Olympia jerked away from her mother who suddenly held her arm as she shivered in fear and terror seeing the red eyes of the guards and Asher. Patrick who always wore a stern expression couldn't hide his fear too.
"Do not touch me mother, I don't know what you and father are up to but please leave me alone" Said Olympia angrily.
She was told by her parents that she was going to get married to the king, she had seen the scary annoying king. What she was annoyed about was her mother bringing Roland to her.
Asher and the guards led Olympia and her parents to the carriage, Asher hopped on the carriage in position to ride it while one of the guards opened the door for Luana and Patrick who entered without hesitation.
Olympia heard terrified screams behind her, she turned to see every human running out of the castle both in fear and confusion.
It made her wonder what Mystic did that caused their action.
"My lady, you don't have to worry, everything will be okay" Asher suddenly said and caught her attention.
She frowned at him then sighed. "I honestly don't understand anything" Her emerald eyes narrowed at him. "You haven't told me your name by the way,"
Asher couldn't help but smile. In this situation, she was asking for his name. She wasn't scared at all. "Asher, my lady"
"Olympia" She sighed and looked back at the majestic castle. Coming back to the castle wasn't on her list, she wasn't going to be controlled by anyone, especially by that king. She turned back to the carriage and walked in.
.
Sitting close to the window, Olympia didn't flash a glance at her parents who were staring at her hoping for her to say something.
The carriage finally started and left the castle. They were far behind when boiling Olympia finally looked at her parents and removed her mask, "You two aren't behaving like my parents, I feel like you two are selling me"
Hearing her words, Luana's worried expression returned and Patrick's furious expression returned.
"Do not make those expressions at me, you two know how I can be, I hide nothing in my mind. I danced with the king and I told him my mind, how does he know that I love mooncakes? Why are you two pushing me to marry him and why did you say I should dance with that vampire mother?"
Luana closed her eyes and inhaled deeply while Patrick snapped.
"Enough of all this drama, you will get married to him, we don't know how he met you that made him make his decision but you must get married to him" Patrick growled.
"Why?! Because he is the king?!" Olympia shouted.
"Because he threatened us!" Luana suddenly shouted.
Olympia's eyes widened in shock. "He threatened us, Olympia, we don't know how he met you but it must have been one of the times you escaped from the mansion. He called your father to the castle and didn't even meet him in person, he sent his loyal vampire, the one who is riding the carriage to give us the information. He told your father that he would wipe us out including all of the humans." Luana continued and burst into tears.
Olympia's lips parted in a trembling way, her eyes moved to her father who was glaring at her murderously.
"Where have you two been throughout the night?" Her voice was small as she hoped for a true answer.
"Enough!" Patrick shouted in anger and pointed at her. "Your disobedience landed you in this and you have no choice. You have been nothing but a headache! Nothing but stress!"
Olympia forced a smile and swallowed hard as tears built up in her eyes. "Nothing but trouble, nothing but heartache, nothing but a mountain on your back, nothing but Olympia the golden phoenix who doesn't like to be caged like a bird" Olympia whispered then giggled and sniffed.
Luana froze in shock and looked at her daughter who was now very emotional while Patrick's stern expression flashed with guilt.
"Why did you push me to dance with Roland?" Olympia suddenly asked, lifted her head, and moved her gaze to her stunned-looking mother.
"I wanted to help you, maybe if you could fall in love with someone, you would be able to fight the king or convince him" Luana spouted.
"And you think that it will work?! You want us dead!" Patrick shouted at Luana in anger.
Olympia inhaled deeply and knocked on the wooden wall of the carriage. The carriage immediately stopped and the door opened revealing Asher who was smiling as if he had finished watching an interesting drama.
"What's wrong?" He asked as if clueless.
Olympia stood up, pushed him aside, and walked out of the carriage. Olympia looked back at Asher who was impressed by her unreal facial features.
"What are you doing my lady?" Asher asked nervously.
"I want to walk home or maybe wait for wolves to eat me" Olympia sighed and sat on the ground without caring that she would dirty her white ball gown. She looked glum and heartbroken.
Asher looked back into the carriage and smiled devilishly at Luana and Patrick who both had pleading eyes. It was clear that they were hiding something that Asher knew very well.
"Hurting her like this, you two won't go off easily" Asher whispered to them knowing that Olympia wasn't hearing anything since she was lost in her thoughts.
"Please, we just had to tell her little details" Patrick begged like a child.
"But you made it seem like you are victims, she is smart to know that it's not entirely true" Asher whispered and clicked his tongue continuously.
"Please, have mercy on us, even if she wants to hate us, it shouldn't be right now, we have even made the promise not to attend the wedding" Luana begged.
Asher scoffed and closed the door then turned back to see Olympia who looked stunned, evident that she heard everything.
"My lady," Asher called with a teasing smile.
"Why would I hate them? What's going on?" Olympia froze as she asked those questions.
"My lady, I can't tell it won't be right that way," He sighed. "They are your parents, they are the ones who betrayed you, they should be the ones who should tell you the truth"
"What truth? The truth about this forced marriage and commitment?" Questioned Olympia, still frozen.
"Truth of how and why they agreed," Asher replied with a deep sigh then walked towards her. "Go in my lady, it's cold out here," Asher told her.
Olympia took slow steps towards the carriage, Asher opened the door and she finally agreed for him to help her into the carriage.
The rest of the ride back to the mansion was long, quiet, and filled with tension as no one spoke to each other.
...
Finally, the carriage arrived at the mansion and Olympia was the first to come out of the carriage. Without saying a word to anyone, she walked straight into the mansion.
Asher glared at Luana and Patrick murderously. Fearfully, they bowed their heads and walked hurriedly into the mansion.
Immediately Luana and Patrick walked into the mansion, they met crying Olympia.
"Tell me how you agreed to the marriage! Tell me!" She shouted.
Luana's eyes also leaked out tears while Patrick looked guilty.
"We are sorry Olympia, we are truly sorry" Luana cried.
"Tell me what you are sorry about!" Olympia shouted angrily and it provoked Patrick
"Don't yell at us! You caused it, your disobedience caused it. Do you think I will let a big chance slip from my fingers? He threatened that he would kill us if we didn't agree to it and it doesn't matter if we agreed or not, he would still marry you. I decided to use the situation to my advantage by requesting a large amount of gold that would make me a very rich and powerful person" Patrick's eyes exposed greed.
"And about Roland, I figured out that if you fall in love with another person, we can still take the gold and we can still have you as our daughter" Luana revealed nervously.
Olympia couldn't believe her ears, she couldn't believe that these were her parents, she couldn't believe what was going on and she couldn't scream at all. Instead, she turned away from them and walked away from their sight without saying a word.
Once she arrived at her room, she closed the door behind her, balanced her back against the door, and burst into tears. She wasn't crying about getting married to the king but about her own parent's betrayal. She suddenly felt alone and in endless darkness.
