Like A Bad Dream

A/N: It has come to my mind that it is impossible for me to prevent people from copying my book since it is true that I write mostly for free. This is the internet and it is easy to copy&paste something. This is just the sad reality and to tell you honestly, it is very discouraging for someone like me who is very possessive of my works. I want my book to be free that's why I refused all contract offers that will lead me to delete my book on my free sites but I had to do something to discourage people who repeatedly do things like copying and taking advantage of my decision.

That's why am I telling everyone from here on that I won't be posting Love Chase as a completed book anymore. What I am saying is that 30 Chapters to the Epilogue will probably NOT be posted anywhere for free. You are still free to read this book but you should know from here on that you will need to go to P a t r e o n/buymeacoffee to read the last 30 chapters of the book. Or another option is to read it on N o v e l C a t where you can buy each chapter with coins or it could be completely free still if you're resourceful enough to gather tickets just like here on WN. With this, those who copied seasons 1 and 2 won't be able to copy season 3 or if they did, it would be unfinished.

Of course, this is still far in the future but I am telling you all now so that you can drop this book at this point if you have no plan to upgrade your support. You can thank those people who said that even without permission, as long as they credit me, it does not violate my right as the author. Anyway again, I love you all that's why I want to make my book for free as much as possible but this was also for my mental health. Knowing that people out there use my handwork to gain profit/popularity does not sit well in me. I admit that I am possessive and I'm sorry. I didn't pour all my time, effort, and become so sickly just for someone to copy it. Once again, I'm so sorry and I would understand if you stop reading this book from this point on. "What are you talking about? Of course, he will! No excuses," Fyre hushed Tian Zi, glaring at the Alpha not wanting to jinx it.

Meanwhile, in the other room, Remi finished dressing up when she noticed Jonathan hugging her from behind. Honestly, she still couldn't believe that the Alpha was from a noble family because he certainly didn't act like it. She truly thought that the Alpha was just a private bodyguard from the Mo household. She mentioned before that no matter who Jonathan was, she was going to accept him but she still couldn't help but feel betrayed.

"Thank you, for giving me a chance," Jonathan whispered, kissing his lover's nape softly. Feeling this, Remi slightly flinched before she softly pushed the Alpha away. Right now, she wasn't in the mood to fool around, especially when she hadn't finished sucking in all the information she had just learned days ago. The only reason why she went with the Alpha today was that she was afraid he would go with his fiance.

"U-Uhmm, I'm worried about Fyre. Can you go and check up on him for me?" Reno requested, quickly dodging the topic. Yes, she had given Jonathan another chance but she wanted a little more time to think everything through.

"...okay," Jonathan replied with a smile after briefly being taken aback. He noticed how Remi dodged him just now but he did understand so he smiled even though he felt hurt. Seeing Remi nodding, he soon turned around to go and check on Fyre as requested but as he reached the door, Remi suddenly talked, making him halt his hand from twisting the doorknob open.

"I'm sorry. I just need a little more time to think everything through," Remi said, looking at the Alpha tenderly. Seeing this, Jonathan smiled again and nodded. He knew but he felt relieved hearing it from Remi herself.

"I understand. Thank you for telling me," Jonathan replied, flashing another smile before he finally left the room with a sigh. He stood behind the door for five seconds before, without saying anything he soon started walking to Fyre's room. When he finally arrived, he knocked a few times twisting the door open just a little to announce that he's coming in and did when he had gotten permission.

"Perfect timing, Jonathan. Tian Zi has something to tell you," As soon as he stepped inside, he saw Fyre and Tian Zi on the couch sitting across each other with a serious expression. It looks like the two are about to bicker again so he ever so slightly shook his head and headed to sit next to his childhood friend.

"What is it?" Jonathan asked with a serious expression. His face was telling that something had happened, so before Tian Zi could reply, Fyre frowned and called Jonathan.

"Hey, did something happen to you and Remi?" Fyre asked, worriedly. He wasn't particularly worried about Jonathan and instead he's worried about his Older sister. She may act strong but she's actually very delicate deep inside because just like her, he was the same. Both of them were used to hiding their pain because they simply didn't want to cause trouble to anyone. 'Are they not okay after all?' Fyre thought worriedly, waiting for the Alpha to answer.

"No, nothing... she just asked me to check you out," Jonathan replied. He doesn't seem to be lying but it also doesn't seem he's telling the whole truth. Seeing this, Fyre didn't insist anymore and just nodded because clearly, whatever problem he had with Remi, he didn't have the right to intervene. True, at times he gets carried away but he's doing his best to be less impulsive and reckless in his decision-making.

"So, what is it that you want to tell me?" Jonathan asked this time and faced Tian Zi and then Fyre.

"I found something that might help you break off your engagement to Margarette," Tian Zi replied to which as soon as Jonathan heard him, his eyes slightly brightened as he focused all his attention on his friend waiting for the follow-up information.

"I don't know if you knew already but I think Margarette and your sister have a relationship or at least a sexual relationship," Tian Zi replied with a serious expression. Meanwhile, when Jonathan heard his friend, a sudden realization came to his mind and he sighed. He only has one sister who is only interested in women and that is Marjorie. Marjorie Wood was also quite a player but unlike him, all her relationships are purely just sexual relationships and there are a few of his lovers who became his sister's partners as well.

