Chapter -3 :New information

Our carriage passed instantly, when the guards standing on the door saw the emblem of golden pheonix on our carriage. He also performed a salute at our carriage. As one would expect of the fame, noble family holds.

Ryan could see respect, awe and many other emotions on the people who saw their carriage. People gave way to their carriage, wherever it passed by.

Human really get impressed with little bit of fame and power, but it is also expected thing. If power and fame are not known, what kind of life would a person live?? These things are the goal everyone has set for themselves which also make them motivated otherwise they will lazy around.

The town was huge. Ryan had seen it from high as the way they came from is a bit at high ground. He could see a lot of people as their carriage made its way around the town and there are also tons of shops. Since there were lots of opened stalls in the area. Merchants and salesman could be seen selling various things. Loud voice of bargaining can be heard from all around. On the stalls, Ryan could see various things placed are daily necessities one would require.

Their carriage moved inside the town and what greeted his eyes was really amazing for Ryan. He can see people carrying weapon and they were also dressed in shining armor.

"Grandpa why are those people carrying weapon?? This is middle of the town right, shouldn't this threaten the safety of normal people??" Ryan couldn't hide his curiosity. Although he knew exactly why that held weapon, he just wants to confirm as, if what he thought was true, than it was really cool.

"Those people who are carrying weapons are adventurers. Adventurers are like employees of guild who earns money from completing guild quest, but guild can't force them to do anything until the Adventurer commit any perpetration that is not in line to guild rules. If someone does that than his guild card is revoked with it he is subjected to punishment according to the level of crime he committed." Ryan listened to Leons explaining while thinking many thoughts.

"So grandpa, what is guild?" Ryan has read novels with the description of guild in them, he pretty much new what it was but he can't help himself but to he still asked so that he could confirm his guess to what it means in this world.

"The Guilds are like a organisation made with the agreement of all races powerhouse. You can find it in any villages and towns. The payment is decided according to the level of work an adventurer choose to complete. Guild provide this works as per the requirement any person had made and different the level and rewards accordingly. One of the reason of guild establishment is to find out talented genius of the races. Although this also has downside of that, talented people get targeted and get killed by other races but if they can come unscathed from suprise attack of other races mean that the individual is really talented and gets offers from their kingdom to serve the kingdom or if the Individual want, they can join noble Rankings too as per the help they may bring to the kingdom. There are many more benifits but you shouldn't know them now. Later you will understand." Leon explained everything patiently to him.

'So it's like this. Hmm.. it is really a double aged sword, however one sees it. But I think rewards in this kind of case should be worthwhile as people still chose to become adventurer. As for the last part to what grandpa said... really suspicious. Is this what known as life changing secret.' Ryan had his own thoughts on this matter as he understood the implication it had. The information he got was enough for him as for other things he decided to put them aside.

Now as Ryan gazed out of carriage he found that buildings has changed from low and dull to high and rich architecture.

They became multistorey buildings, typical inner and outer region of any town. Broken house are scattered around the corners and high quality are together to show the development.

Ryan could see high end restaurants, hotels while he also so buildings that has written guild building, magic association and merchant association. From this alone he understood what those association were for and how they may work. To find more about them he decided to ask his grandparents later.

When they passed by magic association he saw people who were entering and exiting wore different robes with star patterns attached into them on there chest. Some people had one, some had two. They held a stick in their hands which had a crystal attached at its top end. Everyone seemed to have these stick of different size and the Crystals at the top was also of different colours. Are this what legendary wands that are famous for assisting the user looks like??

While they passed by merchant association, many carriages were going in and out of there while the area covered by building itself was huge. When he saw the people their, Ryan felt these as a coincidence that, almost everyone present there almost had their stomach coming out. He felt funny for some reason.

Their carriage also passed by the so could church which was made by only white stones. Cliche right. He also had the same idea in his mind. Watching all these Ryan was preety much sure that his future will not be boring.

"Ryan this town was once a barran lands after the Massacre that took place here. After we came to this place, people decided to move here from other places. This area is rich with different kind of resources. This place is now this bustling only because they believe in us, that if there may be any dangerous situation befalls onto them, we can protect them. So remember that when there is strength, with it comes equal responsibility. One can't abandon his responsibility thinking that, what's in it for me. If you have such thoughts you may become isolated from other and may not have anyone besides you." Leon seriously taught Ryan but didn't know that his serious lines made different empression on him otherwise he might got choked to death..

'oh man! Such cliche line, my god. This old man is really, what do I say, like professor just need a robe of a teacher rather than his current clothing.' But seeing Leon's serious face and tender eyes Ryan took his advice in his heart. Since he was a successor of a Duke family, he must have sense of responsibility. Atleast he can show such to have good image in public because he doesn't think that he would have much of a good impression from people who will come to know him.

"Hey old man, what are you teaching a small boy. He will have time for all this when he grows up, let him enjoy his childhood properly. Don't go around telling him all these and that. You did same to my little Andrew and now see he became all that serious. My grandson is already very smart and if anything, I will teach him later." Making an angry face Lamina glared at Leon which made the old man cough in embarrassment.

"Lamina dear but you have to appreciate my efforts as because of my strict teaching our son became a true leader and you are saying this just because you are jealous that you didn't get to teach him." Leon didn't back down and through counter attack on Lamina's comment.

'oh this is bad this old man is really going for it. Looks like it is gonna be a big battle. Man, I can see tiger around grandpa and dragon around grandma and it's clear if outbreak took place who will be the winner. Somebody please take me out of here.' Ryan took his leave from his seat and got to the seat besides Lamina while they were fighting with their eyes.

"Grandma I am hungry. Did you bring something to eat." Ryan made a tacit interjection with his comment when he saw that things are starting to get heated. He can't handle their fight. He head personally experienced once which was enough and wished that he never have to see them fight again. Hearing Ryan both the tiger and dragon vanished from their backs or should say that they withdraw their aura. Lamina turned her face and smiled sweetly which made contrast with the bloodthirsty smile she had a while back. He really have believed in this sweet smile if he had not seen that cruel smile first.

Ryan couldn't help but feel amazed at the speed at which his grandmother changed her face. He can see his grandfather sigh in relief as he cleared some beads of sweat from his head. Leon gave a thanking smile at Ryan.

'Old man pay attention next time. If you can't handle it just back down first, even if it out question on man's dignity. There is no harm in retreating if you live, you can take revenge after thirty years. But I can understand that you will never win. No body can win their wife.' Ryan thought to himself

"Of course sweety, I have brought food for you. Let me feed you" Lamina took out a box from thin air and opened it. Understanding what had happened, Ryan could feel his heart rate increasing.

'That was incredible. I have seen people in the mansion perform magic but it's really different up close. I want to learn it teach me.. teach me' Ryan couldn't control his excitement.

"Grandma what was that. How did you perform such incredible act?? How can you take this box out of thin air?? it looked so cool. Tell me too I also want to do it. Teach me how to do this." Ryan just couldn't digest his thoughts and with eager expression, he like any other curious baby jumped in Lamina's hand while making a cute face and twinkling eyes.

'I will attack you with cuteness lest you doesn't agree. I must learn everything. She obviously just waved her hand lightly and there was that faint white glow. I must know the whole process.'
