Malzeno/Grand Order

[There's no Monster Hunter tag, unfortunately] Malzeno feared yet revered. Elegant but cunning. Destructive yet tranquil. An Elder Dragon with many tales and none good. The only time it was believed to be "good" was in the fairy tale with its battle with the Archdemon Of The Abyss, which was proven to be more than a fairy tale. In one world, Malzeno survived its encounter with the Hunter, allowing for a unique team. Still, shortly after, Malzeno disappeared from the world, letting the Kingdom it once protected into the hands of its Knights. Malzeno answered the voice from a foreign world entirely, but why him? He was not one of the Black Dragons. He was merely protecting his territory and the humans against the Archdemon. As he transferred over, he was given a Human body while retaining his abilities. Now he fights as a Servant, but thankfully, the one who summoned him was not insufferable. Maybe saving Humanity won't be so bad? [This is a small crossover between Monster Hunter and Fate/Grand Order. This is also a rewrite of my Fate/Demi-Servant Fanfic. I hope that this one is better this time around with the unique crossover. This is not a story to be taken seriously, as I'm writing for my own enjoyment and mental health. However, I hope you all enjoy it nonetheless.]

Evil From A Faraway Land

A European-looking Dragon and a man and woman stood meters away. Their fight has reached its climax, with the Dragon looking worse for wear, as did its opponents.

"Malzeno, you shall fall here. For the sake of the Kingdom!" The woman cried out to the Dragon known as Malzeno, and despite feeling immense fatigue, she persisted.

Malzeno's red eyes glanced at the young woman dressed in the attire of a knight. The man was from another village known as Kamura but was sent on this quest to stop Malzeno. Malzeno, being an Elder Dragon, understood the complexity of Human Nature.

It was once the rightful protector of this Kingdom over a century ago, but the battle that took place fifty years ago with the Archdemon caused it to fall from grace. Malzeno bonded with the Qurio, small-sized lamprey-like parasites. The symbiotic nature allowed Malzeno to change over the course of fifty years.

However, not all things would be the same. Malzeno felt a disturbance in the air as well as the Earth. It is the Archdemon. Malzeno could tell it was still waiting for its death to wreak havoc. But these two humans proved strong enough to defeat such a monster.

Sensing the change in Malzeno, the woman shared a cautious look with the Hunter from Kamura, who also seemed to ponder Malzeno's shake in demeanor.

"Something….calls?" Malzeno uttered its voice, a mix of metallic and strained. The Qurio that acted as a mane all shared a mental link with him as well. However, his voice was heard by his two human opponents.

"You…talked?"

Malzeno's blackened skin disappeared, changing back to its alabaster white. Malzeno could sense the Archdemon making a hasty decision. The Qurio bonded with Malzeno and disobeyed the call back to their original owner.

"Humans…state your name," Malzeno ordered, his metallic voice clanging throughout the small area of the citadel.

"....You caused havoc for the Kingdom, and now we learn you can talk!"

Malzeno blinked as he took a relaxed posture. "It seems the falsehood surrounding me has convinced you that I was a threat to the Kingdom. It was quite the opposite."

"Opposite? Explain!"

The Qurio rattled again, causing a glow of red to flicker. "I ask for a name. There is something much more dangerous than me about to run rampant. If I'm going to fight alongside the new batch of Knights, It's imperative you state your name."

The Knight clenched her hands. "....Fiorayne."

Malzeno nodded. "Good. Listen closely to these words."

"Senpai, are you sure you want to summon another Servant?"

In a facility stood a group of people standing in front of a shield, which seemed to act as some summoning circle. The first was a young girl with shoulder-length reddish-orange hair tied in a side ponytail to the left, also possessing bright orange eyes.

This was Ritsuka Fujimaru, the last Master of Humanity and their last hope of survival.

The second young-looking girl stood to Ritsuka's left, with a round-like face, possessing lilac purple hair and a similar shade of eyes.

This was Mash Kyrielight, a Shielder-Class Demi-Servant.

Standing behind them was a man known as Romani Archaman and a mature-looking lady named Da Vinci.

"I will admit, having Mash with me is fine, but I feel like it would be necessary to add the aid of another Servant," Ritsuka sounded uncertain. Still, the Director's parting words hit strongly, resonating with her heart.

"Yes, the more the merrier!" Da Vinci expressed excitedly. This would be their first successful summoning.

"If you're sure, Senpai, then I trust your judgment. Hopefully, we get an easygoing Heroic Spirit."

"The luck of the draw," Ritsuka breathed in as she closed her eyes. Her heart raced as this was the first time she'd summon her own Servant.

Going through Singularity F taught her a valuable lesson, and that was the fact Mash would need someone to help her. It wasn't because Mash was weak but because she couldn't do everything simultaneously. Ritsuka was only a strategist, but she barely qualified as one, making plans and coordinates on the fly. That could only take her so far.

However, before she could prepare to use the Fate System, it exploded in a potent white light, blinding everyone in the room. She knew it wasn't supposed to do something like this, but it did so anyway.

The light faded, and everyone remained cautious to see what happened.

"I see, so this is a Human body?"

The light completely faded, and the source of the voice was mature, but it had a metallic clang to it. Yet, despite that, the voice seemed confused, as was everyone else, to see the "Heroic Spirit" in front of them.

They were covered in armor reminiscent of a knight, with an overall silver color, with pinkish-red and gold accents to it. However, despite the armor, this individual lacked a sword. The only thing they saw was three flying…pink lamprey-like creatures over his head, as well as the well-contained malicious aura. It was there but masterfully lowered.

"Umm…was it supposed to do that?" Ritsuka had to ask, just in case.

Romani shook his head. "No, it wasn't. However, this can still be deemed a success! You've summoned a Servant."

"Servant…" The word dripped off the tongue of the armored individual like a bad-tasting medicine.

"Right! Uh, Hi! My name is Ritsuka Fujimaru, and I'm…your Master. But I hope we can get along!"

Silence brewed for a moment after Ritsuka's introduction, but the gaze from the newly summoned Servant was enough to tell the others he was judging Ritsuka's worth and character.

"I see. Someone so young is tasked with the world's fate on their hands."

"W-Wait…" Romani stuttered. How did the Servant know what was happening?

"I was informed by a foreign entity that this world was in dire need of help. My name is Malzeno, and I was put in the class of Ruler. It's quite fitting. I wouldn't want anything less."

"Evil….from a faraway land," Ritsuka translated the name immediately, with a sense of awe but deep uncertainty.

AN: Here it is, a reworked Fate/Grand Order story. I apologize if you're a returning reader who enjoyed Fate/Demi-Servant. I took time off to reread it and couldn't find myself enjoying it, but this time, it's a different story.

You don't need knowledge about the Monster Hunter world to understand Malzeno. I could have used any Elder Dragon, but Malzeno is the perfect choice, with the story surrounding it. Other than that, I could have chosen Fatalis or Alatreon, but those two would most likely tell Gaia/Alaya to fuck off. (Malzeno would, too but eh).

This story has some inspiration surrounding it with a Doom Slayer/FGO crossover story I found on FF.Net called Fate Grand Order: Slayer Chronicles (I recommend this).

I don't think I'm doing any pairings in this story. Maybe, idk leave suggestions.
