Bet on Love?!

The Nightingale school was built in the first place in order to spread peace all over the world and cease wars among countries, you might think it's contradicting that there is an arena where students fight each other, whereas the school's purpose is stopping fights.

However, the principal didn't actually want to build this arena, but he was forced to against his will by the big businessman who is financing this school in order to promote their names and get popular internationally.

A betting system was embedded, where every one of the attending audience bet on his or her own favorite fighter, the audience included princes and Princesses, Rich businessmen and famous figures, even students with superpowers can bet, basically, everyone with money can join.

Those fights were broadcasted to different nations all over the world, people would watch the students fighting each other till they spit out blood as entertainment.

The arena is considered one of the facilities that are the school, it was designed to be an exact replica of the ancient Romanian colosseum but with a modern touch; there was a big screen hanged to overview the details of the fighters before you bet, and there was a touch tablet equipped to every seat in order to choose whoever you decided to bet on and input the amount of the money you will bet with.

" I wanna make a bet with you, " Rukoro said confidently while looking at Damon's eyes as if he was threatening him rather than suggesting a bet.

"A bet?-" Damon wonders..

"OH, you mean whether I win or lose my coming battle?" Damon guesses.

Rukoro shakes his head from left to right showing that Damon guessed wrong then he says with a creeping smirk on his face,

" I wanna bet on Justine's love for you "

Damon was shocked by Rukoro's purpose, he couldn't hide his curiosity about how he is going on bet on that, so he says with an excited tone and gleaming eyes,

"How are we gonna bet on that?"

"Hmph, that is easy…" Rukoro replies arrogantly.

"you just go back to Justine and asks her to bet on you with a large amount of money-"

"If she really loves you, she would trust you with her money-"

"But if she doesn't bet on you, I win the bet."

Damon was taken aback by this absurd bet, but he thought that it could be interesting, so he asked him,

"What happens if I win the bet?"

"I will give up on Jistine completely " Rukoro replies confidently without any glimpse of hesitation.

Rukoro had a crush on Justine for years since she enrolled into the school, Damons knew that because he would bully him every time whenever he gets insecure about Damon spending hours with Justine.

Rukoro wouldn't have brought up such a bet unless he is confident that this bet would go to his favor, Damon realized that already however he went ahead and asked nervously,

"W-what if I lose the bet?"

with a gloating smile on Rukoro's face as if Damon had already lost the bet, he said,

"If you lose the bet, you will divorce Justine and never get close to her again!"

After he said that, Rukoro held out his hand to shake with Damon's hand in agreement.

"Divorce" that word echoed in Damon's mind drowning him back to his past usual gloom.

If he divorced her, he would lose the only family he had left in this world, thoughts of worst case scenarios kept haunting Damon's mind if he happens to lose the bet.

The odds of Damon winning the bet were slim as he knew that they are still friends pretending to be a couple.

However Damon bypassed all his suspicions regarding his relationship with Justine and decided to trust in Justine. So he raised his hand to shake Rukoro's hand, agreeing to participate in the bet.

As soon as Damon got back to his room , he asked Justine to bet on him in his upcoming match.

She was so surprised that he requested that of her out of nowhere, but she went along with his request without asking him about the reason behind it.

" How much do you want me to bet?" Justine asks him.

Damon's looks down on the ground avoiding her gaze because he was embarrassed by what he was about to say;

" you can bet as much as you see me worth…"

"Alright I got it," Justine says nonchalantly, completely clueless about Damon's bet with Rukoro.

The day of the match is approaching and Damon is getting more nervous not because the day of his first match is getting closer, but he was nervous about whether Justine is going to bet on him or not.

Finally, the awaited day has arrived and all suspicions are going to be cleared soon...
