I'll Make Her My Wife

Jude scrutinised the male nurse with his squinted eyes that made the male nurse become hesitate in performing his job. He then glared sharply at Samuel who ignored him completely at the time being.

"Hey, don't you start your murderous stare at my staff. Who asked you to chase away my female nurse just now? Right now, you have to bear with my male nurse in order to help me. Now, stand aside. Don't get in the way." Samuel pushed him to stand at the side before turning to his patient.

Samuel quickly instructed the male nurse, Alonso, to help him with the medications. Samuel indeed was the most efficient doctor after all. He got his job done within a few minutes and Rose was put on drips in a short time and was resting comfortably.

"You should rest too, Jude. It has been a long day. Let her rest comfortably first." Samuel tried to advise him to take a rest, unfortunately for him, Jude just didn't heed to his advice.

"I'll be here, accompany her. You can go and do your job," he casually said in a gruff tone.

"Suit yourself," then Samuel simply walked away with Alonso, leaving Jude alone with Rose in the ward.

Jude held Rose's hands and gently rubbed them. Her skin was so soft, so supple. He had yearned to touch her hands since the second encounter with her. Thinking back at the second encounter, he was completely engulfed in the sea of love for her. To be frank, he was glad that he met her the day before, but he really did not expect somebody would secretly take their photos together and even uploaded them on Facebook. Those photos were indeed beautiful with Rose in them. He even had the audacity to ask Tony to help him to print the picture and kept one in his office. He smiled in content.

"I'll take good care of you from now on. Don't worry love." He slowly inched towards her forehead and left a kiss there. His sight lingered a little longer on her lips that he couldn't help it but to lightly kissed her. He had never loved a woman in his thirty-five years of life. He knew the gap between her and him quite far apart, but that won't stop him to love and cherish her. The more he learned about her, the stronger his love for her. How he really wished to mark her as his own.

Outside the ward, both Mr and Mrs Smith were astonished when they witnessed how a man kissed their only daughter and they could see the yearning and love clearly written over his face. But they never expected another Townshend would love their daughter. This was completely beyond their comprehension. The two of them exchanged their expressions with each other.

They were not the only one who witnessed the scene. Jeremy was totally flabbergasted with the scene unfold before his eyes. Uncle Jude kissed his lady boss! Gosh! He kissed her! Kissed her! Oh, uncle! You're so savage! You should kiss my lady boss when she is awake, not during her sleep! Gosh! This can't be!

It was so coincidence that Samuel too, went over to the ward to check Rose. He was surprised to see Rose's parents and even Jeremy stood outside the ward in awkward positions. Only then he remembered his buddy, Jude Townshend was still in the ward. He cleared his throat and approached them. Could it be that Jude does something beyond the boundaries? I hope you won't do something over the boundaries, my friend. Arghhh... He prayed deep within his heart for Jude.

"Uncle, Auntie. Why did you all not going inside to take a look at Rose?" he was pretending to not knowing that his friend still inside there.

"It's okay doctor. We are happy that she is fine after all." Mr James Smith said.

"Well, she is fine. But, I'm afraid if the drug flare-up, the consequence will be dire," Samuel told them in a matter-of-fact tone. He wore a serious expression as a doctor should be.

"How much do you know about this drug, doc?" It was Mrs Jane Smith who asked him. Samuel was taken aback by the way Mrs Jane Smith asked him. It was as if she knew about the drug. How was that possible? The most important thing was how did she know about the drug? But to ask her directly, it would seem not appropriate for him, so, he kept quiet about it and pretending not to bother.

"Truth to be told, not much. I only heard about it a year ago. The only way to treat it, I suppose you knew about it."

"Does that mean Rose still didn't..." Mrs Jane Smith hesitated. Jeremy who came accompanied them was bewildered.

"No. She didn't have any sexual intercourse. That's why it is dangerous once it flares up again. Unless she makes it in time to get a drip and insulin injection." Listening to Samuel's words, Jeremy's ears became redden.

Goodness! Who was so cruel towards my lady boss? Is that why uncle take a serious decision for her? Does he really love my lady boss? Oh no! This is bad. Real bad! I need to talk to uncle! He left the three of them and went inside the ward.

"Uncle!" Jude lifted his eyes and stared at his nephew.

"Is it true that my lady boss was drugged and that she needs to..." he paused awhile and was seemed awkward to say the words. His face reddened. He never thought something like that existed in the real world and it so happened to have happened to his own lady boss!

"En..." Jude's voice was gruff while nodding his head slightly. Jeremy took a deep breath.

"Then, do you really mean it when you say you want to take care of her, for the rest of your life?" he asked in curiosity.

This time around, Jude didn't look at Jeremy, instead, he focused on the beauty on the bed while holding her hands. His lips curved upwards and it was undoubtedly a dashing smile and had caused many women to fall in his charm all this time. The difference was this time around the smile he had was more sincere than before. It was a genuine smile.

"Of course, I'll make her my wife someday. You can mark my word."
