Lonely Christmas

at different place different situations 2 peoples live their life as usual. like nothing ever happened as their break in their relationship is something to take aside from their priorities.

(this story take place at 2 different place Vivi's house and Song's House it show their daily live at the same time, maybe it will be but confusing but I hope you can get it)

the alarm start to ringing

Vivi wake up and stop the alarm at her house, while Song at his house still sleeping. the alarm ring and ring, he tries to reach the table watch at his desk and turn it off.

Vivi stretch her body and walk to the window, open her curtains so the light of the morning can enter her room.

ring... ring... ring...

now Song phone alarm ringing, he cover his head with pillow. he doesn't want to get up. but the phone doesn't stop ringing. so he reach jis phone and snooze it.

Vivi open jer window a little, the cold air enters her room. she feel cold and close the window again. she stroke her own arm.

"cold" she whisper

7.30 am

Song alarm ringing again, he kicks the bed cause he feel so annoying. he doesn't want to get up. still on a college break.

Vivi go to the bathroom and wash her face also brush her teeth and she takes a shower. after changed she go out to the kitchen, her mom already busy making breakfast. Her dad sit at the living room sipping a tea while read the newspaper.

"something I can help?" she asked her mom

"hmm.. nothing. your relationship with the kitchen is not good. better you don't help me than you burn this kitchen " her mom makes little jokes about Vivi cooking abilities.

so she just sit at the dining table and drink a coffee.

8.30 am

Song dog named Choco jump to his bed. he begin to smell Song hair and lick his nose.

"choco stop it... brother still sleepy" Song said

"Song-a... wake up" Song's mom pat his back

"eat some breakfast " his mom try to wake him up

Song sits and look at his mom

"mom..." Song sai

"yes.." his mom answer

"can I skip breakfast?" Song said

"yesterday you skip it too, another day too. it's not good. come on let's cheer up, mom make kimchi jiggae for you"

"really?"

"yes although it's not good for breakfast but you like it so I think maybe you won't skip breakfast"

she persuading Song

"yes... yes... let's eat" Song said

"wash your face and brush your teeth first " Song mom said

"okay" Song run to the bathroom

both if them eat breakfast at their own house. Song eat breakfast with his mom while Vivi eat with both her parents.

9.30 am

Vivi enter her room and sit at her chair. she pulls her chair to the desk, open her laptop and studying.

Song open his laptop, he begin to compose some song he's been working on.

11.00 am

Vivi's cat jump at her lap, try to cuddle with her.

"hei, chimi...are you hungry? let's eat"

Song put bowl of dog food at the kitchen

"Choco... time to eat..." Song call choco

Vivi sit at the living room, she turn on the TV. Song watch some cartoon channel while eating snacks.

Song's phone ringing its from Hyun Jae

"hello" he said

"Song-a where are you?" Hyun Jae asks

"home, why?" Song asks

"ah... nothing. I'm sorry" Hyun Jae said

"why you said sorry?" Song confused

"I don't know about you and Vivi" Hyun Jae voice sound hesitate

"ah... don't mind it. we just take a break not break up. I think both of us need to solve our personal problem first before we get together again" Song explains

"yeah, still I'm not with you at that time. I feel sorry" Hyun Jae said

"hey, I know you were worse than me. it's okay, it's okay. Don't think too much about it. are you okay? where are you know?"

"yes I'm okay, at my parent's. I'll call you later. bye. ah... Song-a " Hyun Jae said

"yes..." Song said

"tomorrow is Christmas, so merry Christmas in advance" Hyun Jae said

"hehe, you too... see you next semester my best friend " Song said, Song smile widely just hear that kind of word from his close and best friend".

Song search some name at his phone contacts. he stops at Vivi's name, he hesitate for a while. he put down his phone.

Vivi look at her phone, it's been a month since last time she meet Song. No text or calls from Song.

"should I call him first " that question always come to her mind, but she's too afraid to take a move. Vivi put her phone down.

