Chapter Twenty Two

Marcus got to work in a good and lighter mood that morning. Words were sent around too that the Big Boss was in a good mood.

"Stella," He called his personal assistant.

"Yes sir"She answered walking into his office.

"Have some red roses delivered to my maids address" he told her.

"Yes sir.....Wait...what?"She was about to go but turned back at the last minute to make sure she heard right.

"You heard right, Now leave, And get Brian for me on your way out"

Stella watched him and nodded slowly.

"I...I... should go?" She asked.

"Uhmn" He nodded. And watched her back as she slowly walked out.

Brian walked in few minutes later, with a laptop in his hand.

"Good morning sir, Some new emails and messages just arrived for you. So I decided to bring it over for you to check" He explained quite perplexed with The Boss friendly expression.

"Yeah...you can drop the laptop and get back to work. I'll call you when am done"

Brian left the laptop, and walked out.

When he got to the door, he looked back at Marcus and smiled sheepishly.

You're about to have a bad day, He thought and left.

Marcus had seen the expression on Brian's face as he left. And he felt that was strange.

It felt like he was up to no good about something. He dismissed the thought and began going through his messages and email.

There was a message from an unfamiliar number and he opened it to see bunch of pictures.

What?

He stared at the screen to make out what he was seeing well. The message ontop says "Your pretty MAID has been decieving you for good: Pretty sure she never told you about her fiance and daughter" Then many pictures appeared beneath the message.

Sophie and a man with a child in her arms, both were smiling at themselves and they seem happy. A man hugging Sophie. Another one of the same man giving her a kiss on the cheek. The both in a restaurant.

What the fuck is this?

But wait. There was a mistake somewhere, Marcus thought as he sat back against his chair.

This wasn't true. He knew damn well it wasn't. Someone was trying to scam him. Sophie was a damn virgin when he slept with her. There was no way she had a child and she was still a virgin. But who was the man in the picture.

Was this the 'friend' she had had dinner with yesterday night before he met her.

He needs to see her now for more explanation or else he'll go crazy.

Grabbing his suit jacket, he strode out from his office, looking as calm as he could.

Stella tried to stop him on the way.

"Sir you have a meeting coming up in ten minutes"

"Cancel it" he said not looking back.

"What?!" She queried, and stared at Brian who walks towards her.

"What's going on with him?" she asked Brian.

He smiled "There's something to be destroyed, and it's a job well done" He said still smiling sheepishly as he stared far ahead.

Stella watched him like a mad fellow. Not understanding a thing of what he said. She scoffed at him as he walked away. What's wrong with everyone around her today.

Marcus knocked on her door. And the door opened to reveal Sophie in a bathing suit. looking as beautiful and sexy as ever, He wanted to drag her to himself and kiss her senseless but that wasn't what he was here for. he thought as he cautioned himself.

He walked in confidently and face her.

" The friend you had dinner with yesterday night, who's he?"

Sophie laughed. "Is that why you came in looking all serious and ready to fight"

"Answer me" He said as calmly and he could.

"Dave?...He's a long time friend who stays abroad. He came home and decided to pay me a visit so we decided to have dinner"

"Does he have a child....or ....Do you have a child?"

"Child? Me....him? I do not have a child.....Oh wait.....I do have a child. But why all this questions"

Marcus almost slumped with her reply but he kept himself steady.

"you have a child?"

"Yes.... My nephew. She's as well as my child because she has Known me all her life as her mother"

"Your nephew?"

"Yeah, her parents died when she was only few months old. Her mother's my sister so I took her in. So she's as well as any child"

Marcus sat down and heaved a sigh of relief.

"What's wrong" Sophie asked sitting beside him and watching him silently.

He brought out his phone and swiped up.Then gave the phone to her to show her the photos sent to him.

She stared at them and her mouth fell opened.

"What....I swear there's nothing going on...he....he is a friend nothing more, I just..... oh no."

She placed her forehead on her hands and signed in disbelief.

"When where this pictures Even taking. Someone is trying to destroy a relationship that hasn't even started?" She mumured.

He took her hand.

"Promise me Sophie, That nothing will ever happen between you two. I won't loose you to no other man because you're mine and mine alone, Okay" With this he took his jacket and walked out. Even before she could give him a response.

She slumped on the nearest couch in awe her head pounding In fear.

What's going on? she thought.

Brian walked into his office and called Stacy.

"Your game went as planned Stacy, he left in absolute anger." He said when she picked up.

She screamed happily. He took the phone away from his ear and he smiled too.

"Do you think this is enough to end their relationship?" She asked him.

"Let's hope it will, one thing for sure is Marcus hates a liar. He would be so furious with her enough to send her away from his life"

"Yeah, I hope so too, And if it doesn't work, more plans on the way. Can't wait to see that bitch out if the picture"

" Loosing another loved one may send him to his early grave. And then, I may be the new CEO of the company"

"What?.....You want him dead? You bastard! Am only sending away his maid so I can get back in his life. do not do anything stupid"Stacy shouted at him.

"Sorry about that, But I've got my plans too. But no worries, You're safe"

"Whatever, just don't harm my man"

"Of course not"

He ended the call and began to laugh hard.

"Fools" he said. Who do they think they are. All of them. They will all die one by one, And he'll have the company all to himself. He laughed again.
