King of Water Dragons

When Ivan woke up the next day, he found himself back within the 2nd room of Insanity Hell.

He looked around the room to try and find traces of Leviathan or any salty smell by sniffing the air. Results came back negative.

'Will I be able to see the sea snake again?' Ivan couldn't help but tear up when he thought that he wouldn't be able to see Leviathan again.

He and Leviathan had made many memories together. From sailing the Endless Ocean to defeating ancient sea monsters hidden within the depths of the spiritual ocean.

But before he could say goodbye to his friend, he had already woken up from his wonderful dream.

Just then, a voice as deep as the sea resounded within his mind. 'Silly boy, who do you think I am? Once hailed as the mightiest sea serpent in Midgard, I am Leviathan, the King of Water Dragons.'

"Leviathan? Leviathan! Where are you?"

Upon hearing the voice of his newly made best friend, Ivan immediately stopped crying. But when he couldn't spot where his friend was, tears started flowing down his face again.

'Ah…don't cry, boy. I'm right here, in your consciousness.'

"My…my consciousness?"

'That's right, child. From now on, I will be dwelling within your sea of consciousness, ready to help you whenever you encounter danger.'

"Really? That's…that's awesome!" Ivan's tears stopped flowing again.

Although he (Ivan) didn't understand what Leviathan meant, he (Leviathan) will help him (Ivan) when he (Ivan) encounters danger but Ivan was already content that he could hear his friend's voice.

Ivan wiped the remaining tears at the edge of his eyes with his sleeves before getting up to take a stretch.

It's been days since he'd last moved from his position, much less eaten anything within that time frame.

But besides finding a layer of dust on his body, Ivan felt rather energized than feeling weak.

He guessed that the Condensed Soul Milk he drank had something to do with his current self.

"Since my soul has been strengthened now, would I be able to create more weapons using my creation art?" Ivan pondered.

After reading tens of martial arts stories back when he was in elementary school, Ivan understood that martial artists required a strong soul to learn secret techniques and other stuff related to it.

The boy pondered on for a while longer in silence.

When Ivan finally moved after sitting in a cross legged position for 3 days straight, Calvin and Lucas let out sighs of relief in unison.

Calvin was entrusted by Headmaster Na to take care of the 10 year old boy whereas Lucas was told to not bully the child since Ivan was a martial artist.

If they failed to even take care of his basic needs, Sage Lucas might get away scot free but Sage Calvin will definitely die under their teacher's rage.

Sage Calvin was sweating buckets as he thought about his life in the near future when Sage Lucas suddenly slammed his table into two.

Surprised, Calvin angrily shouted. "Oi! Let me worry in peace, you son of a bitch!"

But unlike before where Lucas would bark back, he merely stood before his monitors in silence.

Calvin noticed this change of behavior yet didn't comment on it.

His eyes were currently glued to the monitor showing Ivan walking through lava with a smile on his face.

"What the…fuck?" The two sages tilted their heads together as they watched the boy with shock.

Through the screen, Ivan was currently clearing the trials found within Insanity Hell with ease.

Room 3's trial was a trial of fire.

The flames within the room weren't hot nor cold, rather, these flames were created using spirit magic and were aimed to burn the examinees' souls.

If the examinees didn't have a strong will, then he or she would feel excruciating pain deep within their chest.

Besides that, Insanity Hell was filled with spiritual beasts.

Not only do the examinees have to forge a strong will to resist the soul burning flames, they would also have to remain vigilant at all times to avoid the sneak attack from spiritual beasts.

And this is why this place is called Insanity Hell. It's a literal hell that drives people insane.

After spending only a few minutes reading the instructions of the third room, Ivan declared that he understood nothing before starting his trial.

In addition, the boy was unaware of the fact that he had acquired a system.

Thankfully, all the skills the Martial Dao System gave Ivan beforehand were passive skills. So Ivan didn't need to consciously activate any of his skills during his trial.

Not only that, Leviathan the King of Water Dragons was now living within Ivan's sea of consciousness.

Just the aura Leviathan unleashes in general deters away the strongest spirit beasts found within Insanity Hell, much less those weaker ones that rely on ambushes and tricks.

After completing the trial of fire within the third room using his passive skill, Calm Mind, Ivan made his way down a flight of stairs before arriving in a room filled with insects.

This room was called Insect Cave.

"Ew, bugs." Ivan retorted before he walked through a sea of insects until he reached the other end of the room. The door however, remained locked.

"I need a key."

With the help of Calm Mind, Ivan regarded these bugs as nothing but air as he thrusted his arms deep into the sea of insects to search for the door's key.

The insects, on the other hand, regarded Ivan as a supreme being since the boy was shrouded in Leviathan's ancient aura.

Whenever Ivan wanted to search an area, the insects of that area would clear out by themselves so that Ivan could search without distractions.

Ivan remained calm as he searched for a key while the insects bowed behind him.

He soon found the key hidden under a pile of insect eggs.

The insects remained respectful as they watched Ivan destroy their nests without a care in the world.

Thus, Ivan cleared two trials known to make people lose their sanity with ease.