2 pm

"Lunch time" Vivi's mom call from the kitchen

Vivi walk downstairs lazily. she doesn't have any appetite. she look at her food, the menu is idli dosa,roti curry, green vegetables and yogurt. it's her favorites but she just doesn't have appetite. she begin to feel lonely.

huff... huff...

Song blows his hot ramyeon. his mom not at home. so he eat his lunch but late and no particular menu. his mom have asked him to order food for lunch but he so lazy to do it. so he ended eating ramyeon alone.

4pm

Song throwing his body to his body , his face down to the bed. he turn his body, he look at the ceiling. he close his eyes try to remember piece by piece everything that happened one month ago.

Vivi open her eyes surprisingly when her book fall down from her lap. looks like she's fall asleep while reading her book. she stand up from her rocking chair and walking near the window. she lean her head to the window, it's snowy outside. it's Christmas day today, although she not celebrating Christmas but she remembered how she will walking through the snow every time she spent Christmas with Song.

they will walking around the streets, go to a Cafe have a good dinner, eat streets food, shopping and enjoy their time together.

knock...knock...

someone knock Song room

"Song-a, this is mom. may I enter?" Song's mom speak behind the door

"Yes mom" Song get up and sit at his bed

"Song-a, mom buy many cookies and a cake. let's eat together before you go out" Song's mom said

"go out? I have no plan to go out tonight " Song walking out from his room. his mom following him.

Song sits at the dining table, his mom sits in front of him.

"why? you always spent Christmas with Vivi" Song's mom ask

Song silence for a second. he grab cake knife and slices the cake.

"we won't go out tonight " Song put the cake to his mom plate

"hm..." His mom have many questions but she can't ask Song. she just wait for Song to tell her.

Song slices cake again, he put it on his plate

"we are on a break" Song eat the cake

"there's something happened, I think it'll be good to take a break for a while" Song keep eating the cake

His mom just give him meaningful smile and touch his face

"my son is grow up man now, so handsome and wise"

Song grab a cup of coffee and sip it.

Vivi put down her coffee cup at her swing. she is enjoying her afternoon time at her mini garden. her cats playing arond there, she swinging the swing gently so the coffee and snack won't fall.

8 pm

Vivi and her family sits to eat the dinner. She have better appetite now. maybe she bit gloomy cause this is a day when she always spent with Song. she bit cheer up after enjoying the afternoon in the garden and playing with her cats.

"Mom...I'll go out for a while" Song shout from the living room

"ah, yes.. be careful. the road is slippery and wear your jacket" His mom answer from the kitchen

"Yes" Song answers while open the door

Song enter a Cafe, he waves to someone.

"here" He shout

"Song... it's been a while" Song's friend comes and sit in front of him.

"hey chan, why you ask to meet me today?" Song asks

Chan put some flyer at the table

"what is this?" Song take the flyer

"it's Song composition or composing competition " Chan said

"you should try it, my senior said your "that felling" Song is amazing. it's going viral among students and many Cafe play the song" Chan said

" as soon I heard one of this I immediately remember you" Chan said

" but where you got this?" Song asks

"you know my brother, he works at entertainment company. his creative music editor initiated this competition" Cham explained

"thank you" Song said

"you can call me, but you came here all the way for this. I feel touched " Song said

"hey, don't think too much. I'll meet my girlfriend around here that's why I want to give this on the way. you're too confident " Chan laughs

Song pout his lip

5 minutes later

Song look at the flyer thoroughly. it's good opportunity, he's actually working on a song. He looks outside the Cafe window, it's snowy outside. the window glass is fogged up, he put his finger on it. he start write something, it's a love sign. he never thinks he will spend Christmas alone this year.

9.30 pm

"dad lose, yeay I win..." Vivi shout happily

she playing cards with her parents at the library.

"Vivi" her mom said

"yes" Vivi gather up the card

"is everything okay?" her mom asks

"yes" Vivi answer faster

"Vivi, we just silence until now. but it's been a month since the accident " her dad speak

"it's hard and we feel sorry for your friend. but we think we are not selfish to worry about you at the first place" her mom hold her hand

"tell us, we just know that the attacker is your ex boyfriend from high-school. but we don't know anything more than that"

Vivi eyes look deep into the past try to reminiscent bitter memories.

around 4 years ago, at Vivi's boyfriend house in India.