"It's probably just sexual. Marjorie had always been like that... anyway, thanks for telling me Zi," Jonathan replied with a sigh. He really appreciated the help but he strongly doubted this could be a strong enough reason to break off his engagement to Margarette because, in the beginning, he's not marrying for love. What would it matter if his fiance had a relationship with someone if the marriage purpose was to combine the family's power? Even if it was his sister, it's very easy to keep this out of public as well.

"Why aren't you happy? Can't we use this to break off the engagement?" Fyre asked dejectedly.

"I'm not sure. Margarette and I aren't marrying for love in the beginning. If this comes out, both families are just going to hide this and go on with the wedding," Jonathan explained with another sigh while Tian Zi nodded, already expecting the possibility.

"Don't worry, I'll try and find more effective ways. For now, I can use this to delay the official engagement. Thank you so much again for helping me," Jonathan added. Meanwhile, Fyre and Tian Zi listened silently. They had nothing more to add so they kept silent sitting there awkwardly until it was time for the gala.

As usual, the gala ran almost the same as the morning gathering. There were individuals who gave speeches to congratulate the newlyweds. The program was a combination of modern and royal gala so there were people dancing at some point, the guests also joined in after the bride and the groom. It was a happy event that even Fyre and Remi were forced to join in the ball dance even though both of them knew nothing when it came to dance.

The night went by fast until the day finally ended without anything major happening. By now, it was no secret to everyone who attended that wedding that the Mo family is very fond of the unknown maid of honor. A lot had become very curious but none of them could personally go and approach Fyre or Remi because there were no instances that they were left alone. It's as if someone intentionally planned to keep the two accompanied and protected. Alas, the day ended without anyone knowing who they were.

In the first place, why was their identity important? Well, as someone who is finding ways to form connections with the members of the Mos and one of the most influential aristocrat families in Europe, marriage is one thing but becoming friends with the person very close to the Mos and Woods can possibly also open up a path for them to be successful. The Woods influence is given but the Mos are no exemption, especially when the Mo Empire ranked 6 most successful corporate companies in the world.

"Fyre, are you sure you and your sister won't come with us to Hawaii?" Daniel asked dejectedly while Ian also nodded, listening from the side. It had been just a few times since they met Fyre but they liked him a lot enough for them to want him to join their family vacation to Hawaii. Because for some reason, Fyre was like their little brother who kept struggling to fit in that he looked so cute acting so awkwardly. Furthermore, Daniel and Ian already encountered many people that they could already tell if they have bad intentions or not. It's very rare to find people who wouldn't look at them like they're tickets for success and try to desperately please them just because they're the wives of Mo Laotian and Mo Hanlu.

"I'm sorry. I truly can't intrude more than I already have but thank you so much for inviting me and my sister," Fyre declined for the hundredth time. Not just Daniel and Ian who kept on inviting him also Laura and Tian Zi during the gala and every time he had to decline because he didn't want to be involved with them any further than he already had. The only reason he showed himself was because he just wanted to warn Remi about Jonathan but now that he could leave Remi to the Alpha's hand, it was time for him to go back to his normal and peaceful life.

"You're like a family to us already, Fyre, so don't think you're intruding. This family is very small to begin with, adding one or two would only make it livelier. But if you insist on not coming then we will not force you any longer, we just hope we can still see you every now and then. You have to come and visit us even without Tian Zi, okay?" Ian said this time and Fyre just nodded. He didn't know that upon going home tonight, he would wake up tomorrow regretting he didn't come.

The next day. Fyre was woken up by noises coming from the outside of his house. He wondered why it was so noisy outside when he's living outside the main city and not to mention that his place is known to be an abandoned factory and it still does although only from the outside, so he thought there was no way people would gather around.

Lazily dragging his feet towards his window that is being covered with newspapers, his eyes went wide when seeing groups of reporters and journalists waiting outside his door. Quickly, Fyre stepped back from his window and frustratingly pulled his hair. He never thought that there would be a day where his private property would be surrounded by people from the media.

"Wait. Calm down, Fyre. If you act like you're at home, they will probably just think I'm not here and leave," Fyre comforted himself before he nodded convinced at his own words. He wasn't that important anyway, he just happened to be Ian Andrews Mo's maid of honor. As time passes, people will lose interest in him.

"Right. I should just go on with my usual routine and ignore them. I have nothing to say to them anyway," Fyre added, nodding at himself again. Unfortunately, three days had passed and people were still waiting for him outside to the point that they're already camping in his front yard. He could no longer sleep with him hearing people calling his name and some would even throw canned beers at his windows. He searched the internet as to why this was happening to him and discovered that his identity was being revealed to the public. Who and what he used to. The fact that where he used to live. That he is currently on a missing person list. Some people even mentioned that he was part of a syndicate, and that he used to be a problematic child who helped people who paid him hack profiles on the internet to steal personal information.

Although he can deny it all, the fact that all those are true put him on the edge. Even those people who used to know him also mentioned that one incident where he caused every Alpha and Omega including the teachers at his high school to go through their heat and rut because he had a sudden attack. It was a huge mess that he wanted to forget when he left home but it was now being revealed to everyone. There are even a couple of discussions online just talking about him and his past and none of them were talking about good things.

Covering his body with his blanket in fear, Fyre ignored his phone as it rang. He never thought that just because he became somewhat friends with Mo Tian Zi and Jonathan Wood, this would happen to him. He tried his best to cover his past but all his effort fell in vain and now everything resurfaced like a bad dream.
