Patience

Chanaka ate the fruits he had plucked from the forests and slept in the caves. He knew he has to be patient with Master Maroshi and rushing in would not do any good. He had to trust him and he did.

The next morning….

Chanaka got up and he saw Maroshi walk out of the caves. He followed his Master out of the caves and then and there he knew that he had to surrender to his Masters will. Today I will teach you to wield a sword, said the Master. Chanaka keep his ego aside and picked up the sword and learnt the techniques of the sword. They started from the basic techniques, right from how to hold a sword. Chanaka was a novice in sword techniques and fight. He did not know this until now. He realised that only because you are good at something that you automatically become good at everything. The way he held the sword and practiced it, gave him a new perspective on sword fight. His movements were more firm and fast. "Only use speed," said Master Marisho. "Forget all other techniques," when you are fighting with a sword, said Master Marisho. Chanaka wanted to tell him that he killed him with the shadow technique. But he stopped himself from doing so.

"Yes, Master," he said.

The training continued till the evening. "Now you practice on your own," said Maroshi and left Chanaka. As Chanaka practiced there was a noise of rustling leaves and movement in the trees. Chanaka stopped his training and looked at the movement. A man came flying towards him and punched him to the ground. It was Hikari, the twin brother of Murashi. Hikari was wolf clan, level 13. The only person in that level. His fangs poured out if his mouth. He had wings as well that helped him fly. He caught Chanaka and flew into the ground. Then he dropped him on to the ground from the air. As Chanaka was midway to the ground, Hikari caught him and plundered him to the ground. Burying him.

"You dare kill my brother," he shouted as he stamped the ground on where Chanaka was buried. Chanaka's hands came out from the ground and caught his legs. He twisted it and broke it. He jumped out from the ground and punched the ribs of Hikari cracking it. Hikari flew into the forests. Chanaka looked for his sword and took it by his hands. He waited with bated breath as he looked for any movement in the forest. There was none. He looked around everywhere withbkeen sharp eyes. There was rustling in the trees. From one area to another. Chanaka kept his eyes focused on the movement. Suddenly! Hikari came flying again with a staff in his hands. Chanaka and Hikari fought each other, staff and sword. Hikari used many techniques. He made a wolf clone and made it attack Chanaka. Chanaka did not deter from his speed technique. He stuck to the speed technique and defended the attacks of the wolf clone. After a while he killed the wolf clone, chopping its head off. Now Hikari came forward with his staff. "You are going to die by my staff," said Hikari taunting him. Chanaka stood firm. He used his speed to attack Hikari. But Hikari was too quick for him. Hikari hit the head of Chanaka with his staff, felling him. Chanaka was embarrassed. He got up now and held the sword, the same way Master Maroshinhad taught him. He took a deep breath and remembered the basic techniques taught by the master. Now he stood while Hikari came forward and attacked him. Hikari's arracks were fast but Chanaka could thwart them with his basic attack and speed. A whirlwind was caused by the speed of the attacks. The whirlwind blew all around disturbing the peace of the forest. Trees were felled. Master Marisho came out. "Enough," he shouted. It was the first time Chanaka had heard him shout. "Who are you?" asked Hikari. "I'm the one who lives here," replied Marisho. Hikari was angry and was thirsting fur blood. "I'm going to kill him," said Hikari. "No you are not," replied Marisho.

"Then I will kill you," said Hikari as he came running towards Marisho with his fangs wide and open. Marisho conjured up a spear and poked it right through his heart. It was so fast that Hikari could not even see it. Hikari lay dead. "Bury him in the forests," said Master Marisho and went back inside the caves.
