Life & Wishes

Two days had passed since Luna entered Akiro's huge library and Lady Liliana's visit. Inside her room, Luna continued to search for the lightning element but no matter how long she read, it's still the same explanation. A description of how they view it as not below to heaven itself.

Luna thought that it's quite absurd how they view a bolt of lightning that's simply caused by some phenomenon in the atmosphere to be a powerful existence.

Nonetheless, when talking about fiction stories, some did write such powers with great difference toward other elements. More often than not, a protagonist would luckily obtain it and soon takes over the world.

It would really be overpowered when someone can control lightning.

But Luna thought that other elements could be powerful also but they seemed to perceive it as normal magic. As someone that grew up on Earth, she knew countless ways how to use the bending element found in Vermillion. She even thought that if it was introduced to her world, everything would take a huge turn but it seemed rather impossible to use magic in her world.

Since she could not still find a way to use the lightning element, Luna decided to stop learning how to bend magic until she managed how to use it.

If that unknown person could use that element, Luna believes she could do it too.

Then, she read books about the magic tier of 1 to 4. Out of curiosity, she forgot to read first about the very basics of magic when she first saw the book entitled "To Bend Magic at Your Own Will". The authors of the other books weren't as arrogant as that author or else Luna would really don't know what's going on in this world with the author mocking his readers.

Also in these past two days, Akiro taught her some basic spells that anyone could use which she learned easily. She also decided to tell him the truth after their next mission about her being able to use magic other than time powers.

Inside her room, Luna heard a knock which she opened immediately. It's Miss Zione.

"Master said that you two are about to leave," she said.

After that, she left with Luna's small luggage. Luna hurriedly fixed her long hair and wore her thick blue coat for winter.

"It will certainly be cold outside," Luna uttered.

She walked downstairs and saw Miss Zione, Ryle, and Akiro on the main lobby.

"'I'm done!" she said.

"Let's go," Akiro uttered.

Then Miss Zione and Ryle waved goodbye to them until their carriage couldn't be seen.

"Akiro, what village are we heading?" Luna asked.

He faced her and answered shortly. "North village," he said.

Luna widened her eyes in amazement. It's said that the North Village is where the Magus Emperor, other magic experts, and the main Academy resides.

"Is perhaps a noble is the one who wished? I wonder what a person of wealth wishes to have," Luna said.

"It's a low-class noble and a child at that," he answered.

Luna leaned closer that showed her interest in their mission.

"A child? Can I know what he or she wished?" Luna asked.

Since Luna was helping him in this mission, she wanted to know more about it.

Akiro coughed a little and answered,

"It's a child named Erik Wane Amsterdam. He has a conspicuous doll that I wanted to observe since his wish indicated that he wanted it to be a human."

"I noticed that your mission is always related to people bringing into life. What are you really?" Luna asked.

A moment of silence had passed and he didn't answer. She suddenly felt flustered upon asking about it.

"D-don't mind it. I won't bother anymore about that. It seems really confidential," she continued.

Instead of getting angry, Akiro looked at her with his usual blank face but a slight grin appeared on his face. He patted Luna's head.

"I'll say it to you at the right time. Not for now," he said.

She's left confused by his answer but as Luna said, she won't be bothering him again with that matter.

Not long after, they felt that the carriage stopped. They went outside and Luna slightly felt the cold even though she wore thick clothing. Akiro paid the man with a bag of coins again.

"Hmm, Lady Liliana has her own carriage but I noticed that you don't have your own," Luna asked.

While walking inside a hotel similar to the Red Castle hotel in the West Village, Luna continued asking him anything.

"I don't want anyone knowing where I'll go. A personal carriage is too eye-catching although I own a few, I don't use one when doing missions like this," he answered.

Luna nodded and seemed to understand his reasons. They soon entered a two-way door and a nice and cozy living room welcomed them. A few red candles surrounded the living room and also a lit fireplace on the right side.

"Enjoy your stay," a man said.

He soon left after placing their luggage inside the living room.

"Are we heading to that child already?" Luna asked.

"Placed your things first inside your room on the left side," he said.

Luna nodded and brought her luggage with her. Inside the room, she opened her rectangular bag and took out her blue foldable umbrella, the Yellowbridge stone dust in a purse a,nd a book.

She placed it in her small sling leather bag and wear it on her shoulder.

After that, they walked down the streets of North Village on that snowy day during the morning. Despite the cold surroundings t,he place was definitely busy and countless people were doing their work.

The North Village was where most nobles reside but there's also some commoners that worked for them here. They were the busy ones that Luna saw.

Luna soon found them walking in an alleyway which was familiar.

'Right, we also walked in an alleyway when Akiro used teleportation magic,' Luna thought.

And she's not wrong as they instantly teleported in a mansion once Akiro touched her shoulder. It's an elegant mansion but not as much as Akiro's and she thought that it's much smaller than the latter. It did make sense 'cause Akiro said that the child was a low-class noble.

Then she found out that time seemed to stop. Ever since her training, Luna could distinguish whether the time froze or not without looking into the surroundings.

'Using two skills at once!' Luna thought.

After reading books, Luna realized how Akiro was much stronger than her in many terms.

"We have to find him or his room immediately," Akiro said.

Luna nodded. Since it's a mansion, it's bound to have many rooms and it would take a while to find that child.

Since she wasn't with him the first time he met John, Luna has no idea how he looked for him and how he made the latter believed that Akiro could really make his wish come true.

"Let's go!" Luna said.

Her spirits definitely rose upd were excited to do her second task with Akiro. Then they immediately entered through the backdoor since both of them ended up in the mansion's back garden.
