Belonged To Rose

Rose was standing at the windows, looked beyond the hospital ground before she sighed for umpteenth times. Firstly, she couldn't recall any occasions that took place for the last five years. And when she recalled what had happened for the last five years, she ended up didn't have any recollections of current events in her life. Gosh! This is frustrating! She looked up into the clear blue sky, pursed her lips in dissatisfaction.

Jude walked quietly towards her then casually wrapped her in his arms that made her jerked all of sudden. Grimaced in pain as she bumped her head accidentally to his strong chin. Jude swiftly took a step backwards, gently rubbed her head.

"What do you think about?" he asked. Rose glared at him with pouted lips.

"Do you mind to give some greetings before casually drape me in your arms?" she casually commented his manner, eyes rolled upward before she heaved an exasperated sigh. Jude was momentarily dumbstruck. This was the first time he saw this side of hers whereas Rose crossed her arms.

"Honey…" her left brow curved upward, there's a smirk that tugged her lips.

"What?" Annoying.

"Sam told me you are going to be discharged this evening. Have you made up your mind where to stay?" Eyes blinked. She looked at him in confusion.

"What do you mean by made up my mind about where to stay?" she queried.

"Well… It's either you want to go back to Smith Residential or you want to go back to your own penthouse," Jude patiently explained to her that amused her in a way. She couldn't help but suddenly felt the urge to tease the man.

"Oh… What if…" she intentionally drawled the word if and glanced at him before adding, "Uh… Correction. No if. What about I'm staying with you? You know… Since you are my fiancé, though I have yet to uncover that part in my memories," She grinned broadly, looking at him expectantly from her fluttering eyelashes.

Jude's lips curved upward when he heard her. Without replying to her, he simply pulled her in his warm hug and smiled contently.

"That will do too, Honey," he said in his raspy voice.

"Oh! Sorry… I didn't know you two being lovey-dovey there," both of them turned towards the door. There, Aries and Tony stood side by side. It was obvious that the two of them were blushed while covering their face with hands. Rose instinctively took two steps backwards, embarrassed.

"Captain," Tony greeted him once he got hold of his awkwardness seeing Jude hugged Rose. Although he had seen them for God knows how many times already, but he has yet to overcome the weird feeling whenever he caught his Captain hugging his fiancée.

Based on the way Tony greeted him, Jude knew there was something that needed him to attend to. He turned to Rose, held her hands.

"I need to step outside for a while. Are you okay to stay here for a while?" Rose rolled her eyes in exasperation. Why wouldn't she be alright, right? She shrugged. She went back to the bed, plopped down on the edge, crossed arms.

"It won't take long. Wait for me, okay?" Jude still trying to appease her and planted a kiss on her cheek. Rose didn't say anything until all the gentlemen went off and left her alone.

At Dr Samuel's Office.

"Progression?" Aries and Tony who had been accustomed to the way Jude asking the question understood him perfectly.

"I'm sorry. I still can't crack the folder. Damn! She protected it with the best firewall," Jude eyeing him with confusion written on his face.

"She?"

"Well, since I couldn't crack the folder in that memory card, I directed my focus on the phone instead. Guess what?" he looked at him playfully. Tony became speechless. Aries had always been the one that dare enough to be more playful among Jude's subordinates.

"Spill it!" Jude's voice was menacing. Aries gulped and cast a glance at Tony who lowered his head, covering himself from smiling. Aries shrugged. He was trying to calm down himself as Jude emanating a cold aura that sent shivers down his spine.

"The phone was not John's. It's hers," he spilt it out. Jude studied his expression before turning solemn and gloomier than ever. Hers? Who? Rose?

Aries took out a stack of reports and put it on the table, "Take a look," he said. "There were messages, call logs and the apps installed in the phone," he added.

Jude took the reports and flipped through it until he stopped at the last few call logs. The last one – John's number. His finger pointed to the number and looked at Aries before asking him, voice stern, "Have you checked this number? The duration?"

"I'll have the result by noon tomorrow," he paused for a while and glanced at Jude, eyes squinted in puzzled. "Captain, don't you want to know the rightful owner of this phone?" he questioned in bewilderment.

"Who was her?" Jude casually asked him as if he already knew the owner of the phone.

"It belongs to Rose Smith, Captain. But…"

"Enough!" he stopped Aries from spewing the fact. He didn't want to know about it, just as yet. He will try his best to investigate the truth. And his Rose was the key factor. He inhaled deeply before slowly breathed out the intense feeling and expelled the unnecessary thoughts dwelling in his head. Not now.

"Aries, keep on investigate this matter. Tony," he gestured to Tony to come closer. "Please help me to clear my schedule these two days. I'll need to get ready with my wedding," with that he simply walked away, leaving the two men alone in the office.

Aries and Tony exchanged the glance.

"Is he really going to marry Rose, at this moment?" Aries had his brows furrowed, puzzled.

"Well, I thought you know him well," Tony shrugged. He swiftly left Aries with his jaw dropped.

As he one step closer to Rose's ward, he could hear her cheery laughter and a man's voice. Jude stopped in his track, listened attentively to their conversation. It dawned to him that Rose could talk freely with the man. Was he a friend or a foe? He frowned.

Jude slowly pushed open the door and surprised to see it was Mike!

Mike Willis. Again.

"Hey, you've come! Come," Rose gestured him to come closer to her which he complied without much thought. The broad, cheery smile on her face had instantly brightened his gloomy mood.

"I couldn't recall if you two knew each other already, but, well… it is no harm to get acquaintance, isn't it?" she was all smiling while the two men simply stared at each other, clenching jaws. Rose simply didn't notice the obvious way the two men looked at each other.

Jude smirked sarcastically and wrapped her in his arms, looking at Mike in a way to warn him off. Mike didn't relent. He scoffed. Standing tall across Jude, he diverted his sight on Rose.

"Well, I guess I have to go now since your man is here. I'll do the things that you want me to do. Please excuse me," with the said note, he turned on his heels and walked away.

"How long has he's been here?" Rose cast a side glance at him, feeling something amiss with the way he asked the question. But soon, she shrugged.

"Twenty minutes maybe… I didn't take note of the time. Anyway," she turned to him, "I'm ready to go home. It's suffocating to stay here any longer," she grumpily complained with her pouted lips. Jude chuckled looking at her spoiled manner. She had never shown this side of her before and it was totally a fresh sight for him. And it was the second time she show different sides of her. Did she behave like this before?

He brought her to his embrace and planted a kiss on her forehead. He could hear a faint sigh from within his arms and a smile slowly spread across his face, lightened up his stern expression.

"I really love being with you… You make me feel safe…" she murmured softly on his chest and sighed in content. As soon as he heard her muffled words, Jude felt the warmth spread through his heart and he instinctively tightened his arms around her petite body.

I'll always love and keep you safe...
