Only Have Each Other

"That tall man over there in a grey suit, don't you think he's hot? He's definitely my type," A young woman asked her friend as they stole glances in Mo Tian Zi's direction. The Alpha was acting like a wallflower with him being alone while drinking wine in the corner.

"Oh I know, right? He's been there for like an hour now. The wedding ceremony is about to start soon but I don't see him talking to anyone. He just keeps on staring at that person over there. The one in a white suit together with Daniel Mo and Laura Mo. I think he's an Omega," Her friend replied. Just like her friend and most of the young unmarried individuals in the gathering, she had been eyeing Mo Tian Zi since earlier. She was planning to approach but thought otherwise because the Alpha has been releasing an oppressive air as if telling everyone not to talk to him.

No one had dared to get close to him so far. He's the epitome of a beautiful but poisonous flower, so one could only look from afar.

"Don't tell me they're lovers?? There's no way right?? That Omega isn't even that pretty. I'm sure he's just no one anyway. If I ask dad, maybe I can find out his name and arrange a dinner date with him. If he's qualified, I can even tell dad if it's possible to get a marriage proposal between us. If it's him, I don't care if it's arranged marriage honestly," The woman complained with a frown as she looked at Fyre getting along with the members of the Mo household and then later shifted to Mo Tian Zi who's sipping on his wine while his back leaned against the wall with her dreamy eyes.

"If you're doing that then should I do it as well? I like him too, you know," The other lady said smiling awkwardly at her friend.

"Good day, Ladies, the man you are staring at is Mo Tian Zi. The third son of this household. Aside from the fact that he is way out of your league, he hates it when Omega and women approach and stare at him. So I highly suggest you avoid talking about him now, I'm guessing he could hear you from here," While both women are talking about Tian Zi, Maverick who happened to hear them couldn't help but interrupt. Although he understood that these young women didn't know who Mo Tian Zi was, he still couldn't help but break their delusions. Especially when they're thinking they could have the Young Alpha as their prospect marriage partner.

"M-Mo Tian Zi? I'm so sorry, we honestly didn't know. I-I thought Mo Tian Zi was..." The redhead girl replied in shock looking at Maverick's gentle and charming smile. Everybody knew who Mo Tian Zi was by name but no one was actually sure what he looked like because there were surprisingly no pictures of him available online and he barely attends gatherings. If he did, rumors say he would suddenly disappear. Rumors said that he was an introvert and felt inferior to his older brothers so everybody just thought he was ugly. But now that they're seeing him for the first time, they never thought he was more handsome than anyone in the entertainment industry in his generation.

"I understand. Just be careful with your words from now on," Maverick said with another smile. If there was anything that he's good at, it was definitely smiling when needed.

"U-Uhmm, may I know what's your name instead?" The redhead asked, a faint blush appeared on her cheeks as she shyly fixed her hair pushing it at the back of her ear. Seeing this, Maverick's eyes shifted briefly before he continued his professional smile. Even though he's a Male Omega and pretending to be an Alpha, he preferred men as his partners so seeing the woman in front of him showing signs of flirting slightly made him feel uncomfortable.

"Maverick. Anyway, if you'll just excuse me. I still need to prepare for the wedding," Maverick quickly excused, maintaining his smile. When he reached his younger brother, Ashton; he could still feel the redhead's stare on his back that he hastily ushered the young Alpha away.

"You should've just left them alone," Ashton commented with a frown. It's not that he hated Mo Tian Zi but it is indeed true that he didn't like him. There was just something about him that he didn't like, especially recently when he's noticing Maverick and the Alpha looking and greeting each other occasionally.

"I'm sorry. I couldn't help myself because they're being too absurd," Maverick chuckled, making Ashton frown even further in displeasure.

"Why would you care about that?? Do you like Mo Tian Zi?" Ashton asked, however as soon as his words came out, Maverick quickly covered his mouth in shock.

"What are you talking about?? What if people heard you?? Ash, you know that's not what I mean," Maverick said in panic looking around to see if there were people listening. Thankfully there was not and he quickly let go of his hand. Although there was nothing wrong with two male Alphas being together, he didn't want people to misunderstand and cause trouble to the family especially when he's hiding his gender.

"Okay fine, but are you sure that's not the case? I'm just worried about you."

"I swear that's not the case and I know as well that you're only worried about me. Anyway, let's not talk about this anymore and just go ahead and prepare," Maverick quickly dismissed the topic. When it is true that it doesn't seem like he has feelings for Mo Tian Zi, he couldn't deny the things that happened between them and that every time he locked eyes with the Alpha, his heart would quickly skip a beat. Whether that's something else or not, nothing good will happen out of it so it's best to cut it off now before it develops into something else later on. Mo Tian Zi should deserve better.

Not someone like him who has a lot of secrets to keep.

