CH216. It is burnt

Lu Min Chen wakes up as usual to go to work. He walks downstairs for breakfast, but he halts when he sees the food in the dining table.

He opens his mouth to say something, but then, a small body rushes from the kitchen and throws a tray on the table. 

She does it so carelessly that Lu Min Chen feels pain for the contents in it.

Ye Xiao Xiao? 

No wonder. No wonder the food looked like this. He had wondered what Butler Hu was thinking to allow such things to be placed on the dining table in the name of breakfast.

"I prepared breakfast for you," Ye Xiao Xiao says as she wipes away her sweat. It is obvious that she has put in a lot of effort.

"I am still learning, so it might not be perfect. But with time,I will do a great job," she says when she sees how Lu Min Chen is looking at the food.

"This is your first time cooking these?" He asks her. 

"Yeah, it is my first time. But it might be good. You can try it."

Lu Min Chen nods and takes a seat. Who knows? They say that never judge a book by its covers.

The food might look this black, burnt, but the taste might be excellent.

But this is her first time cooking something. Then it means that she has tried her best. And he is the first man she is obviously cooking for.

His mood improves a little. He even forgets that he slept not so well yesterday  He watches as she places some food on his plate.

Truly speaking, he cannot tell what food it is from the colour and appearence. He might as well as try with the taste.

He scoops some and puts it in his mouth. But he spits it out immediately. 

He had not prepared himself for such a thing. Burnt...it is burnt. And it has a lot of salt.

No, saying a lot of salt is a little wrong. He even suspects that the salt she put in it exceeded the amount of food itself.

"Is it bad?" Ye Xiao Xiao asks when he spits the food. She tries taking away the plate.

Seeing her disappointed expression, just like someone who has failed in a thing that they have put so much energy into, he feels bad.

He immediately shakes his head. "Nope, it is not bad. I like it. It was just a bit hot before," he says and continues eating.

He placed large portions in his mouth and chews gracefully. He feels like throwing up. But he forced it down with his milk.

Seeing him eat, Ye Xiao Xiao's face is filled with joy. Just like a child who has passed her examination.

This is what that propels the great president Lu Min Chen to eat burnt up food.

But halfway through, she realises that he has taken a lot of milk. He is going for the third glass when usually, he only takes one.
