Chapter 75: Practice Doesn't Always Make Perfect

Jasper, Kento, and I decided the best course of action against the dark mages was to learn how to harness my dark magic as well as my white. Starting with small spells and working my way up using both defense tactics and experimenting with shielding to protect myself and others.

Both Jasper and Kento had different ways of teaching me and I learned so much from both of them rather than in a dull classroom or studying books so hard my eyes crossed. When we'd broached the subject with Reed, he didn't like the idea of working with my dark magic at all, but soon even he'd have to admit I was getting better at control thanks to these daily lessons.

"Again," Jasper said and threw up another apple.

I sent a blast of magic straight into the center of the flying fruit and it exploded like the others.

"Damn, girl, remind me never to make you mad." Jasper laughed, wiping off apple guts from his clothes.
