"Teacher! Teacher! The auction is today, are you ready to go?"
Yun'er stood in Cain's yard screaming. The attendants around her had some bothered looks. The young lady was never this rowdy, only her teacher made her act out like this.
The door to the residence opened and Cain walked out. He was wearing the same white robes he wore to dinner the first time he met the young Princess. Seeing him, Yun'er beamed and came to his side.
"Hurry Teacher! Quickly, the auction starts in an hour!"
Being pushed, Cain didn't have time to say a thing as the excited young Princess took him by the arm and led him into the city.
It was rare for Yun'er to be let out to begin with. Her father kept her restricted to the palace even more than her brothers and sisters. If it weren't because the Emperor was also going to be at the Auction, she would never be allowed to come.
Heading through the streets, people made way for the Princess. Guards and attendants surrounded her while Cain was by her side like a loyal dog. He didn't like the feeling he got from this at all.
This was the way of this place, Mixed bloods no matter what status, must always be shown like slaves before the Royal Family, at least in public. Yun'er mischievously smiled while ogling at Cain. Her eyes shined, a desire of hers burned to see Cain in such a state.
"Teacher, Yun'er wants you directly behind me. Hurry."
Cain rolled his eyes and stepped behind her. He attributed her actions to a child's. She had power over him in this situation, so why shouldn't she have some fun? It was normal.
Throughout the journey, Yun'er would have Cain do many different things. He didn't mind though, they were trivial, while he did them he would think about which Mystical Soul would be sold at the auction.
'It would be best if I got something with combat power but also had practical uses. It was a bit much to hope for but such souls aren't uncommon. Many Mythical Beasts had powers like that.'
"Teacher, we're here!" The Princess giggled as more and more people made way for her. This type of treatment could go to anyone's head.
'Indeed, we are.'
Cain stepped inside the auction house and found luxury couldn't even be a word to describe the interior. The walls were lined with Spiritual Stones and chandlers were made of crystals. He saw statues made of Rainbow Stone and ice sculptures made of 1,000-year-old deep ice. Rich wasn't even a good descriptor because it was too low of a word.
"Wow...."
Yun'er grinned, she looked at Cain as one would look at a backwater mixed blood. "Teacher come, we have a VIP booth! Come, the auction is about to start!"
Cain followed behind her and entered an extravagant booth. He sat down next to the Princess and peered out the viewing window to see a stage with nothing on it yet.
"The auction is beginning. Please quiet down." An attendant on stage announced.
The voices from the crowd slowly came to a stop and a woman walked onto the stage pushing a cart with something on it. From the other side of the stage, a man came forward and took center stage.
"Hello all! Welcome to the Royal Family's annual auction! Tonight I am happy to say we have many rare treasures anyone would wish for! From Souls to Treasures. From ingredients to pills. Everything you could want is here, anything you need is here! Let us start tonight with our first item!"
The women unveiled the cloth over the cart and revealed a heavy black stone with many holes all over it.
"Meteor Rock! A 7th Tier material for refining a Spiritual Tool or Weapon! Starting at 10,000 Spirit Stones!"
Cain was surprised by the price. '7th Tier...it costs so much? How much money would Bloodletter sell for? A blade that evolves...'
"10,000!" A voice came from the crowd.
"12,000!"
"15,000!"
The voices continued until they stopped at around 21,000 spirit stones. No doubt the Meteor Rock fell into the hands of an External Master. The tool it would be used to create would no doubt reach the price tag of a few hundred thousand spirit stones. But it was only one material, many more were needed to create such an Unparalleled Treasure.
The next item was brought onto the stage and unveiled.
"Next we have a 5th Tier Artifact. It is a tool that will allow the user to teleport short distances and long distances if enough time is given. Perfect for both combat and travel. The bidding will start at 5,000 Spiritual Stones."
Such an artifact was valuable. But with it only being a mere artifact it didn't have much use to the powerhouses that filled the auction house. Thus, the auction had to set it at a lower price to get the ball rolling.
"5,200!"
"5,800!"
"7,000 thousand spiritual stones!"
No one bid higher and the artifact was given to a young girl in the stands. She seemed to be from the Weapon Master Sect.
There were many people from other countries here. The young girl most likely wanted to study and reproduce the artifact.
"Next we have a...."
The bidding went on as many different items were shown. There even a few souls appeared but none of them fit Cain's requirements.
"Teacher, does anything suit your fancy? If you want anything Yun'er can get it for you!"
'What a good student.' Cain grinned.
"Thank you Yun'er. So far there is nothing but I will tell you when." He replied.
"Okay!" Yun'er shifted in her seat. She was excited when the Teacher would call on her. At that time she could show her might as the Royal Princess.
The next item that came to the stage was huge, 5 attendants had to bring it up. Everyone leaned in their seats.
"Now starting our high-end items. Behold!"
The attendants removed the covering to reveal a large piece of stone with a suit of armor protruding out of it like a fossil. The only strange thing was the armor looked brand new.
Black and white mixed, the armor had properties of life and death. Where the white pieces had depictions of flowers and clouds, the parts covered in black held skulls and what seemed like the faces of many hungry ghosts.
"The auction house doesn't know much about this suit of armor. We call it the Ying Yang armor and believe it to be an Imperial Arm's on the brink of destruction. Nonetheless, It was excavated from a mountainside when building a Spiritual Stone mine. The starting price is 10,000 Spiritual Stones!"
Cain looked at the suit of armor with curious eyes. Even if the 6th Tier Imperial Arms was weakened, it could still protect someone. Seeing the price and how mysterious it was, Cain tapped on Yun'er's shoulder.
"What is it, teacher?"
"If you get the chance, try to get the armor."
"Yes Teacher!"
As soon as she turned from Cain, Yun'er's voice echoed out of their viewing chamber.
"20,000 Spiritual Stones!"
The crowd became silent. This was the first time a Royal Family Member bid. No one dared to join in.
A voice from the booth across called out, "21,000 Spiritual Stones."
Yun'er growled while she tapped her chair. "25,000"
"30,000."
Slamming her hand into the chair, Yun'er broke the armrest. If it was before it would have been impossible but now Yun'er was in the harnessing stage, she could empower her body beyond normal means.
Cain was getting anxious, "Yun'er, you don't have to get it. Like I said, only try. It's not important."
The Princess puffed her cheeks, "I know Teacher. It's just Brother Bo is doing this on purpose! He already has a defense treasure! He's always bullying Yun'er! I can't let this slide!"
"35,000!"
"40,000" The voice from the adjacent VIP room called out again.
"4-"
Cain stopped his student, "Yun'er, that's enough."
"And the Suit of Armor goes to Prince Bo in VIP room 23!"
'Unfortunate but what can you do? This Prince Bo seems to have it out for Yun'er though.'
Cain was deep in thought while the next item was brought. Almost instantly Cain could tell it was a soul just from his instincts as a cultivator.
