A Prince

(At the Fire kingdom)

"Your job is to clean the prince's bedroom," Farah began.

"Me?" Olivia pointed to herself.

"If not you, then who will? Start cleaning now!"

When Olivia went to the prince's room, she knocked on the bedroom door. "You majesty, I'm here to clean your room."

After a few seconds of waiting, no one answered. So she went in and started cleaning.

"What are you doing in my bedroom?" a voice suddenly asked.

When Olivia looked back to see who it was, she saw that it was the prince, so she instantly bowed and apologized, "Forgive me for entering your room without your consent, your majesty. I was ordered to clean your room before twelve noon."

"It's fine. You must be Olive right?" Carson said.

"Yes, your highness," Olivia answered.

"You can stop cleaning now because starting from today, you'll be my personal maid."

"Yes, your majesty, but I need to finish cleaning. Madam Farah told me that if I don't finish this, she'll fire me."

"She said that? Well then I will inform her that you are going to be my personal maid. Now stop cleaning because I have a task for you."

"What would you like me to do, your highness?" Olivia asked.

"Eat with me." Carson laid on his bed.

"Sorry, I didn't hear that right. What did you say, your highness?"

"I said eat with me."

"Your highness, I think it is inappropriate for a maid to eat with her master."

"Eat with me or you're fired."

"Your highness, I don't think that the king and the princess will be comfortable with me eating with you."

"Who said we are eating at the dining hall? We're eating at my room."

"Only us, your highness?" Olivia asked in confusion.

"You have a problem with that?" Carson responded.

Olivia smiled. "No, your highness. It's an honor to eat with you."

"Your highess, the food has arrived," a servant came knocking on the door.

"Bring it in," the prince responded.

When the servant left, Carson said, "Dig in. If you're still hungry, I'll tell them to cook more."

"Thank you your highness," Olivia responded.

As they were eating, the prince said, "Let me formally introduce myself. I'm Carson, the prince of Fire kingdom and I'm twenty four years old."

She cleared her throat. "I'm Olive your majesty. I'm twenty three."

"I didn't expect that we only have a one year age gap. You look really young."

"Thank you, your highness. If I may ask, what is your intention of letting me eat with you?"

"I want to get to know you more."

"Your highness, why would you want to know more about a maid like me?"

"I just thought that since you'll be my personal maid, it'd be nice to get to know you."

"Your highness, I really appreciate everything, but you shouldn't treat me like this," Olivia said.

"What do you mean? Can't I treat you nicely?" the prince asked.

"It's not that, your highness. It's just that it would be unfair to the other maids."

"I don't care what they think. If someone bullies you, just inform me."

Meanwhile...

(In the dining hall)

"Where's Carson?" the king asked.

"Your majesty, I heard that he was gonna eat in his room today," Eleanor replied.

"Noted. You may leave now."

"Brother, why do I feel like he's acting strange lately?" Kaycee asked.

"He's Probably just tired," the king responded.

Kaycee then called Farah to check what Carson was doing.

"Your majesty, he is eating with Olive," Farah informed.

"What?" the king's eyes widened.

The princess sighed, "You may leave now, Farah."

"Why would he eat in his room with a maid?" Cameron asked.

The princess answered, "He's probably making his move now."

"Isn't he too much? What if that maid takes advantage of him?"

"Second brother, can you at least think positive? Why would Olive do that? Elder brother was the one who offered her."

"I'll talk to him later. Finish your food."

A few hours later...

(In the throne room)

"Your majesty, your brother is here," a servant said.

The king sat down. "Good. You may leave now." .

"Why did you look for me, Cam?" the prince asked.

"I heard you ate with that maid," Cameron mentioned.

"So? She's not some regular maid anymore. She's my personal maid."

"When did she become your personal maid? Did I even agree?"

"I don't need you to approve. It's my choice."

"She's a maid. Keep your distance from her."

"What If she is? She's still human. You already know my intentions towards her. Don't ruin it."

"Fine, I won't meddle with your business as long as you stay aware of the people who you surround yourself with. Remember that we can't just trust anyone easily."
