CHAPTER 10

Still admitted at the hospital, Ireti had begun to sit up on her bed. Even managing to smile and chuckle at Cynthia's jokes. She still hadn't healed from her emotional pains, but her physical ones were beginning to disappear. The improvements gave her hope, with a touch of peace that emanated from the affection she received from the Doctor.

Ireti also noticed that she had new friends too - Sandra and Nkechi. And she was starting to fall in love with them both. So her days were filled with happy moments. And she was smiling again.

Then on one quiet evening, she summoned up the courage to speak words for the first time. She needed to voice things out, since she hadn't said a word ever since she awoke. Fortunately, Cynthia was her ever present companion. So she spoke to her.

"Cynthia" She whispered

"Madam. See me here"

"Come closer. I want to talk with you before sleep will take me away again"
