Our Child
𝙍𝙤𝙨𝙖𝙡𝙞𝙣𝙚'𝙨 𝙋𝙊𝙑
I stared at Xavier with so many questions running through my mind, there's no doubt that I still love him but I was extremely hurt. I waited patiently for what he had to say and sighed heavily.
"I know whatever I say right now would sound like an excuse, but I swear on my life Rose I was drugged. I have evidence of it, you can also check the CCTV footage if you still don't believe me. I didn't lie to you, I did have a business trip to go to. I also came here with my work schedule, you can call my assistant if you also don't believe me. But please Rose I beg you, don't leave me." Tears pricked at his eyes.
"Xavier."
"I don't know what to do without you in my life, I can't live without you Rose. You mean the world to me and I'm going crazy just because of the thought of you leaving me. Please come home."
"I'm pregnant." I sucked in my breath whilst waiting for his reaction.
"I know princess, I promise you everything will chang-.. YOU'RE WHAT?!!" He suddenly got so serious and my heart sank, tears immediately streamed down my eyes and I got up without looking at him. Turning around to run towards my room, he gently grabbed my arm and pulled me into his chests
"What's wrong princess? Why are you suddenly running away from me? Are you hurt? What's happening?" He did seem genuinely confused and I buried my face in his chest.
"I'm pregnant Xavier, 3 weeks pregnant. I know you've always wanted to be careful and I don't know how it happened cause I did pill up after every intercourse but somehow I ended up pregnant. I don't know what to do, I can't think straight anymore, I feel like I'm going crazy."
Heavy sobs raked up my body as I cried in his chest, he wrapped his hands around my small body and kissed my head. Then suddenly he laughed.
"Oh my God Rose!! You're pregnant? Yesssss!!" He picked me up and spun me around whilst laughing hysterically. It caught me off guard and I hugged him tight to stop my self from barfing all over him. Immediately he stopped I pushed him away from me and ran to the bathroom, after emptying the contents of my stomach in the toilet, i let Xavier wash my face and I also washed my hands.
"I'm so sorry baby, I got too happy and I totally forgot about the morning sickness." He stared at me with guilt as I smiled at him.
"Are you that happy to be a father?"
I watched as his eyes shined brightly as he smiled sweetly at me.
"You have absolutely no idea what this means to me, we're starting a family together. Our family, I've wanted nothing more than to spend the rest of my life with you, I'm so happy right now I don't even know what I'm saying." He laughed as tears dropped down his cheeks.
"I forgive you Xavier, no matter what happens I'll always love you. It's not like I can live without my child's father." I teased.
"Let's move to somewhere private and quiet, maybe a private island in the middle of nowhere. Just the three of us and maybe a few friends like River. I can buy an island for you if you want me to, and then we can make it into our dream home. What do you think?"
"I think it's a great idea for my godchildren." River chipped in and a huge smile formed on my cheek.
"River! What did we say about snooping around?" We both laughed.
"Come on I'm just giving my two cents here, I think it's a great idea. That way you'll not worry about anyone trying to harm or destroy your family. There will be no evil ex or mother in law in the picture too."
"You're crazy." I walked up to my best friend and gave her a big hug. She hugged me back.
"Will you also move with us to the island? I don't think I can go through this journey alone."
"Of course I'll move to the island with you dummy, what else would I be doing here? Working my ass off when I can have everything I want from my dear brother in law?" We all laughed at her petty jokes.
"I'm serious River, wouldn't it be too much of me to ask you to halt your goals for me and move to a secluded place with me? What about your boyfriend? Parents? Work?"
"Don't you want our babies to grow up as besties too? I'm not doing this for you Rose, but also for my unborn child."
And then it clicked. And almost immediately I pulled away from the hug and gasped.
"YOU'RE PREGNANT???" Shock evident in my voice.
She smiled.
"Yep, pregnant and dumped too." Suddenly my smile faded.
"Omg River, I'm so sorry." I pulled her into a hug again. I've been so selfish and only thinking about myself that I totally forgot that my bestie could be going through a lot too.
"At least our babies will grow up together, and I'll definitely get to meet someone who won't chicken out of the responsibility of being a father. Oh and trust me I'm fine. Don't cry dummy."
Typical Rivera, always trying to act strong when she's down. I hugged her tightly before pulling out of the hug. I turned to Xavier and smiled.
"Guess you'll be staying here for a while whilst you make preparations for our plans."
We all laughed.
Looking back at how far I've come, I wonder how my life would have been like if I hadn't met Xavier or Rivera. One way or the other, they both changed my life for the better and I can't be more grateful for having them both in my life. And now starting a family with the love of my life and my best friend is everything I have ever wanted, and hopefully our journey don't affect our children.

"Emily don't wander around when it gets dark, remember what mommy and daddy talked to you about."
"Yes mommy, I'm just going to aunt River's house. Max invited me over to play video games. I don't want to be late for it, bye mommy."
My little girl ran out of the house excitedly, and I couldn't help it but to smile. Max is the son of River and the bond he shares with Emily is so strong that whenever she's hurt, he somehow feels it. They have grown inseparable and I can't help it but to wonder how they'd be when they become adults.
