stared at her puppy apologizing face .waving it aside she smiled.

"Alright... I've heard."

" Uh ... is there anything else?,I want to return back to my class."

"Yes ...yes ," Daisy said as she pulled out an envelope from her pocket,"here's an invitation to a little gathering."

"I would love you to attend-" "it's tomorrow." she said when Claire opened her mouth.

"You Must attend,"she emphasized the word Must ,"if it's cloth ,you can wear mine ."she dropped the envelope in Claire's palm and dashed out .

" goodness!" Claire muttered, "what are they up to ." she rubbed her jaw .

Sighing, she turned to her coach and said ,

"Mrs Dorris can we continue?"....

" Hi honey "...

Kelvin looked up from his laptop to the lady that sauntered towards him .

" Hi ."he cracked a smile .

"Do you miss me ?". she said as she draped her hands around his shoulders and gave him a kiss .

" Of course i would ."Kelvin murmured as he deepened the kiss .

"I'm back now ," the lady stood up straight and pulled a chair close to him ,"we can pick up from where we stopped ."she grinned .

"Linda ..." Kelvin chuckled as he licked his lips, "you've not change yet."

Tucking her hairs behind her ears ,linda glared at him and rolled her eyes .

"Anyways ..how have you been ?"

"I've been good ," Kelvin said as he spread his arms ,"I'm finally the CEO of this company. " he winsked .

"Really ?" Linda squeaked as she jumped into his arms and sat on his laps ,"that calls for a celebration -"

"But why didn't you tell me on the day of your handover ?" she pouted.

Kelvin gave her a light squeeze on her right cheek and said ,

"I was busy since then -"

"But it's not late ,we can stop at MacGorge's ."

Linda nibbled on her lips and said ,"okay ,it's fine ."she came down from his laps and sat back one the chair .

"What about your sis ?"

"She's back ." Kelvin replied as he went back to his work .

When Linda heard that his sister was back ,her eyes lighted up .she was happy inside but she didn't show it .she started hatching a plan to come over to his place and stay for some days .

Her mother has been troubling her for marriage as she is no longer getting young ,trying to arrange some for her with people that she knew but she didn't want any of them .that was the main reason why she came back .to be with Kelvin . a little mistake and she would be glad to be married into the family.

Yes ..she loved Kelvin with all heart , most especially his features. and he's rich coupled with the fact that his father is a retired Major general would give her all the protection she want even though his father doesn't really like her .

But a little mistake, that's all what she wants .

She knew that his father is an upright man who wouldn't run away from his responsibilities. she decided to calm down a bit and scooped the ground and also to find an opportunity to enter .

Arranging her dress to push up her bossom , Linda leaned forward a little towards Kelvin and said

"What ya doing ?" she bite down on her lips .

" checking some documents. "

Claire looked agitated at the dresses that Azra brought for her from Daisy's. all were either body tight or skin revealing.

"Nah ..." she clunk her tongue .this is not her type.

" Ma'am try this one ." Azra said raising up a pink flowered gown with a belt .

"Bring it ." Claire took the gown and inspect it .

"Try it on first Ma'am." Azra nudged her .reluctantly Claire unzipped the dress and put it on .she stared at her reflection in the mirror .

"Not too bad ." she shrugged.

The dress was short but not much .from the bossom down to the waist was tight then it flowed down in beautiful strips to the knee .just above it .

She turn her back to see if it was reveling much of her legs and sighed when it was not .

"I would go with this one then ." claire said and came out .

Azra who was busy scanning the rest of the clothes to see if anyone was okay ,stopped as she looked in awe at Claire when she re-entered the room.

"Oh my God ma'am." the young maid beamed as her eyes shone with wonderment.

" You look like a queen."

" Thanks ,"Claire smiled," I think I would be going with this one ." she said as she dust it down with her hand .

"Don't even think ma'am ," Azra puffed," you are perfect with this."

Cliare chuckled at her childishness .she stared at the dress once more and dropped it aside .she also brought out a matching shoe and kept it.

Laying on her bed after Azra had packed out the rest of the clothes,her mind involuntarily remembered Kelvin .Claire sighed as she tossed around uncomfortably on her bed .

"What kind of life is this ." she whispered and shook the thought away from her mind .she couldn't wait for this one month to end .