Vivi face slaps by a boy and make her fall to the floor. they both wearing same high-school uniform.

"are you tried hard to get? we've been dating for months" The boy speak

"but I still don't want to do it" she said while holding her skirt

"people at our age already do it. and there's no problem about it if we do it before marriage " he said again

"I just think now is too fast" Vivi said

his boyfriend pull her hand so she stand again. he put his hand at Vivi shoulder.

"do you look down at me? just because you were minister daughter you think I'm lower than you?" the boy asks

"no, I never think about that" Vivi said

"yeah I know you think like that right. you always play with your high end society friends. you always ignores me at school" he said

"no, it's not what I mean. I just don't want my dad found out that I'm in relationships " Vivi tries to explain

"then do it now" he said

"what?" Vivi shocks

"open your clothes " the boy commands

"I can't " Vivi getting afraid and hold her uniform tightly

"open it" the boy tries to pull Vivi's hand

"no" Vivi push him and run to the door

the boy grab her hand and chase her. he throws Vivi at his bed try to rape her.

"HELP" vivi tries to yells

but his boyfriend close her mouth with his hand, while other hand tries to undress Vivi.

grateful Vivi kick him and manage to run from that house.

after that day by day she gets terror from his boyfriend. gladly his father moved to Korea as ministry of embassy for India. so she can escape from his hand.

after that she continued her study there and meet Song. and the story continue as now.

"Vivi, how you can tell this important think to us" Vivi's mom hug her

"I'm sorry mom, cause I know I was wrong. you already warn me. but I'm not listening. I'm embarrassed and afraid " Vivi said

"my daughter " Vivi's dad hug her

Vivi's boyfriend is a sociopath since the first time they dating he always possessive toward her. he always think negatively. Vivi can stand her toxic relationship. but he came all the way here and make people around her in danger. the trial will begin in 1 week. vivi already prepared herself to testify and tell about the dark past in the court. this time he must prisoners for years.

Song walking around the streets, he look up on the sky. the snows keep falling and the weather so cold. but Song's heart is colder than the weather, so cold that he can't feel happiness. he sits at the park bench. he look around people smiling and laughing happily enjoy the Christmas. but he is alone, he feels lonely.

"Hyun Jae..." Hyun Jae's mom open his room

she found his son sitting in his bed, zoning out. she feels so sad.

she holds Hyun Jae's hand, makes Hyun Jae wake from his daydream.

"mom, I'm sorry, I don't realize you are here" Hyun Jae said

"it's okay" his mom touch his face

"is it tiring?" his mom ask

he just nodded

"are you okay?" she asked again

"mom..." Hyun Jae said

"yes..." his mom answer with gently calming voice

"the reason why I leave Hyo joo is not because I feel guilty or because all my wrongdoings"

Hyun Jae pinch the pillow

"it's all because my pride" Hyun Jae said

" she always better than me in all aspects, even I've done something bad she still stand on my side. but I can feel that comfortable anymore. so I hurt her make her begs to me so I can have a power. but it's not true I just become a bad person , selfish person who cares so much about his pride than his lover feelings " Hyun Jae tears starts to flow down

"Hyun Jae-ya... everyone makes mistakes and every mistakes can be fix" his mom said

"what if it's too late?" he asks

"at least try to fix it first. mom will go now, mom and dad will eat dinner outside. you need to find it by yourself " his mom kiss his forehead

"Merry Christmas my lovely son"

Hyun Jae get up from his bed and stand near the window. he look outside it's snowy and he feel lonely. he open his phone and watch last video of him and Hyo joo. he sits down at the corner of his room, close his eyes the video still playing

"are you love me?" Hyun Jae voice from the video

"yes" Hyo joo answer

"how much?" Hyun Jae ask

"this much" Hyo Joo kiss his cheek and run

Hyun Jae heart feel want to burst as he feel something want to comes out. his uneasy feeling keep bigger and bigger feels like want to swallow him.

"Hyo joo, I'm sorry" he mumbles softly
