Morgrim

Alarra spent the day wandering the property, her list consisted of making dinner and preparing herself for the trip. The bathroom was simple enough to find, right down the hall from her room. She logged it into her mind and planned to have a nice long bath after dinner. She wandered further down the hall to find the majority of the doors locked. Suddenly she turned the corner into what looked like a library, dusty books lined the shelves and a large desk sat tucked into the back of the room. She looked through a pile that sat on the table, the titles were strange.. "Fae folk, Keepers of the Realm, Tribes of the North." Fae? Like fairies? She leafed through one of the books, it showed a rendition of the creature called fae. It almost looked human if it weren't for the elongated point of its ears, and the inhuman beauty of its form.

Cedrick said they were keepers of this reality, that they protected humans from those that would affect this realm.. did that mean against the fae? If magick was real, were these creatures a threat as well? She sat the Fae book down and picked up the one on keepers, "Keepers are decended of the ancestral line of a demigod who's name was unfortunately lost in time. These few special individuals have magick in their blood, passed down by the gods themselves. They are much stronger than their human counterparts and each born with their own unique ability to perform spells and wield elements. Keepers are bound by a purpose and oath that is taken to protect the humans of Midgard from the magical entities that surround us." She closed the book. Cedrick's a decendent of a demigod? That would explain the energy that surrounds him, she sighed. This is all so much," I realize I was sheltered, but did I truly know nothing of the world?" She whispered.

"You'll find that most do not know of this world," a deep voice sounded behind her.

Startled, she turned, accidentally slamming the book down. "I'm so sorry, I was just exploring the house. I'm the new housekeeper."

A large elderly man stood in the doorway, like Cedrick he omitted an energy, glowing white and gold, rays of sunshine shined around a well built corded figure, he exuded calm like the warmth of a campfire. Strolling in, he seemed completely unfazed by her and began laying out a map on one of the side tables lining the wall. "I know of you, I'm the one who employed you. I believe you've met my apprentice, my name is Morgrim.

Alarra nodded silently, so this was Morgrim. He was so different from Cedrick, they were both incredibly powerful she could tell, but Morgrim was like a fine tuned lethal weapon. He hid it well, but past his calm and comforting figure Alarra could see how potent his energy was.

"It's nice to meet you," Alarra bowed, " I'm very grateful for your hospitality, the room and clothes you provided are more than I've ever had."

Morgrim eyed her for a minute, then smiled, "You're genuine, I like that. Come over and take a look." He motioned for her to join him.

On the desk laid a map, she examined and found Lorne near the upper half, right before the mountains of the north began.

"This is where we'll be headed," he pointed towards the middle of the mountain range. There have been reports of a rogue Fae who lures young ladies deep into the mountains and steals their life essence. We need you for bait."

Alarra froze, "I thought I was a housekeeper? You're going to use me to capture this mythological creature? I can't do that! You've got the wrong girl, there's no way!" She shivered, "So this was the reason you chose me. I'm just a pawn, a sacraficial goat to be slaughtered." Tears began to brim her eyes, I was just beginning to think.. maybe I had a future, but I'm still just nothing.
