Accompany You...

"Of course, I'll make her my wife. You can mark my word." Jeremy was speechless. His uncle really meant it, no doubt.

He glanced at Rose who was lying on the bed, resting peacefully. She was a little pale than normal days and it pained him to see her current state.

" Jude, you really need to control yourself a bit dude. Her parents were intended to enter the ward but seeing you with their daughter, they are obviously happy for you." Samuel simply spilt out whatever came to his mind.

"Anyway, I came here to check her current pulse. Now if you could please step aside for a while." Jude didn't cause any trouble for him to perform his duty as a doctor while watching her earnestly.

When he saw her furrowed her forehead as if she was discomfort, he quickly held her hand and comforted her through his hand.

The other two men who saw the way he behaved were rendered speechless yet again at the sight. He had yet to profess his love to her, he was already a step ahead to stake his claim! Gosh! Jude was really crazy!

After he had done with his duty, Samuel quickly dragged the reluctant Jeremy to go out with him, leaving the man in love alone with Rose in the ward.

Jude clenched his fist when he recalled the voice call made by Jeremy earlier. He was in an important meeting at the same time. By the time they finished, it was already thirty minutes late. Luckily he was in time to come with Samuel to the General Hospital and was able to convince her parents to transfer her to St Patrick's Hospital.

Her brother, George Smith was involved in an accident that took his life. It was so cliché that he met an accident on his way to a meeting. Was it intentional or was it purely fated accident? It was hard to tell.

Jude swiftly fished his phone from his pocket and dialled a number.

"I need you to investigate the cause of the accident that involved George Smith. Yes. That's the one. I want to see the detailed report on it as soon as possible. Thank you." Jude ended the call and sighed. He looked out the windows and was in deep thinking of the events.

Rose, who was just regained her consciousness heard him. At first, she was scared out of her wits when she saw the strange man in her ward. But when she heard the familiar deep cello voice, she began to feel at ease.

At least it was him with her, right now. She closed her eyes to relax her nerves before opened them again, only to find herself gazed into the mesmerising eyes belong to Jude Townshend.

The gap between them was only an inch that Rose could feel his breath and smelled his musky scent. Her cheeks reluctantly turned into crimson.

Jude didn't budge at all from his current position. He found himself lost in her gaze and would willingly to lose in it forever.

"Ermm... I'm thirsty..." Rose couldn't help but break their awkward moment by asking for water.

"Hold on. I'll get the water for you." Jude swiftly strode to the side and went to the little table and pour some water into a glass before brought it to her. He sat on the edge of the bed and brought the glass to her lips.

He unconsciously gulped his saliva upon looking at the way her lips parted to take a sip of the water. How he wishes to kiss her right there and then. Wake up, Jude! She is sick! He cursed himself inwardly for being easily seduced by the way Rose drank her water. It was most probably he never watched a woman drink her water so closely. Not even his own sister.

"Thanks," Rose smiled sweetly at him and thanked him. Jude put the glass on the shelf next to her bed before turned to her.

He held her hands and looked into her eyes that made Rose blushed harder than before.

"May I know why were you here instead of my parents?" she asked.

"Because I want to accompany you. Is it wrong?" Rose bit her lower lip, nervous. What does he mean by that?

"I sent your parents back to Smith's Residential. They are old, they need to rest as there are too many things happened at once." Jude explained ined to her. She nodded her head as she understood that his intentions were good.

"And I want you to rest too. You will be discharged tomorrow." he continued to inform her.

"Thanks. But, am I in St Patrick?" she just realised that she was not at General Hospital based on the patient dress she wore as well as the room itself. The ward she was in right now was similar to a hotel room, and it meant that she was in the VIP ward.

"Yes, you are. I convinced your parents to transfer you here as they provide better medical equipment and the best doctor too."

"Of course! So, you're awake?" Samuel chimed in and glared at Jude as he didn't call for him once Rose awoke.

"Just awoken awhile ago," Rose answered him truthfully.

"How do you feel so far?" Samuel asked her as he examine her pulse once again.

"At the moment, I'm fine."

"Do you know that the drug was almost flared up?" Rose widened her eyes when she heard what Samuel had said. She looked at Jude but Jude gave her an assuring look that helped her to feel at ease. At least Jude was here.

"Is it serious?" she asked Samuel, wondering if things could go south. Then, it will be the end of her.

"As you're going to be discharged tomorrow, I'll give some prescriptions. Make sure you have it, all the times. Okay then, since you're okay, I'll leave first. Take care." the last line he uttered was more to warn Jude to be careful. Jude's lips curved upward as he understood well his friend's meaningful warning.

" And you're staying here tonight? " when Jude heard her question, he was slightly taken aback. Was it an invitation to stay next to her or was it a soft way to tell him to go home and rest? Goodness...

"Truth to be told, I'm afraid to stay alone in a hospital," Rose mumbled softly but Jude was able to catch her lines.

"Don't worry. I'll keep you company," He came closer to her and rearranged her blanket before gazed into her eyes.

"Rest well. You'll be okay. I'll be here for you." To be honest, Rose was very thankful that he was here with her. Accompanying her throughout the loneliness, in addition to the fact that she just lost her brother, made her extremely lonely. She clutched her blanket hard that Jude couldn't help but wrapped her in his arms, trying to comfort her. It was for the first time he felt helplessness swelled in his heart.
