Chapter -7 : Library and magic books
Jenny and Andrew left him on the couch after that as Jenny happy grabbed Andrew hand and dragged him with her to the exit.. As for Andrew, dead people are not worth mentioning.
Ryan turned towards the maid who was close to him.
"Nina, come here."
"Yes, young master." Nina came to him with a look of anticipation on her face. Every maids of the mansion, with whom he has interacted with, seems to be loyal without any other thoughts to harm their family.
Ryan had experienced the affection of many maids. In the last few months, whenever these maids got chance of taking care of him, they always start playing with him. He had experienced the torture of being a passing ball in their hands. They also played snatching game while he was assumed as ball. His cheek pains even now when thinking of them. His cheeks has been suffering most since the time he was born with a famous lines like...'so cute' or 'how cute'. Thinking of this Ryan got goosebumps.
"Yes.. there. Just stay there.." panicking, Ryan hastily told her to stop a little away from him.
Hearing Ryan, Nina had a downcast face..'Missed again... It's third time I missed chance of pinching young masters cheeks. Everyone has said that young master has soft and and little chubby cheeks, only I didn't get chance to pinch them...hehehe, I must catch up with others...hehe'
"Nina tell someone to prepare breakfast for me.."
"Okay, young master." Nina replied, then turned around and left the hall.. it wasn't long, Nina came with a small plate in her hands. As always, his breakfast was what he got used to eating....yogurt with fruit or nuts.
Ryan felt some energy in his body now that he'd eaten his fill, so he got up from the couch. Then he went to the second floor, where the library was.
Climbing the stairs made him realize how much pain his running had caused. Each step he took was a test of his willpower.
"It would be great if you could take me to the library, Nina" He realised after climbing a few stairs, that he would never be able to reach the second floor on his own. While Nina was tidying the couch, he spoke to her.
"Okay, young master." Feeling happy, Nina came to him and picked him and moved towards the second floor. [While she pinched his cheeks]
'Really...cute . hehehe.'
'not again..'
"Young master... Here it is.." Nina took him into the library.
Ryan saw books placed in front of him in orderly manner. He can see titles of different types of books...
"Okay... Leave me here, Leila is here, if I need anything then I will just tell her." Turning towards the maid who was incharge of arranging and cleaning books of the library, he said to Nina...
"I will do my best, young master." Leila pushed her glasses back with her finger and confidently patted her chest..
"Then I will be taking my leave." Ryan waved his hands at Nina and started looking through the books which were present in the library.
It was not a big room. But there were many numbers of book placed there. Judging from the thickness, it will take more than month or two to read them thoroughly.
If it was something common, it would be less but since this is new to him.. this is the least he could understand just by looking at the thickness of the book..
"Leila, is there a list of the current available books in the library?" Understanding the situation, that he won't be able to reach the top of the cupboard. He got no choice but to take a look at the book names.. otherwise he would have searched for thin and useful book...
"Wait a minute, young master. Let me get it for you." Reaching at the table drawer, Leila searched in between some paperwork before see took a paper and handed it to him...
Ryan took the paper and searched for the book about magic...
" Water magic introduction....Fire magic introduction... Low-level spells collection.... History of Cathia empire... Geography of Cathia empire... History of Moonlight forest... Elven magic high affinity theory... Intermediate- level magic spells collection...Magic board status and awakening... Dimension space magic -- research of expert... Dark magic spells.... summoning magic introduction... Contract spell detailed analysis.... " Ryan could see many types of books, he read many more but got attracted to one for now...
"Leila, I want this book...[ Magic board status and awakening.] For now..." Ryan first wanted to learn the process rather than starting it from the middle by reading this and that... As for the books about history and geography, it will have to wait until he read those which took his curiosity..
"As you wish, young master." Leila was the one who arrange everything in this room so she new where the location of book was. She picked up the book and presented it to Ryan..
"Here you go, young master..." Taking the book which weighted around two to three kilograms was no good..
"This is too heavy, let's transfer it to my room first. I will be reading it there." Saying that, he returned that book to Leila and also left library.
Back in the room...
Ryan lay on the bed with the book... He was excited right now...
"A long time ago, no one knows how the magic came to existence.. at that time, many people got confused to, how magic works.... Some people were able to use magic, while others no matter what they do, they didn't know how use magic.. those who used magic were also confused because many can you water as magic while others can use fire... At that time, an unknown person who was not identified by anyone, who called himself as sage, in that era, came forward with the piece of card which if placed on orb, which he described as magic orb will tell people about their personal information. Many at that time did not chose to believe in those things, but when that person used this things to show the information of the rulers of that era, people started believing it... No one new the origin of those card and that orb... After introducing these things, that person who called himself sage and presented this things, disappeared and no one ever so him ever again after that. Many searched for him but it was like he disappeared into thin air, no person saw him after that and gradually forgot him over time... People then, got into research to check the effect of that orb and card... It took them many years, after lots of trials and efforts, later they managed to identify the usage and imitated the functions of those things... In the research, they came to know that the orb has special function of checking the body of the person who touched it and showing it on the card... While card get stored in the body of the person, whose details are displayed on the card... This also keeps the record of the crimes, if a person has committed. From that era, unknown number of cards were imitated while the orb was also imitated and people also modified it to only show criminal activities according to the requirement of king, in that time.."
Ryan started reading the book without any delay.. as he read, he gradually came to understand many things and how they worked... Awakening of a person is carried out at the age of four, in which a person with magic transfer their magic to the one who is being awakened.... And then let him place his hand on the orb...after this process, the information gets displayed on the card. One can choose to hide the information if they don't want others to see it... According to the description in the book, the orbs which can show if any person has committed any crime are distributed at the border of each town. If you can't show your proof then you have to prove your innocence with that, which also helped in reducing crime.
"At the age of four huh... It's not that long, I guess...there are so many books to read, with it I also got to train myself in combat. I don't know what type of magic I will be able to do, or how much magic power I will have... Che.. doesn't matter, anything will do, I will just have to try my best at most." Hours flew by, Ryan didn't know when he dozed off, when he woke up it was already evening... Now after a refreshing nap, he could feel that the pain he had in his joints has lessened considerably.. He got up from his bed and instructed a maid to prepare him something to eat and again started reading...
"Ryan, why aren't you sleeping?? It's almost eleven in the night.. sleep early, you can read that book tomorrow, this will not run away... Taking rest will refresh your mind, also you have training in the morning... " At this time, Jenny entered his room, when Ryan turned his attention towards the time, he understood why she came. He, who always sleeps early, has yet to turn off the magic lamp, which made Jenny, to visit him at this time.
