When Aria turned five her grandmother told her that their family has never been blessed with a mate and not having a mate doesn't mean they won't find love. When Aria turned eighteen, her desire to have a mate became stronger because her best friend whom she had a crush on found his mate and the pure joy in his eyes when he told her about the mate bond, place a emptiness in her heart. "You are special, Aria. You have the power to turn back time." That was what her grandmother told her when she claimed she was cursed and even though she was not satisfied with that answer, she never asked again. Two years later, Aria got a call from the hospital and found out that her grandmother has been poisoned and the only way for her to save her grandmother was to accept this deal made by the Alpha of the Shadow Moon pack "Marry Alpha Tristan, have him fall for you and then kill him." It was the only way to saved her grandmother so she agreed despite knowing that she was walking into a lion den, because how was she going to kill a man who despite losing both his sight and his mate, command enough power and authority to still be called a Alpha. How will Aria feel when she realized that the man she has been task to kill has been waiting for her for five lifetimes? What situation will Aria find herself that will require her to turn back time and what price will she pay for altering time itself? ----------- Excerpt Aria felt uneasy by his silence and wondered if it was the right moment to use the techniques, Hailey has taught her. Taking a deep breath, Aria stepped closer and closed her eyes as she brushed her lips against Tristan's. Tristan stiffened when he felt her lips on his and without thinking, he immediately pushed her away. Seeing the angry look on his face, Aria felt like it was all over; she was definitely going to be killed now. But Tristan expression was shadowed by more than anger. How had she gotten so close without him sensing her? And why--why was his heart racing like this?
Who is this madwoman?
Aria felt uneasy under Tristan's intense silence. She wasn't sure if it was the right moment to use the techniques Hailey had taught her, but she had no choice. Taking a deep breath, she stepped closer and gently brushed her lips against his.
Tristan stiffened when he felt her lips on his, and without thinking, he immediately pushed her away.
Seeing the angry look on his face, Aria felt like it was all over; she was definitely going to be killed now.
But Tristan's expression was shadowed by more than anger. How had she gotten so close without him sensing her? And why—why was his heart racing like this?
"I... I'm sorry, I shouldn't have. Please don't kill me."
Tristan ignored her plea and asked, "Which pack are you from?"
"I don't have a pack."
"Then how did you even get an invite if you don't have a pack? Did someone send you to me?"
Aria widened her eyes in surprise and wondered how he was able to figure that out so quickly. Hailey was right; it was foolishness from the beginning to think she could kill such a man, but she can't tell him about Alpha Milton.
"No one has sent me. My friend gave me her invite when I told her that I desperately needed money for my grandmother's treatment." Aria was surprised by how well she had lied, and at this moment she was glad that this man was blind because her facial expression would have given her away.
"So you have asked me to marry you because of money?"
"Yes. You are currently my only chance for my grandmother to get well, so..."
Tristan sighed, rubbing his temple. "If you need money, then I will give it to you; there is no need for us to get married for that. How much do you need?"
He wants to give her money just like that? But that won't do; she has to make him marry her. Wait, what if she says she fell in love with him at first sight? Will he believe that? Even she does not believe in that nonsense, so how does she expect him to believe it?
"I... Do you believe in love at first sight?" Aria literally cringed when she asked that and was once again thankful that Tristan was blind.
Tristan was silent for a moment. What sort of stupid question is that? Who falls in love at first sight? And why was he entertaining this crazy girl? He should have kicked her out, so why hasn't he done so? Maybe it's because her voice sounds a lot like 'her.'
"I know it sounds crazy, but I have actually fallen in love with you." Aria said and winced at her own words. What the heck was she saying? You are so stupid, Aria!
Tristan became speechless, but now he was curious about who this girl is. What does she look like?
"I want to marry you, Alpha Tristan. I want to be your eyes, and unlike the rest of the women, I have no mate and no chance of ever having one." Aria said, convinced that his silence must mean her words were getting to him.
"What do you mean?"
"According to my grandmother, I come from a clan that was never gifted with mates."
The Yalk clan? Weren't they all dead? Tristan thought to himself. If a member of the Yalk clan is still alive, then marrying her would be so much better and more beneficial than marrying those loose brains the Elders had sent to him, but he needs to be sure.
"Come closer." Tristan commanded.
Aria took in a deep breath and walked closer to him.
Tristan stretched forth his hand to feel her face and said, "Describe yourself."
"I'm smart," Aria began, "I got a full scholarship to college... and I..."
"I meant, what do you look like?" Tristan interrupted, a little impatient.
"Oh." Aria took his hand that was wandering round her face.
There it is again; his heart is beating as if it is about to explode, but why?
Aria placed his hand on her cheek and said, "I still have my baby cheeks, so people think I am mostly adorable." She moved his hand to her eyes and said, "My eye color is hazel." And then she moved his hand to her nose. "I don't really have the prettiest nose." Then she moved his hand to her hair. "I have a very weird hair color, but I promised my grandmother that I would never dye my hair, so...."
"What color?" Tristan asked, amused at the way the girl had decided to describe herself.
"Red."
Tristan froze for a moment when he heard her say the color of her hair, and at that moment, his dull brown eyes turned into a beautiful vibrant gold.
Aria stepped back, startled by the sudden change in his eyes. But before she could react, Tristan pulled her back, holding her waist with surprising strength.
"You..." Aria's words were left incomplete as Tristan suddenly slammed his lips against hers.
Aria's eyes fluttered closed as Tristan's lips moved against hers in fervor. Does this mean she has succeeded in seducing him? It was actually easier than she thought it would be.
Aria suddenly winced in pain when Tristan bit her lips, and she felt a pleasurable shiver run down her spine as he licked her blood before pulling away from her.
Tristan looked at the woman who still had her eyes closed as she tried to catch her breath. His eyes beam in excitement as his thoughts spiral out of control. Even her blood tasted the same, so that is why his heart would race when she was close by. He has already lived for four lifetimes and was currently on his 5th rebirth, and he has already accepted the fact that he was going to live his entire life without her, but his Aitana has come back to him. This time, he will protect her, and she will never die in his arms again