"Okay. If you say so. Quinn's waiting for us anyway," Ashton replied dismissing the topic as well. Although it was quite a surprise to him that the usual shy and timid Maverick was brave enough to approach and call out the two ladies for talking about Mo Tian Zi, he didn't want to pressure the Omega further since he knew that when he is ready, Maverick will surely let him know whatever's in his mind. It will take a while but he wasn't impatient.

"Hmmm, okay," Maverick replied smiling softly before he followed his younger brother after he briefly glanced at Tian Zi's direction. He didn't know why he had to look his way when he didn't used to be like this, he used to ignore the Young Alpha but after what had happened between them he had become more aware of him.

'Why am I like this?' Maverick thought about pushing Ashton's back while sneaking glancing at Tian Zi but as he did so, he wasn't expecting the Alpha to be looking at his way as well. Their eyes instantly locked as if it was meant to be, almost giving Maverick a heart attack. It was only a brief moment before he soon cut it and left with Ashton with his heart beating vigorously. The dark and intense eyes that were looking at him just now felt like a beast glaring at its prey. His knees felt weak but thankfully he managed to walk away before his strength started to betray him.

He had slept with a lot of men but not one of them has the same effect as Mo Tian Zi. And it's not like he had slept with the Young Alpha. They were just making out but he couldn't forget how both gentle and rough he was with his touches. He felt inexperienced but his body knew exactly what he needed to do to pleasure an Omega. It wasn't even sex but his body suddenly became hot recalling that day. The hot and intense kiss. The bruising bites the Alpha did to his neck that day. The way he held his waist and easily manhandled him. All of it sent sparks all over his body.

It was similar to what he's been doing but at the same time different. The pleasure he felt wasn't forced and couldn't help feeling treasured by his touches. Truthfully, it might be the only touch that he truthfully consented. The only touch that he enjoyed, alas it has to end. They were never meant to be.

"Ricky? Are you okay?" Finally reaching their destination, his Older Brother, Joaquinn Sullen, rushed approaching him in a worried tone. He held Maverick's shoulder before pulling him into a less crowded place. "Ash, what happened?" Quinn asked again and this time directed it to Ashton who also only just discovered his Older Brother's leaking pheromones and replied he didn't know.

"I'm fine. I'm sorry for causing trouble," Maverick replied.

"You know that's not what I mean. I'm only worried about you. What if Dad finds out or someone else?" Quinn said worriedly, however at the mention of their father, Maverick expression turned stiff before he slightly pushed his Older brother away and looked at both him and Ashton in assurance.

"I'll take another suppressant to keep it under control. Dad won't know," Maverick replied, thinking it would assure both of them but as usual they weren't.

"How many suppressants have you already taken?" Quinn asked with a frown. Maverick is a dominant Omega so hiding his pheromones would have been difficult but ever since he was young, taking more than 5 pills a day was a common occurrence up until now. This was not prescribed by his doctor but what can he do?? He needs to hide the fact that he's an Omega or else he would never be accepted by their father.

"Just the usual, Quinn. You don't need to worry. I only have to take one more," Maverick replied, not telling the fact that he had already taken 7 pills today just to be extra careful since today's full of people.

"No, you can't take one more. That damn thing isn't doing good for your body."

"I'm fine," Maverick assured helplessly but as expected, both Ashton and Quinn's face turned hard with a frown.

"No, you need to rest just a little. If it still doesn't get any better then I'll allow you to take one more pill..." Quinn said in his Alpha tone so Maverick couldn't argue back before shifting his eyes to Ashton and said "Go ask someone to let us borrow a room," Quinn ordered, to which Ashton quickly complied without delay. And not a minute long, he came back with a maid who soon led them to the guest room.

"There's still an hour and a half before the ceremony. You can rest until then, both of us will handle Dad if he goes looking for you," Quinn instructed, leaving Maverick no choice but to follow his overprotective brothers, making him chuckle as he nodded.

"Okay, I understand. Thank you, Quinn, Ash," Maverick said with his brightest might while giggling at their protective antics. Thankfully, even though he wasn't favored by their father, both of his brothers loved him so dearly that his life wasn't as bad.

"What are you talking about? Mom left you to us, it's only right for the both of us to take care of you," Ashton said before pulling Maverick into his strong arms. He was clearly younger but Maverick fit perfectly against his arms. Maverick was so small, he wondered why people believed he was an Alpha. He clearly looks like an Omega or at least should look like a Beta in others but people are such a fool to believe Maverick was someone he's not.

Honestly, he didn't understand why their father did this to his own son. Maybe it really runs in the family but just like what he and Quinn had promised before when they were younger. Once they grew up and had the money and influence, they would surely put Maverick into a place where he didn't need to pretend to be someone else. A place where their father could not touch and hurt Maverick any further than he already did.

"Ricky, just a little bit more. Ash and I will get you out of this just like what Mom said in her letters," Quinn said, joining in the hug.

And just like that, as if they turn back to their childhood days, they continue to hug knowing that they only have each other to love and support.
