Damien's eyes widened as Sergei's firm grip halted his intended strike. He recoiled, stunned by his unexpected intervention.
Sergei aggressively tossed his arm aside and turned to Everly, his expression unreadable beneath the shadow of his glasses. "Is this man bothering you, Miss Everly?" he inquired.
"Um." Everly hesitated, her gaze flickering between the two men. *How does Sergei always have such perfect timing?* she wondered. Well, none of that mattered at that moment.
She cleared her throat and clutched her purse tightly. She peered daggers at Damien before shaking her head. "Well, he was, but not anymore since you're here now,"
Damien, who had just gotten a hang of himself, boiled with anger, and he felt his ego wounded by Sergei's interference. "Who the fuck do you think you are to interfere in my affairs?" he spat, his voice tinged with the usual arrogance.
