Wedding dresses

~Dante~

"I just don't understand, why I have to wear a fucking dress?!"

This Chihuahua. No, I'm sorry to those dogs. This thing, the world made into a woman, is an anchor in my happiness. I wouldn't say I'm happy all the time. It isn't like that when you're an alpha. You have things to worry about. Pack. A child. And survival. Noelle, oh man I should be paid for just listening to her. Or even being around her.

And I'm expected to marry her? This is karma for all my 'good deeds'

"Ma'am, it is for your wedding day. A dress is normal for weddings. Alpha back me up on this." Louis turns to me, the burn is his eyes is quite unusual for an omega. He barely holds eye contact on a regular day.

I folded my arms, giving my soon-to-be wife one of my dead, empty glares. Noelle huffs, annoyed once more. She apparently hates when I do that. And I will continue to do it. Louis is fine craftsman, for clothes. He does a splendid job, amongst other tailors, in keeping us from having to scavenge for clothes. Ginny suggested he'd be perfect for this. What do I know about clothes anyways.

If Noelle would shut up, then maybe the everyone can get on with their day. And by the laws of miracles she does. Huffing like she's got some smoke in her chest, and snatching the dress out of Louis's hands. She stormed, made a show of it by clomping her slippers loudly to the floor as she headed for the change rooms.

I bit in my sigh. Leaning uncomfortably on the dual metallic chairs pushed together to hold my weight. It doesn't help being a large man when most of the supplies are built for tiny people. A life vest wouldn't fit me. Which is dumb. And also great, we only have those for emergencies.

This is the second time I've been in Louis's shop. Or is store more appropriate? Who gives a crap. I wonder what my daughter's doing.

It's hours past noon. She should be playing with the other kids, being watched by their mothers. They'll take her to a simple place to eat. Knowing she's not allowed pastries without my permission, even though they'll cave under her butter eyes. Melts the soul out of everyone when she gives them that look.

I miss her already. She wanted to come see Noelle try on dresses, but she made a promise to her friends. Love that kid. She'll keep whatever she feels is important. I get that's why I ended up in trouble.

She didn't want me to be alone.

I wish she had found me a twig. A long broken boat. I'd have fallen in love faster. But in my years of living, I've never found a single female worth looking twice at or even thinking twice about. Why would Noelle be different?

I can honestly say I want to lock her somewhere and pray she rots faster than a corpse. Again, I reprimand myself, she didn't want to be here.

I still love my daughter. And sadly I didn't want Noelle to fall into Nikolai's hands. She will eventually meet him once we set up her office for handling disputes. She shouldn't need one, but I want her away from me...

Wait her office is going to be in my main...shit!

I'm going to kill the idiot that gave me this idea.

"First!"

Kiki bursts into giggles from her spot next to me. "She's the perfect bridezilla."

"You make me wear a dress. And then I find out it's this long, and puffy. And WHITE! I had to zip this shit myself too."

"You could have asked me to do it. I'm amazed you did this knot all on your own, and it's completely wrong." Louis deadpans.

This is going to be a long fucking day. Enthusiasm seems to bubble in my chest as I watch this mess unfold. She's what I would call an organized chaos. Because somehow, this creature- I will have more creative names for her as time passes- has made it this far in life without dying. Or getting severely injured.

Besides the scar on her ass.

Noelle's hair frizzles with the standing fan pointed at her. I can vaguely pick out my reflection from the three mirrors placed conveniently for the anyone trying on an outfit to see themselves.

Or for psychos like Noelle, to scowl and stomp her foot on the wooden floorboards as though it offended her. Her fingers are tightly knit to the furls of her dress as she hunches it up so her feet can be seen.

"I don't care if I messed up your knot." she growls, something flashes in her eyes that floats around the entire room. It's a defensive crescent moon, matching twins that are her eyes. Shit. Not wanting to let any attention go to it, I whisper something quietly into her mind. She blinks, not realizing I'd just been there.

That is another issue. The mark is doing it's work, but Noelle's lack of control spells for disaster. Like the birds. Something is up with her infected blood.

And....hold me, I'll have to get closer to her. Keep a bond of some type, to help her ease into a peaceful space whenever things- well, let's stop at things.

"What was I saying?"

"I'm not sure. Your dress?"

"Oh yes. Can you make it black?"

My eyes draw in from shock. Kiki gasps, and Louis is horrified.

"You want black?"

She nods.

"But why?"

"Because dresses are stupid. I prefer jeans so if I have to get married to THAT BEAST." She took a deep breath, sending me a glare. To which I responded with a rise of my right eyebrow. "Then I want it my way. For the dress. I don't know anything about weddings."

Louis shakes his head, confusion permanent on his face. "It is a traditional style I have given to all the brides here."

Her face scrunches in unmasked disgust. "Gross. Make it black, and short. Not short that it shows off alot, I don't wanna be cold cause this will be at night, I think. But short that I don't have to hold it like a cave woman. And no- what ever this thin eye stabbing piece of crap." she drops her hold on the gown to swung her arms at the vail. It's more pathetic than it sounds.

Louis calmly nods this time. "I can see the picture. The alpha's bride, doing something different from the others. You're sending a message."

Her flailing comes to a full stop. "I'm what?"

"Sir." Kiki draws my attention from Noelle. "Ollie is here to pick up a dress for his wife."

'And so?'

"He flirts around. He'll think to say something to Noelle."

I find my face threatening to break out a smile. Odd, but I welcome this. Ollie spends his time as one of the Zetas of this pack. Being a loving and faithful partner. If you're aware of what a zeta is with the ceberus genes, then you'd know that sentence is full of shit.

He flirts alot, not as much as he hits. Anyone who sees him let his anger out, either calls me, or corrects him themselves. Most of the time, they've settled it. If It were me, he'd be...out of commission for a few months like the first time I met him.

I'm nice. I could have killed him.

I want to see what he does.

Or in this case, what she does. She's strange, definitely. But is she fun to watch, very much so. Entertaining beyond explanation.

And I might be bored.
