Wait, what the bloody hell is going on here? Adryan asked, but before he could get an answer, Melanie aimed a fireball at him, and it connected with his torso.

Where is my owl, Noir? Melanie fumed, her eyes blazing with fury.

Adryan screamed in agony, the effect of the fireball evident. What are you talking about, you dirty demon?

Melanie aimed another fireball at him without pausing to listen, but before it could connect, Adryan dissipated it.

Melanie's POV

Let go of me, Adryan, Melanie said, transforming back to her human form.

*For what seemed like forever, they both stared into each other's eyes.

Where's my owl? Melanie demanded.

It's up in my room, Adryan replied. I didn't steal her.

Yeah, Devon said, recapping the entire story to Melanie.

Well, I'm sorry I almost killed you, Froggy, Melanie laughed. Can I have Aster now, please?

Melanie, Adryan breathed out her name, his rich amber eyes running over her body.

Lissa, uhmm, let's go, Melanie grabbed Aster and headed towards the door. She turned back to look at Adryan, and her breath hitched again as he looked at her like he could see directly into her soul... bye, Noir.
