"He's here! The Unexpected Connection"

💞Love from a Distance: A Tale of Unexpected Connection💞

Chapter 21

Liela's POV

I finally checked out of my hostel using the link sent to all students. As I came out pushing my two bags, I saw four black tinted Lamborghinis and a Rolls-Royce parked outside. There were built men in black suits standing beside the cars. "Someone very rich attends our school," I said surprised, waiting to see who it was. I saw a guy wearing all black - black hoodie, sunglasses, everything. I knew it was Diego. Wow, Diego goes to this school and he's not as attention-grabbing as Soo Ho. I decided to approach him, but his bodyguard stopped me.

"Miss, you can't trespass. Please leave," the bodyguard said.

"I just want to see him," I said, begging to not let the moment pass by.

"Please leave," he said, but I fought my way in and lost my balance, falling into his arms. He caught me and held me tightly.

"Diego?" I muttered, hoping it was him. "No, he's the one. I can feel it."

"Why are you here?" Diego asked gently in his hoarse voice.

"I came to bid you farewell," I said gently.

"You can't be seen with me, so please leave and thank you," he said, and I couldn't help but feel sad.

I heard him say, "Hey, I would love to talk to you, but I can't. Please don't be sad," as he caressed my face.

"Okay, I won't be. I hope to see you next year. But before I go, can we meet on December 25 at Niva in Bay City?" I asked, and he nodded. He let go of me, and I left.

"I hope to see you there, Diego," I said as I walked back to my luggage. Shortly after, a white Range Rover stopped in front of me, and a man came out. It was Mr. Lucas, my chauffeur. He took my luggage, and I hugged him.

"I missed you, Mr. Lucas," I said.

"Stubborn girl, I've missed you too. We need to leave; your parents are waiting for you," he said.

"No, I don't want to meet them. Let's run away," I said, showing him my cute baby face.

"I won't fall for that, and you can't run away. Get in and stop hugging me," he said, and I entered the car. He put my luggage in the trunk, got in, and drove away.

"So, how was school?" he asked.

"It was fine. A lot happened, actually. It was a mix of good and bad things," I said.

"What were the good things?"

"I met nice people, and I joined the library unit. I saw the school had skating as part of their sports so I wanted to join but couldn't because one of the stupid rules said 'never join any sport,' and that infuriated me."

"Liela, your parents have their reasons for that," he said.

"What reasons do they have? They just implement stupid rules and expect me to live by them. What kind of parent does that to their child?" I complained.

"Liela, take it easy. Your parents mean no harm by doing this," he said.

"What about the spy they brought to the school to keep watch on me?" I asked.

"They just want you to be in check," he said.

"Let's just end it here," I said angrily, looking out the window and thinking about Diego. I couldn't wait to see him again on that day.

Ryan's POV

As I entered the Rolls-Royce, I couldn't help but wish the moment between us never ended. I really loved it. I couldn't believe I had to use two different voices, but luckily, being an impersonator made it easy for me. "Liela, I'll be there."

"Where are we headed to?" I asked.

"Young master, the family house," the chauffeur said.

"It seems the whole family is looking forward to seeing me. Probably because of the match that took place." I thought as I touched my chin.

We arrived at the family house in the evening, and one of the bodyguards opened the door. I came down, and the maids took the luggage from the driver who brought it out from the trunk. My bodyguards followed me, and I saw the whole family standing with welcoming smiles as I walked in.

"You never miss an opportunity to make a presence, Ryan. Welcome home," my aunt Mrs. Flora said, I nodded and kept walking.

"You haven't changed, Ryan. Come hug me; your grandma misses you," Grandma said, and I went to hug her.
